Luna sat crying in her bedroom after being broken up with on her twentieth birthday. She wiped the tears away and blew put the candle on the cupcake she bought herself.
"Happy birthday to me..." She sighed.
She didn't understand why he left. She was devoted, fit, and was above average in looks. She never assumed she was the hottest person on earth, but decidedly not a troglodyte. At that moment, she remembered, as a kid, she used to make a wish when blowing out candles; figured she had nothing else to lose and made a wish. She closed her eyes tightly hoping that it would make it come true.
When Luna opened her eyes, she was in a forest. But unlike other woodlands she was used to, this one's trees were tightly packed together; as if they were solid walls. She looked around whilst attempting to gather her bearings. To no avail. This place was foreign to her. 'This isn't the wish I made.'
She placed her hands on the tree wall, in hopes that she could push through. Tried as she might, nothing worked. Luna decided that she couldn't stay here, and figured the way out would be to follow along the corridor.
She walked for several hours, but perceived to be longer with all the twisting and turning in this labyrinth. She was typically adept at hedge mazes, but this was ridiculous. Looking up in exhaustion, she noticed that the walls opened into a modest wooded area that had a tiny stream running through it and under the partitions. Next to the current, there was a sign; it was written in a language she had never seen before, but for some reason, she could read it. The signboard indicated that the water was safe for drinking for weary travellers, but merely take as much as needed, lest the Fae will inflict a harsh punishment.
Luna pondered that it was amusing how people here thought that fairies were anything but mythological, when all of a sudden a wooden ladle for drinking materialized next to her. Spooked, she crawled backwards till her back hit a tree. She heard a giggling from all around her. Then, a soft whisper in her ear spoke to her.
"Do not be scared. I know you aren't from this world, but I won't hurt you."
"That's a likely story! You tell me you aren't anything scary, and then stab me in the back? I think not!"
The fairy materialized in front of her and sat on her knees. The tiny figure had long metallic blue hair, vibrant wings of the same colour, and a pair of antennas from the top of her forehead. The newcomer may be miniscule and oddly naked, but she was attractive. This appeared to assuage Luna's fear a tad. The fairy gazed up at her with a smile on her face. She gleaned a decent look at her giant guest. Luna had long brown hair that she kept in a French braid, a soft button nose, and full kissable lips. Her breast, hidden under her sweater, weren't huge, but ample enough on the higher end of average. She had wide hips and round butt that her yoga pants held on to for dear life.
"Here in this world, fairies are considered blessings. We rarely appear to people unless we like them, or in this case, need a guiding hand. I know talk is cheap, but there's not much I can do to prove to you that I'm not evil. I just hope that you'll come to trust me a little. First though, you need to drink something my precious."
At the mention of the pet name 'precious', Luna delved into a flashback of her grandmother always calling her that. She nodded and stood up. The fairy flew up and over to the stream. Luna grabbed the ladle and scooped a healthy amount of liquid, then brought it to her lips. She gulped it down and was amazed at how refreshingly cool the water was. For the first time since entering this place, a smile formed on her face.
"You look so beautiful with a smile on your face. It's nice to see."
The fairy flitted in front of her.
"OH! Thank you. It's been a rough day. I'm Luna by the way, what's yours?"
The fairy sat down on her shoulder and whispered it in her ear.
"My name is Aurora, that's just between you and me as I'm coming to like you."
Aurora kissed her on the cheek and giggled.
Luna sat under the previous tree with the Fae sitting in her hands. The fairy was asked several questions. Such as to where they are, and how to leave. She told her human companion that the goddess had cast a spell on the planet eons ago, and that it had turned the world into a massive labyrinth. She explained that in this land, there are virtually no humans. They are considered a myth and aren't native to this planet. The deity tends to bring people from earth who are issuing something they need from their lives, and believes that she can help them by transporting them here.
The whole time Luna struggled to keep her eyes on aurora's, as she discovered the penis between her legs. The Fae noticed and smirked. She explained that on this world there is but one gender that has both sets of genitals. Separate genders are all but unheard of, unless you are of the mythological 'human'.
After a couple of hours, Luna sat there in contemplation of her new situation. Being alone in a whole new world. Luckily she didn't have any family left and wouldn't have to see her ex-boyfriend any more. She looked down at her new Fae friend, whom was staring at her feet whilst wiggling her toes and giggling.
"So what do you recommend I do now? Do I just stay lost in this endless maze? Should I find this city you mentioned?"
Aurora scrunched her nose in thought. She plops her fist in the palm of her other hand in a eureka moment.
"Well whatever you decide to do, why don't I tag along? It's been years since I've been on a journey with a sexy lady!"
Luna blushed slightly.
"What about your stream? Don't you have to watch over it?"
"Naw! That sign is usually a good enough deterrent. People here never want to upset us Fae. Now come, let's go!"
She leads the charge ahead. Luna chuckled to herself and followed suit.
As they journeyed, they talked more about the lore of this place, whilst Luna answered inquiries into her world. That's when Luna had a question that she was curious to know; more than any others.
"Hey, Aurora. I was wondering something. Your sign said that if they didn't obey, you'd punish them. If Fae aren't supposed to be evil... What kind of punishment are we talking about?"
The fairy giggled.
"I would show up and give them sad puppy eyes and guilt them into asking for forgiveness. If they still didn't, I would follow them around and appear at random, and important occasions with the sad look."
