In the morning we quickly got dressed and headed off. Damien was very quite. I knew why. He was as stunned as I was about my powers.
He eventually spoke as we were making camp that evening.
"Look, I'm sorry! It's just that you're extremely powerful. Much more powerful than I expected you to be. If you must know, I'm a little scared of what you can do."
I looked at him.
"Its okay Damien. I'll be honest with you. I'm also afraid of this power as well."
He looked at me. "You are?"
"Of course I am!"
He hugged me tightly. "Just remember, whatever happens I will always be here for you." he said as he kissed me.
"So, tell me what are your powers?" I asked.
He looked at me.
"Well, if we're going to be mated I'd like to know a bit more about you." I said.
"True!" he said as he giggled. He turned me to face a log.
"You see the log?" he asked. I nodded. He gave a motion with his hand the log moved about a foot or so.
"You can move things with your mind?" I asked.
"Yes, though I can't move things very far."
I looked at the log and made the motion with my hand the log flew towards us. I screamed and panicked and the log froze in mid air. Damien just looked at me then at the log then finally sense came into him. He pulled me out of the way of the log as it started to move again and flew past us.
I looked at Damien. "What just happened?"
"I think you're starting to really tap into your powers." he said.
I said,"Oh fun!"
He just hugged me tight.
"Do you think you could start a fire if were out of matches?"
I nodded. I had a fire going in no time at all. Damien held me tight against his chest as I fell asleep. When I awoke we were in the tent. I didn't feel at all well that morning. I ran out of the tent and vomited next to a tree. Damien came running out of the tent.
He asked, "What's wrong? Are you okay?".
"I just don't fell well, that's all. But we'll keep going." I said.
Damien rubbed my back as I vomited. We waited until I stopped vomiting before we set off. Damien stayed close to me. He was on edge.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
He stopped. "We're being followed!" he said.
I looked around but I couldn't hear anything. However, I trusted Damien.
"Sara when I say run. You run and don't come back for me. Use your sword if you must."
I nodded as he drew his sword.
"Run and don't come back! I will come and find you go!"
I turned around and ran as fast as I could. I could hear yelling and sword clashing upon sword. But I kept on running. I tripped over a small log. A strong pair of hands grabbed me and pulled me up. At first I thought it was Damien, but a second look told me differently.
"Sara are you okay?" Leo asked.
I started to shake. Where the hell was Damien? My stomach was still feeling off and I vomited over Leo's shoes. Leo lifted me up and carried me off. I was in no fit state to fight. He brought me to a camp and laid me down. I looked around and got very confused as there weren't any other people there.
Damien stepped into the camp. I rolled over and vomited.
"Do you have anything that can help her Leo?" he asked.
I looked between the two of them and then focused on Damien.
"You're a traitor?" I said to Damien.
"No! I'm the traitor!" Leo said.
I looked at him. "What do you mean?"
He handed me a cup of something but there was no way I was going to drink it.
"Drink, you will feel better it's not poison." Leo said.
"There's no way am trusting you." I spat at him.
Damien took the cup and drank from it.
"See, now trust my judgement." he said.
I took the cup and drank it. I had to admit I did feel better.
"So, how come your betraying James?"
Leo looked at me.
"Because he has forgotten all that we werewolves are and are supposed to be! Werewolves are not viscous like he's making us out to be. He needs to be stopped!"
"Then why come to us?" I asked.
Leo looked at Damien "Do you want to tell her the story or should I?" he asked.
Damien responded, "I will, Leo."
"Tell me what?"
Damien looked at me and took a deep breath. "Before I was a vampire and Leo a werewolf, we were brothers!"
I looked at them both. "Why are you only telling me this now?" I couldn't believe it. Brothers!
Damien responded. "There was no need to tell you, until now, and since even the council doesn't know, I am asking you not to tell them."
