I just nodded as I was still a little nervous that they might fire on me. I followed Wren's ship to the area where she landed. "I am not about to open my ship to a lot of gun-happy idiots," I told her.

"Yeah, I understand, I'd be the same way. I'll have to get the entire council here before you do. If I am right, you have the most important person on board," Wren said.

I just shook my head. I still wasn't sure about all of this. From what I could see, the ones with the weapons looked more like killers than guards.

So, I sat and ate as I watched Wren as she re-digitized all that were stored on her ship. Damn, I thought now that really saved space. I saw a lot of reunions and whole families that discovered that they were all there.

A few hours later, Wren came to my hatch with twelve men. "I'm not so sure about this Wren," I said as I saw that there were more than just the twelve and Wren.

I pulled and Wren was on board. "Damn, that is quick. I am sorry that they will not trust you. I will disconnect and bring them out," Wren said.

Wren had them out then outside. An alarm was going off as I looked at a reading. "I have to go, the portal is back and moving this way," I said.

Wren took my hand and held it a moment, then nodded her head, I then sent her out, then we rose to the atmosphere in ten seconds.

"Get us some distance Rommie," I said as we moved trillions of miles, then the portal passed over us.

We came out not too far from the portal back to Janeway's universe. Even with all the improvements, I was afraid that the energy beings were going to be tougher. I chuckled that was a laugh, tougher than the Borg.

I had Rommie get us moving, though it wasn't too fast. When the portal came after us, it always messed us up.

I smiled when I saw that the energy beings were hanging back quite a ways. After losing a number of their kind, I guess they were more cautious now. That's when I detected one trying to slip through the defenses.

For once, I wasn't that mad at them and just charged the weapon enough to cause pain. I swear that I could hear screaming as it darted away. Then I started to take more readings, something was off.

Sure enough, I found two grasping the ship's outer skin. Now I was starting to get mad. I pointed at the two energy beings and let loose a blast again, hearing screaming.

They had gotten through with two, I had better make sure. I started to curse as I found a few more on the engines, near the nose. At least I had them outside and not in.

After ridding the ship of all of them, then checking the hull three times, I had Rommie move us to the portal.

Far across the emptiness of the between space, the supreme leader was perplexed. They had carried out the plan to perfection, how had the solid detected? Have all move away from the solid's ship. We are in perilous trouble.

The leader's aide came to him quickly, hearing the leader's urgency. What is wrong leader? Are they defeated?

No, this is not the one that imprisoned us here. It is the full-powered offspring of it. The more we try to defeat it, the stronger it grows. It is already more than half as strong as its sire.

Leader? This one is far more violent than the first. Will it come after the rest of us?

Of that I cannot be sure, though it might be possible. In all the thousands of years we have dealt with its kind, this is the first that has actually destroyed any of us. We must exercise caution with this one. Whatever it is doing, it gains each time it renters our space.

The aide was worried. I will advise all scouts to avoid it at all costs as it may cost their life energy.

Yes, the supreme leader said. That would be the most advisable for the moment. There has to be a way to defeat him, though losing more of us is not the way.

The aide was nodding its head area, I will personally go out there myself supreme leader. I will also punish any that do not agree with your orders.

The supreme leader nodded as its aide streaked off to advise the scouts to cease and desist their attacks. He had also grabbed a boost in case they didn't agree.

Arriving, the aide saw that there were about ten that were disabled, it looked extremely painful from what the aide saw.

At first the aide thought that they were going to fight the orders, then they saw the injured. This, above anything else, convinced them to back off.

We appeared not far from where we went in, I was surprised when there were no Borg cubes or spheres. The other thing was that for now we had lost Janeway.

This was enough to piss me off even more. Why the hell didn't they realize that I was trying to save all the universes.

I sighed, yeah, they were fighting to stay alive against the Borg." Alright Rommie, check for any damage then see if you can find Janeway's ship. Seems like sooner or later we'll actually catch them," I said.

"I have now recalculated all the sensors; I am getting a residual trail that wasn't there before. It may have to do with the new equipment that you had me install," Rommie said.

This perked me up a bit as I thought that the new sensor wasn't that good. "Finally, I said, "we might actually find them faster this time.

We followed them for a few days, seeming to draw closer. At least I thought that we hadn't encountered any of the queen's ships so far.

Then I knew that I had to open my mouth as we came upon ten cubes that were closing on a planet.

"Alright Rommie, take out those closest to the planet," I said, then watched the five disintegrate.

"John, I have several missiles loaded with nanos, now targeting for total destruction," Rommie advised me.

I breathed a sigh of relief when they were gone, though, it turned the other five on us.

"So you are once again interfering with our plans," I heard the Queen, glad that she could no longer beam a holo-gram in.

"Well, since you did this without permission, I feel that is wrong. I hope that the silence that I have provided you is tearing you and them apart!" I snapped.

"So you are trying to destroy the Borg, that hardly seems possible," she said as Rommie destroyed four of the five cubes.

"Oh yeah, I am better than I was," I said as the Queen started to scream as I was tearing all her connections loose. "Gee, got a problem?" I sneered as the Queen started to blubber out almost nonsense. "Like you, I also learn, possibly faster than you." Then I broke the connection.

I watched as Rommie got a bead on the last cube and destroyed it. I nodded as I had Rommie begin searching for Janeway's ship again.

I looked at the planet as we pulled away. I just hoped that I hadn't signed a death warrant for the planet. I was hoping that all the ships I had destroyed, and that many were safer now. Still, I was a little guilty that I was leaving these people at the Borg's mercy.

So we started to look for Janeway's again. I thought we were getting closer when we picked up a trail. A trail that went on for a long way then doubled back, causing me to throw up my arms in near defeat.

Rommie went as far as she could, detecting nothing. How in the hell was I going to return her weapon if they kept running, it seemed from me? I had Rommie looking everywhere but behind us, a delay of almost a day.

Not realizing it, I had mistakenly turned the scan behind us, picking them up. To say I was pissed was an understatement. I remembered something that played on the edge of my mind though I couldn't quite grasp it.

Damnit! The harder I tried to recall, the further from my memories it seemed to fly. I remembered something about her having to go on a Borg cube, though I couldn't see why.

I shook my head as Rommie started to back track us on Janeway's ship path. Sometimes I swore, it didn't pay to try and save the universes.

I figured that Janeway had at least a week on me. Without really knowing where she was going, I couldn't use the trans-warp. For the first time I didn't need it, though I did.

It wasn't long before I could see that her trail was growing weaker. I had Rommie plot a course, then we went to trans-warp for a minute. We came out a few million miles from what appeared to be a nexus.

My eyes opened wide when I saw what had to be thousands of cubes and spheres. So I guess that the Queen hadn't been lying after all, so good on her, I guess.

So as far as I could see, I had two extremely bad things that I could see. First, Janeway's ship was heading directly into it. Secondly, I was sure that the Queen had been trying to track me for a while.

For some reason, I felt that she and the rest of her slaves. Would be lying in wait for me. Whatever she had planned, I was sure that my life would be over.

I started to think of a few scans that I hadn't before. Then I started to add to the scans that we had now. I thought I was through, then I started to add a stealth scan for every wave band.

I was glad that I did, as Rommie started to pick up tens of thousands of cubes. I nodded, yup the bitch Queen had definitely been busy.

I thought of launching a few missiles into the hoard of cubes. I figured they might wipe out a few hundred more, but then they'd all be after me.

I was still figuring how they had gotten past my stealth as I had improved it several times. I was beginning to think that the Queen had sensitive people that could detect me.

I thought more about it, then decided it was probably the Queen. She seemed to find me whenever she wanted to try and taunt me. Plus, it probably didn't help when I tried to hurt her.

Nt really the smartest thing I had ever done but to me, it was a bit of fun after all. I was hoping that she had more human in her or whatever she was before. Being alive, she had to have emotions, right? Hell, I was probably wrong, though emotions meant making mistakes.

Going along with what I had been thinking, I strengthened my mind again and shielded the hull more. I just hoped that it would cut her off from trying to get me again. My mind was already almost ten times more protected. As a small test, I reached out to see if I could see the Queen without her seeing me.

I was flying through all the ships and space, hitting the nexus. I got all the way to where the Queen was this time, actually seeing her ugly ass.

She was directing quite a few of the Borg, when I saw her look up. I then heard her thoughts.

There is another presence here. Show yourself. I know that you can hear my thoughts. What if you can do this, then what fear of me do you have?

Without appearing, I blasted her mind with a strong thought. So you can find me? I think not. I then started to rip everything around her loose. I knew that she had an out, though how much I made it difficult stood to be seen.

Her screams were music to my ears. I was hoping that she would actually feel fear. I knew that she was more machine than actual flesh and whatever she was.

I reentered my body, so to say, then had Rommie backing us out slowly. We were still a few million miles too close for me, but we were gaining distance at least.

I smiled as the little experiment that I had just done had indeed worked for the most part. Then I had another (stupid?) idea. What would be the response if I went right back?

I advised Rommie what I was going to do, causing her to get a worried look on her face. "John? You really think you have the energy to do this? It is, after all, further away."

"The last thing I did took almost nothing, and I was moving things while I was there. I don't think it will be that bad as I am not really planning to do that much," I told her.

I got ready to leave again, though I could see that Rommie was still worried. "Be careful John, you know that she can be very unpredictable," Rommie said.

I just nodded as I reached out and was back at the nexus in no time. What was left of the Queen was being removed as another Queen's body was being moved to replace it.

I knew that the Queen was in the system for the moment, so I had little time. Reaching in, I started to see hundreds of weapons and plans that the Borg had going.

I could also see the thoughts of the Queen awaiting transfer to her new body. I smiled to myself as I thought perhaps, I could delay her a bit, put things on hold.

I started to leave a few stray thoughts that I knew would bug the shit out of her for sure. I was pulling out when an alarm went off as several doors seemed to drop nearby me. I tried to go through one, finding it hard. So, I changed my energy and was out in no time.

I saw that the Queen was downloading herself into the new body, then smiled. At first nothing happened, then the Queen found that part of the body wouldn't respond to her.

I know not how you have done this; it will be a simple thing to, what have you done!? All drones assist your Queen, this is far from finished!" She said.

I was back with Rommie far faster this time, hmmm, I thought, I am getting faster. Plus, it seemed that the Queen was starting to not be able to find me unless I was right there. Yes, I thought that could be very useful.

I decided that we were more than far enough away as I launched no less than fifty missiles. I figured as tight as I had seen them packed in, it would be shooting without aiming. I was partially right as the first twenty-five destroyed a host of them. Then the second half they managed to destroy.

Well, hell, I thought as they started to launch trying to find us. Thankfully, we were hundreds of millions away, safe for a little bit.

I sighed as I guess that we were going to have to wait for Janeway to actually leave the nexus area. The problem is, I remembered this was where she got the trans-warp capability. I also thought that Star Fleet was still looking for us.

I shook my head as I thought about the whole situation. I had to get this to Janeway, but before she left for her quadrant of space, though, as I remembered when they left, the Borg were right on their tail.

Shit I thought I was going to have to time this almost to the second. I wasn't/ as worried about me and Romie as I was about Janeway and her ship.

I sat down and started to plan with Rommie, working out the timing along with everything else. I shook my head, even with Rommie's help this was going to take a while.

Finally, a few hours after I had done all that I could, the rest was up to Rommie. I decided that I should see exactly what Janeway was doing. I advised Rommie, who again was worried that I might get caught or killed.

For the third time I was entering the nexus, though this time I stayed as far from the Queen as I could. I searched through the entire nexus in no time with no sign of them. I then started to go through the cubes that were mainly in rest mode.

I finally found them working their way toward the trans-warp coil area. I tried to get Janeway alone to talk to her, to no avail.

I had to admit that the disguises that they were using were a stroke of genius. Though I was afraid that they were going to get caught because they didn't have the signature of a Borg.

Finally, I just appeared in front of her party, aware that more than her would know what I looked like. To say that they were surprised was an understatement.

Well, almost all of them were Janeway just gave me a sideways smirk. "Here I thought you weren't real and if you were that you wouldn't leave your universe," she said.

I held up her weapon, "remember this? It and those of others have been causing havic. It and the other weapons have caused titanic feedback for less of a proper word in the universes. I am afraid that it wasn't just mine, so I have been trying to return them," I said.

Janeway was about to reach out when the male next to her shook his head no. "So, my ship, is vital to the existence to your and my universes?" She asked.

"Actually, it is you more than your ship," I said as I touched several drones that were approaching. I watched as they dropped non-responding.

"So it was you in Kirk's time, plus I heard reports from Picard's area. Was it you that destroyed as many Borg ships that we got reports about?" Janeway asked, to which I nodded.

"Plus, I have been playing havoc with the Queen. I believe that she has had to download herself a few times," I said.

Janeway nodded her head, "that might explain how we were able to get in as easily as we did. With her trying to find and stop you, she has dedicated more resources than she usually would."

"I am at the far end of the nebula, maybe a day's travel. As soon as I return it, then we are done, and you can get out of here," I said.

"Wait," I said as I dropped another twenty drones that were making their way to us. "OK, it's pretty clear."

I then vanished as they looked at each other, then made their way to their exit point. I watched as they transported away, then breathed a sigh of relief.

I didn't want them captured as I knew that wasn't the way things had gone. IK then watched as they left the nexus slower than I and Rommie had moved away.

I made sure I watched their progress as they got further and further away. It was about that time that I felt the Queen again trying to contact me.

"So," she started, "you were so desperate that you actually came aboard one of my ships. Taking a trans-warp coil seems strange even for you."

I started to laugh as I watched Janeway's ship creeping further away. "Taking a coil from you, huh? Now tell me, why would I want to take a piece of antiquated trash from you? I do not use your conduits as I don't have to. You are more deluded than I had at first thought, perhaps you are not as good a leader as you thought you were."

I half expected her to become angry though, as I said, I half expected she would be surprised.

"So, you are willing to share technology with the Borg we expect. Though soon we will just take it from you," she said with confidence.

I just smiled, knowing she couldn't see me nor really find me. "I believe that you can still try though, as of, yet you still cannot find me, so good luck with the search."

Again, I waited to see if she became angry. I, of course, was disappointed when she let no sound of emotion slip from her throat.

"So again, Queen, get used to being disappointed. I know that you can't win against me," I said.

I checked again as I saw that Janeway's ship was indeed drawing closer. "You are a biological being; we have found that overtime that all biologicals make mistakes. You will, then you will be a part of the Borg," the Queen said.

I could only shake my head, as that had almost sounded like a boast. "That may be true though, as of, yet I have not committed that. I have also found that machines can also make mistakes when they have incomplete information. This I think that you do," I told her, then broke the connection.

It wasn't but a few hours that Janeway's ship pulled not far from me. I nodded as I pulled Janeway onboard, she just shook her head.

"I forgot that you could do this. So, you have improved in here a good thing, I believe. Hello Rommie," she said when Rommie appeared.

"I believe that the Borg are after us, sir," Rommie said, to which I nodded.

"Take care, Captain," I said.

"You also, Captain," Janeway said. Then she winked out as her ship entered the trans-warp conduit.

"Alright let's go Rommie," I said, then watched as the universe portal opened in front of us.

We passed through then suddenly came to a halt. "Rommie? What's going on?" I asked.

"We have lost all engine power, I am getting nothing at all from them," she said.

I was already on the way to the engine room.
