These short stories are simply filler material for stories that simply couldn't be added to Silver Moon. They are unedited and simply knocked out for your viewing pleasure. I will indicate what chapter the mini-stories should be with as well.

I hope you enjoy these as they expand on the main story. Oh, there might be some minor discrepancies but ignore them. This series of vignettes are simply sort of expanding on the main story. If something is different than the main story go with what is in the main story.

Vignette 1

When Mari showed him to the office Dan had been struck by the gaudiness of it. Some of the artwork and other items were of very good quality. The rest of it clashed with the rest and was threatening to give him a migrane. "God, I am going to have to clean this place out or I will run screaming. How the hell could he stand to be in here or is that why things are stuffed willy-nilly? He stuffed and ran?"

Mari looked at his expression and barely managed not to laugh. He was looking totally disgusted and revolted by the office. "He actually rather liked this office and his rooms are decorated similarly." She looked back down at the floor after she said that but she couldn't miss the grunt he made.

"No wonder he was such a piece of shit. Anyone that enjoyed this shit must have been totally loco." That was a definite growl. "After the meeting get some boxes and we are going to empty this room out and sell all this crap. Might make a bit of money out of it." Dan walked over to a globe that was a map of the planet and had to blink. His America was there but wasn't listed. What was listed was a continent named New Nordla and the divisions were wrong and there weren't any states. It had countries like New Dutchland and Reichland.

"Oh god, what the hell? Where the hell am I? How did I get here?" He staggered slightly and before he knew it Mari was there with an arm around him and was holding him up.

"Alpha what is wrong?" She didn't understand what he was saying or why. All she knew about him was he had been brought in several days ago and chained in one of the rooms downstairs. Yes she had been tasked with caring for him but he had mostly been out of it or raving about his lost family.

"This isn't my world. I recognize the continents but not some of the names or countries for..." He slowly moved over to a chair and almost flopped in it. Once seated he buried his head in his hands and tried not to freak out any more than he was. If he did he was going to lose it and in a bad way.

She didn't really comment since she wasn't really sure what to say. He almost sounded slightly bent but she wasn't going to say that. The last thing they needed was a demented Alpha. The last one had been bad but that could be even worse for the pack, or what remained of it. Instead she simply wrapped her arms around his head and held him.

After a few minutes he managed to force the encroaching darkness away and slowly stood up and walked over to the chair behind his new desk and settled down. "I need to you stand behind me Mari and simply rest your hands on my shoulders. It will keep my wolf from going nuts."

Dan returned to the office after the meeting and lunch. His damn room was going to need to be cleaned out as well. It was even worse than the office and he was going to have to sleep in there now. "God, what the hell was wrong with that idiot? At least the artwork is high quality even if all of it stuck in here clashes big time." Some he would keep but most of it was going to the shed and for Saul to sell back.

Mari had slowly walked to the office and leaned against the door and watched Dan staring at the items in the room. "He was sort of crazy about artwork. All kinds and types, he fancied himself as an art connoisseur." She tried not to make that sound sarcastic but it came across that way.

He simply grunted. "Go get some boxes and wrapping paper while I start selecting the pieces that I am going to get rid of." Dan moved to one corner and started pulling pieces off the shelves and placing them on the desk. He was going to need a number of boxes but that wasn't going to be a problem. He was sure Saul would have plenty for him to use.

"Already done Alpha, there are several men coming with some boxes and packing material for the items." As she was speaking Saul was walking down the hallway as well as several others with boxes and what looked like scraps of material to pack the stuff in. "Saul has some help and they can pack up what you don't want in here and then we can go to your rooms and take care of them Alpha."

Dan sighed at the 'Alpha' bit. He was going to have to address that eventually but right now he simply wanted to clean the rooms and keep busy. "Good and thanks Saul. I don't have any idea how he acquired this stuff but I am sure you can figure out a way to sell it right? Do your best and bring some money into the pack."

Saul couldn't help but smile. "Yes Alpha, I can deal with this and I know who I can sell it through though it will take some time. I hope that isn't a problem." He was starting to carefully package the items that Dan was removing from the shelves. "You are making some good choices on what to keep and what to get rid of sir." Some of the items he was keeping were the most expensive but very tasteful. The ones he was getting rid of were tacky at best though worth a great deal.

He grunted again. "Good and make sure you use the money for food. I am not going to have my pack starve the women and older pups to make sure the men have all the meat they want." That was a definite growl and when the men flinched he growled again. "All of you men are in for a huge awaking since I do run my pack totally differently. You will get used to it I hope." There was an implicit threat in that and they flinched.

Several of the men did flinch but Dan ignored it and kept moving things to his desk. Eventually they were done and as one box was filled up another was set down for Saul to fill. Once they had emptied the room of the stuff he didn't want he moved to his rooms and started there. It took a good portion of the day but once it was done he was satisfied that they would get a good amount of money back to support the pack.

Yesterday he had cleaned out his office and bed room of most of the worst of the 'art' crap and almost had a decent nights sleep. Today he really needed to finish looking around the house and figuring out what needed to be done. There was so much that was wrong with this pack that he almost didn't know where to start. The house was in decent shape and once they finished cleaning it up and fixing the problems it would be in good shape.

The pack though was damaged and he would have to work hard to actually fix it. What he needed to do he wasn't really sure since he was damaged in his own way. All he could do was to keep trying to move forward. Mari was curled up next to him and he carefully rolled out of bed and went to the bathroom for his morning routine. When he came out she was dressed in the cloths she had been wearing the previous day.

"Go get some clean cloths little one and I will see you later." He pulled on some cloths that sort of fit but were sort of odd since they were definitely old fashioned to him. The shirt was lose and had long sleeves and the pants were almost pirate looking. The underwear were not all that comfortable as well.

Breakfast was definitely awkward and uncomfortable since the pack really didn't know what to make of Dan. His commands were very confusing. He had killed the top three yet made rules that were mostly sort of in place but some weren't. Bonding with them was totally unknown and the feelings and sensations in their mind were hard to sort out.

Eventually they were done eating and Dan wandered out of the room. Right now what he was looking for was the armory to see what they actually had. His opinion on challenge fights was sort of different. Valid fights were okay but when you wanted to kill a lycan you needed either a really good sword or a gun with silver. The silver didn't kill them directly but kept healing to a minimum till it was removed. Till he knew what weapons were available he wouldn't be able to protect the pack as best possible.

"Mari I need you to show me to the armory or whatever you call it. Guns, knives, weapons, you know." Dan told her after breakfast was over. "I have to know so I can protect the pack. That is what is keeping me going right now." When she moved over to him he gently pulled her towards him and scented her neck to keep his wolf under control.

Mari still wasn't comfortable with him touching her but her wolf was. It was sort of hard to deal with since to her wolf what was important was now and tomorrow. To the human part the past was more important than now and the future since the past indicated what the future was going to be like. "I will show you Dan." That was hard but he had ordered it and she had to listen to his orders

A few moments later she showed him the room and he stared at the heavy door. "Well crap, I was hoping there would be a light opening but not looking at this." He was going to have to kick the damn thing down.

"Sir, are you wanting into the room?" It was one of the pup, maybe 15 or so. "I can let you in since it was Dad's job to take care of." The boy was looking down at the floor and was almost as scrawny as some of the women and kids.

"Please son, I really don't want to have to try and kick the door open." Dan looked at the boy and when he was an adult he was going to be moderately dominant if he had any say to it. The boy typed in the combo and the door opened for him. Dan walked in and almost snarled since it was in such a shambles. "God what a POS your former Alpha was. We are going to need to clean this room up."

The room was a mess of old weapons. There were some hunting rifles, revolvers and a few other weapons. Most of them were in bad shape with rust and other issues. "Damn it, who would let this get in this bad of a condition. I am going to need to go through each and every gun in here to make sure it is in usable condition."

Shannon really hated his name but it was what his parents had given him when he was born. He looked down when his new alpha walked into the room and growled. He had tried to keep everything in some sort of order but the former alpha hadn't let him have enough time. "So sorry Alpha, so sorry I couldn't, I just don't know enough." He lowered his head though the tears were rollowing down.

Dan looked at him and gathered him close. "Not your fault youngling. You shouldn't have to worry about this." Damn it there was so much he had to deal with and the former alpha should have been killed a long time ago. "I am going to look through this room and need your help since you are the son of the former armorer or so I assume."

"Yes sir, I will help you as much was possible." Shannon slowly moved into the room and looked around. The room was in the best condition he could keep it but he figured the new alpha was going to have issues with him and how he had kept the room.

Dan released him and started working his way around the room and realized everything was old style. The weapons were definitely from the 50's or so much like the art that he had gotten rid of. Now he needed clean the armory out. "God, what to pick and choose the best weapons for the pack son."

Shannon looked at his Alpha and then at the room. "I can make some suggestions if you would like sir." The best weapons were on the walls thought his former alphas couldn't or wouldn't listen to him when he mentioned them.

Dan sighed and sort of waved in his direction. "I am more than capable of looking at what is both of the walls and piled up son. I have to admit I would be interested to see exactly what weapons you might find interesting." Most of the weapons were what he would considered old fashioned. There were pump action shot guns, bolt action rifles, and revolvers. There were very few of what he would consider semi-auto rifles and pistols and most of them were also old styles. "God anything full auto, or just old fashioned crap?"

"Sir? Not sure what you mean by full auto sir but the few really good weapons are in the safe and only he had the safe." Shannon pointed at what looked like an old fashioned gun safe.

Dan sighed. "Let me guess, you don't have the combo and neither did your father when he was around right?" God what else was going to go wrong right now? The idiot who he had killed should have died from general stupidity. "God he should have his sign hanging around his neck." That was a comment related to the 'what's your sign' video.

Shannon looked down. "Um, I do know the combo sir but only a one day combo and after that the safe locks itself. You would need a professional safe repair person to fix it. You could get in thought." He was sure that he was going to get beat for having that information.

"Oh hell son, open the damn thing and we can strip it down till we can get it fixed and find out what is in it." It could only be better than the sporting crap that was in the main armory, or so he could hope. When they boy moved over he watched him carefully open it and as soon as it was open Dan moved over and started pulling stuff out.

"Son move this stuff somewhere else and just pile it up we are going to need to go through the room and decide what we are going to keep. There are more weapons than we need since there are more per person but most of it is old fashion stuff. At the very least I would like..." He waved his hand. "Never mind, it doesn't really matter what I want, I have to work with what we have."

Dan sighed. "Well son, we are going to go through each and every weapon and since you seem to have some sort of idea of what is in here and what might be worth something. I am going to help you and I am going to pick your brain." The boy looked more than startled and somewhat scared. "Relax son I won't hurt you if you honestly try your best. Don't lie to me and don't try to challenge me and you will be fine."

The rest of the day Dan spent with Shannon and the boy did have a great deal of information but there was no way Dan could make him the actual armorer since he was so young. By the end of the day they had a good selection of the guns sorted. "Okay son, I don't have time to finish this based on my knowledge. You are going to go through here and make a list of the other weapons that we might want to keep. Do your best son and I will review it."

The boy froze for a moment and Dan shook his head. "I am not looking for a way to beat on you. I am looking for the best way to keep the pack safe and I want a list of standardized calibers and a good list of rifles, pistols, and shotguns." There were one or two automatic weapons but they looked they were like from WWII such as the sturmguvere and the sten gun.
