"Jaxon, I assume the chores are done?" the deep voice called out in the descent sized three bedroom house. Jaxon rolled his eyes before putting down the controller and turning off the game console and then the TV.
"Doing it now Dad." he called back.
"Homework?" his Dad asked.
"Done, did it when I got home." Jaxon confirmed and saw his Dad nod. His Dad is every bit the Huge Indian that everyone sees when looking at him. Six foot Nine inches, 275lbs and barrel chested with muscles that would make many body builders jealous. Even his cat was huge with large muscles, only Raven, their Alpha was bigger or stronger. His Mom had a more European look, slim, pale porcelain skin, blonde hair and toned, her cat was a stealth fighter. She could slip into the shadows and blend easily, even though her Jaguar was more of a light tan in coloring and still when a scout was needed, she was called first.
"Good job, now if I could just get you on those chores at a descent time. Son, never put off anything that can be done right away." he Dad said loudly, knowing his Mother was listening and then whispered, "It gives you more time to play later.." Jaxon chuckled.
"I heard that!" his Mom called out from the kitchen and both laughed. Jaxon ran off to grab the trash and then dragged the cans down to the end of the road for pick up in the morning. Then grabbed an arm load of logs. Jaxon stood tall for his age and his skin tone while light still gave away his Native American heritage. He left his black hair long, like his father and learned how to keep it tied back out of his face. His sky blue eyes were the only real thing that pointed to a second heritage, he got them from his Mother.
Like his Father, his cat was solid Black and well muscled even for his young age, which suggested his human growth would be more like his Fathers build further down the road. After stacking the wood he prepared for the trip the following day. He was going to visit his Grand Mother, she had been captured years ago by a rogue Government group and used as a test subject, or more closely her Mother was while still inside her Mother. He'd grown close to his Grand Mother, loved to listen to her stories of when she'd been a Loner at one time. His sister is still too young for such travels and spends most of her time at the Day Care Center while his parents trained and taught the younger members of their pack and pride, he loved being part of the Greywolf Pack.
"Now when you are up there, you behave and do not cause trouble like last time. That man may not be your Alpha, but he is your Grand Mothers Alpha and he deserves proper respect." his Mother was saying while he mouthed her rant word for word once again. He could see his Dad hiding his smile at seeing him mocking his Mom playfully. In a flash he was face planted in the potatoes and gravy.
"And stop mocking me.." she added after swatting the back of his head. He heard his Dad fall out of his chair as he was laughing so hard. He lifted his face and wiped away the food from his face to find his Mom staring down at his Dad.
"And you, you're just incorrigible." she gruffed at him. In a swift move he saw her fall on top of him and he hugged her close. She seem to calm under his arms and melted against him, the differences between them made more apparent as she was only Five foot six inches and weighed nearly nothing by build alone. But she is a werecat and you never underestimate them by any means. He held strength, stamina, speed along with heightened senses. She was agile, speed, stamina and could also teleport. Jaxon gained two abilities when he was barely five years old, strength and speed, he could not wait to see what else his cat held for him.

Jaxon got off the Bus and was suddenly within his Grandmothers embrace, she suddenly lifted him and grabbed his bag before they were moving with several wolves through the terminal.
"We have to hurry, come on.." one of the men said as he ushered them both out of the building and into a large black SUV. Three cars, all black and SUV's drove out of the City and headed straight for the pack compound. One was in front of them while another trailed behind.
"What is going on Gran?" Jaxon asked. She looked at him finally and checked him over, once satisfied she sat back a little calmer.
"The humans know of us and have begun a campaign of attack against all shifters." she explained sadly. She was hiding something, of that he was sure.
"Give her a moment Jax, she is grieving.." his cat sent to him and his eyes widened a bit at that news.
"The humans flew over a pack and dropped bombs on the compound, it was the Greywolf Pack." she said softly, "We know your Mom and Dad are okay they were out patrolling when it happened, but one of the bombs landed on the Day Care Center."
"Suzy!" Jaxon cried out and saw her break down in tears and hug him close. He knew that was why the bond felt off for some reason. It had confused both his cat and him about half way through the bus ride, but with no way to communicate through the family bond he couldn't find out anything. He watched his Grandmother pull out a cheap looking phone.
"He's here, we have five minutes to the compound." she said quickly and shoved the phone into his hand.
"Jaxon?" his Father asked and he started to sob quietly.
"You stay with your Grand Mother, stay safe and remember one thing always and forever. We love you with all our hearts, your duty is to your Alpha first and foremost, you will know them when your cat says they are worthy. Stay safe my son.." he said with the same steel in his voice that he always held.
"Jaxon, be good and make us proud, I love you so much, you are our life, keep safe." his Mother said on the line and then it went dead and he handed it back to his Grandmother as he stared down at his hands. His Sister was dead, he would never forgive the Humans for this cowardice attack.
