In regards to those mentioning needing a editor and spell checking. Well. I've gone through four editors already. As soon as they hear that it is a long series, they aren't interested in helping me after the chapter/s they worked on. And for spelling. I do use two different spell checks so I submit when both show up correct spelling. If you have any suggestions of any good spell checkers, let me know please and I'll try to improve it.
CHAPTER SIX
Over the next week, the brothers and women stayed in the forest. The tribe knew not to go near them over the next week so they were never interrupted. Over that time, the spirits returned to them. Each time, letting a little more information about the child.
It was during one of the last days Ulisi finally shifted back to human. Everyone had to take a double look at her because of the major physical changes. She seemed to turn back time with her appearance. The only thing that never changed was her silver hair and the pale blue eyes. The rest of her looked like the same age as Maria or Dee. Except for her hair, she could pass off by being their sister.

It was on the last day when Bear finally spoke fully of what happened.
Bear looked at them and the cub bounded over to him and sat in his lap. He stroked the thick fur and listening to the little grumbles from the small bear. "I think I have made a mistake by asking you to care for the child. The Council believes I should leave him with one of them," Bear said softly.
Maria growled at that comment. "I certainly do not think so, Brother. A child should be in a loving family."
Bear looked over to her and then to the others sitting with them. "Do you each believe that? Do you want to be the cubs guardians?"
The brothers looked between themselves then Eric looked towards Dee and Ulisi. He gave each a smile before moving a hand over to Maria. "We're sure, Brother. We want to be his guardians. You and the other spirits can drop in on us at any time to make sure we're doing the job well. If you don't believe he's in a loving home, then we'll accept if you take him."
With a slight nod, Bear started to explain. "Over the last one hundred years, someones been hunting the bears down." Then softly sighed. "I know their coven, but we've never been able to track who exactly it is. Up until the last attack they had only gone after one family at a time." He moved his hand lightly over the dark hair of the baby sleeping in his arms. "But this last attack, it was done simultaneously."
Eric just stared listening to the spirit speaking. He couldn't believe what they were being told. "Why didn't we know about it?".
"The Council believed they were just after the bears. None of the other Were's were targeted like the bears were," Bear answered simply. He carefully stood up and laid the baby down on the bear fur, watching him curl up before settling down before he went back over and sat down with the others. "This last attack tho, we didn't know it was going to happen until it was to late."
During his last words, Brother Wolf appeared behind them and added. "That's why I was late." He walked over to sit down next to his brother. "We were at the Council when Bear felt pain and each of us who could teleport went to the families to see them slain."
Bear looked over to Wolf. "Only the boy and an adult was alive when we got there. We froze time to get them out. But like whenever we use our abilities, if we interrupt," he sighed again as the images flash in his memory.
Wolf touched his brothers arm. "The adult we got out, he said everyone started to yawn even tho it was early, but they didn't feel the need to contact anyone to tell them something was happening. Everyone that the Council had set as guards to the families were killed as well. It was well organized."
Then Bear took over once more. "The bears were killed at the exact same time, and I mean in the different locations as well." He shook his head a little. "The pain when I felt them die, all at the same time."
Maria softly asked, "So each spirit is linked to the spirits that are given to the human?"
Wolf nodded. "Yes we are. Some deaths are more painful than others. If they die of old age, we're there for them and we lead them to their next life. If it's in war, then they have a warriors death and we're proud but a death against their will like this attack, when they are under from some sort of ability. The pain is unimaginable. With multiple deaths like that at one time." He shook his head, not wanting to imagine what his brother went thru.
Eric and Richard stood up and started to pace the area. Then Eric spoke, "Call all the spirits to meet at the chambers. If people are going to be after the boy then we'll need everyone on side."
Richard agreed. "I'll call the vamp bosses as soon as we're back to make sure they keep their ears open for anyone new in town. And I'll give the big bosses a call to get them in the meeting as well."
Eric nodded at that then looked over to Wolf and Bear. "Can one of you, tell the Council what we're doing? We'll get a couple of them in on this as well so we're all on the same page."
Both the spirits nodded. "We'll ask Gabriella and Nikolia to come. She is the one who was heading the protection up," Bear answered.
Eric, Richard and Dee each chuckled. Dee saw the expression across Maria and Ulisi's faces and grinned. "It was the both of those two which made us into who we are today."
Maria nodded slowly, then Wolf continued, "They are born, elemental wolves. They are part of the council which oversees our kind and they are,...." he paused for a moment to figure out the right word. "They are like the law enforcement for all non-human kind."
Eric chuckled. "And they are the only two people I know who can win a fight against us in their human forms."
Lost in thoughts, Maria began to think how strong this Gabriella and Nikolia was if they could handle Eric in his wolves, after he said that as wolves, normal were's couldn't win against him.
