Chapter 3
Skyler woke up wondering where she was, what had happened and why she hurt so much. Was she in the hospital? Had someone found her injured and on the side of the road somewhere? She opened her eyes and looked at the room around her. It was wide and spaciously decorated with warm earthen tones that had touches that were wholly male. Skyler leaned over to sit up, only to scream in pain and fall back against the bed. The waves of pain Skyler felt radiating throughout her chest stole her breath away. Panting loudly, Skyler tried to calm herself and make her breathing shallow. Skyler's panic only grew; building in her chest causing her heart to race Skyler did the only thing she could do. She screamed
"HELP ME, SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME! IS ANYBODY OUT THERE?"

Shifting the heavy burden of dirty linens from Cable's room, Jessie wished that she wasn't an omega, but she knew if she wanted that to change, that complaining wouldn't get her there. Jessie passed the large mahogany doors of the Alpha's room, wishing she had been born with enough rank for Carson to notice her. Heaving a sigh, Jessie went to the laundry room on the alpha's floor. Opening the washer door, she stuffed the sheets into the washer and loaded it with soap and fabric softener. Walking down the hallway once more to grab all Cable's dirty laundry from the beautiful hand carved mahogany hamper.
"Almost done Jessie?" Cable winking with goofy smile.
"Yes Cable, this is the last of it. Then I'll let you have some peace and quiet." Jessie was looking at the floor, not only from submission but because she could barely contain the redness creeping through her face. She wished Cable would notice her but knew that in all likelihood he didn't even know she existed.
"There's no rush Jessie. I'm not doing anything too important."Cable tried to catch her
eyes.
Grabbing the clothing, Jessie rushed out of the room and hurried down the hall only to come to a halt when she heard screams coming from the Alpha's room. Dropping the clothing, Jessie ran back to Cable's room and burst through the door panting. "Cable...you have to come...quickly...there's screaming coming from Carson's room. I think there's something wrong with the human."
"Screaming? Go get Carson, quickly! Tell him I need him in his room immediately and if Gabe is here then tell him to come too." Cable going out the door and running down the hallway still throwing orders over his shoulder. "Go now. Hurry!"
"Yes Sir." Jessie panted for breath, while trying to keep up with him. Seeing an Omega who had just come of age a week ago walking down the hall Jessie grabbed him by the arm.
"Take care of these clothes. Go to the laundry room on this floor and make sure that they are all washed and dried properly. I will take care of the folding and returning of them to their proper rooms. Now go!"
"Yes Ma'am." The young Omega answered with a slight look of envy on his face.

Skyler heard someone opening a door near her room and screamed once more, hoping that someone would hear her. "Please can somebody help me? Does anybody hear me? Please help!" At the sound of someone walking away Skyler lost all hope of having someone come to her aide. Being cautious from the pain in her ribs, Skyler slowly began to lift herself off the bed only to notice a strange feeling coming from her right hand. Skyler saw a plaster cast going half way up her forearm and wondered who had tended to her injuries.
Slowly standing, Skyler winced at the pain that shot through her ankle. She pulled the top sheet off of the bed and covered herself as best she could, wondering where her clothes were. Sensing that there was still danger Skyler hobbled across the room, panting as she made her way to a dimly lit bathroom. Not watching where she was going, she tripped over a chair with a small desk beside it and toppled the lamp and vase from it in the process. Skyler made her way to the door; leaning against the door frame, Skyler she rubbed her hand against the wall. Searching for a light switch. Finding it, she flicked it on illuminating a bathroom any woman would die for. Skyler walked over to the mirror that spanned a wall of the room from floor to ceiling. Making her way to the sinks, she leaned against the counter. Skyler stared in shock as she took in what she saw in the mirror.
Oh my god is that really me?
Skyler thought looking into the mirror. Her hair was pale and her face was covered in bruises, her eyes looked sunken in with large bags under her eyes and the pale flesh on her shoulders was a combination of deep purple bruises and angry red scrapes and gashes from the rocks.
How in the hell did I get here? All I remember is the attack and then wolves then the world went black. I was miles from anything. So who brought me here? Am I dead...no I can't be dead; if I was dead then I wouldn't be able to feel pain. Damn it, where in the hell am I? This can't hospital, the rooms are far too lavish, and there are no nurses looking after me. I can't rest long before I need to run...well hobble my way out of here
