On a dark eerie night, a young beautiful girl named Ayana struggled to find a path through a mist shrouded forest.
She had been through this forest many times, since her childhood, playing with the butterflies as they danced through the air.
She felt safe here, the silence comforting her, a haven away from the busy village.
This night thou, it was very strange, there was a mist swirling around her feet unnatural, and the forest was silent.
The forest had taken on an unfriendly essence, illuminated by the light of a full moon, filtering through the leaves, making shadows loom between the trees.
These obscurities disturbed the girl, made her feel uneasy.
She could not shake the feeling that something was watching her, following her, always distant, but always there, something with a fathomless craving, a deep hunger.
"It's just a bit of creepy mist," the girl thought.
"Nothing but peaceful creatures live in this forest."
So she continued on her way through the forest, twigs and branches snagging at her dress.
A twig snapped, and the girl whirled around, fear causing her heart to race.
Trying hard to peer into the darkness, but unable to see anything to alarm her, she takes a deep breath to calm herself.
Turning back to the path, the girl begins to walk again, unknowingly to her; a large shadow breaks away from a nearby tree, stalking after her.
When another twig snapped, Ayana promptly turns around just in time to see a shadow slip behind a tree, something vaguely human.
Turning back toward her destination, she increases her pace, panic slowly rising within her with each step she takes.
The rustling sounds of breaking branches coming from behind her makes her fear reach new heights.
Jolting into a run, the girl blindly runs into the forest away from the noises.
Heavy footsteps reverberate behind her, accompanied by the crashing of falling branches.
The girl suddenly trips on a bare tree root, and falls to the ground.
Everything abruptly comes to a halt, and the girl waits, her body too terrified to move.
A low growl issues from the darkness somewhere behind her.
Eyes wide with fear, she locates the source, and her heart nearly stops.
Standing a short distance away, illuminated by the moonlight, was the thing of nightmares.
Standing on two hind legs, covered in black coarse fur, was a wolf of some form with feral yellow eyes, a long distinguished snout, a very broad torso, and claws that would turn an oak tree into a toothpick.
Its eyes bored into her own, into the very depth of her soul.
Looking into those wild, untamed yellow eyes, she instantly knew what the beast was thinking.
'Prey'
The wolf threw back its head and let out a howl that froze all of the blood running thru her veins and making her freeze into place by her own terror.
With what little sense left in her system she bounded up from the ground screaming, running for her life.
