Two Angels in the Morning
This story was written for the 2025 Literotica 750 Word Challenge.
Below this line are exactly 750 words:
In the early morning, a little before dawn, I rose and walked in the fresh, cool air of the mountains. Gazing to the east, toward the spot where the sun would slide upward soon, I saw mountain after mountain climbing into the sky. One could glean the impression they were islands rising from a misty ocean.
A thick fog hung in the valleys like a motionless sea. It was the summer of my 27
th
year, and I was a sad man indeed. For my wife had left me for another. As I walked, I contemplated the errors that led me to such a state of affairs.
I turned onto an old, overgrown path. The night was all but gone, the twilight growing brighter and brighter every few moments. Dipping into and out of the thick fog as I descended and arose on the winding trail, I realized the sun now hung above the horizon.
I became aware of a brown marble tombstone some 20 or 30 feet before me. On either side of the marker stood white, granite angels. They were about a foot taller than the impressive headstone. The tall, lean guardians of the grave had beautiful faces, long hair, and no clothing.
I found several things about this odd. The first strange thing that struck me was their lack of clothing. The second peculiar thing to meβwhy a lone grave with such a grand marker, tucked away in this secluded clearing. The final oddity was why I had found it only this morning.
There was no name on the marker. Only a few words of explanation.
Here Lies two Succubi.
