Chapter 6

Daniel walked straight to his sister and grabbed her by the arm, pulling her up out of her chair. "What were you thinking sending Kailie in there!"

"Daniel let go of my arm." She said pushing him away. "I knew she wanted to see you, so I just let her know that you were here. How was I suppose to know she was going to get out of bed and come in there. It's not like she interrupted anything." Raising an eyebrow. "Did she?"

"That's not the point Gladise." Looking around for Anya, he notice she wasn't in the front waiting area. "Where did she go?"

"She walked out front with the pup. She's fine."

Daniel could sense that she was close, but he could also sense that she wasn't out front. "She's not out front." He said as he stormed out the door.

Gladise didn't really care for humans, except this one. She hated this human. How dare she think she can come into this pack and think she could have her brother. What was her brother thinking. She wasn't even healthy for a human. Her brother was second in command. Not some lowly No-Ranked Were. There was no way she was going to let some sickly human mate her brother and have some sickly pups in their strong bloodline. There was just no way.

"Well that didn't go well." Kailie said coming up behind Gladise.

"Don't worry about the human, she's just a distraction for him. For now. She'll be out the way soon enough." Gladise promised.

Daniel walked out of the infirmary and followed her sent back to through flower garden. He moved quickly, worrying about her being out alone on the compound where any wolf could get ahold of her. He found her and Lucien rummaging through the basket where they left it.

"It's not safe for you to just walk off and around with out a chaperone."

"Yeah well I was hungry, and I have to eat after I take my insulin or I get worse. I didn't have time to wait until you and Little Mrs. Perfect finished making out." She said refusing to look at him.

"We weren't making out."

"Yeah what ever." She said as she opened a soda can she found in the basket.

He sat down next to her on the grass and took the basket. "Here let me get your food while I explain."

"There's no need to explain anything. Luna already told me that you both "kick it" every now and then. It's cool. What ever."

Daniel took a deep breath. He really didn't want to go a round with her stubbornness, so he opted to just explain anyway as he placed out food for him, her, and Lucien to eat. "Yes Kailie and I were never a couple of sorts. We were strictly sex-"

"I really DON'T want to hear about this, ok." She said trying to cut him off.

Daniel continued anyway. "You have to understand Were life."

"Yes I heard you all 'hunt' and 'hunt' often. Until you find a mate. Blah, blah, blah."

"Yes, we 'hunt', as you say, often. I myself, like to save my hunt for when I'm in the wild, in wolf from. Preferably a large deer to take down. So I don't 'hunt' like most Were do with the pack females. Not 'hunting' like most male Were can tend to confuse a female that you might be looking to settle down, maybe even mate them. I'm afraid Kailie was just a little confused."

Anya opened the food that was handed to her. It looked like it was a warm turkey sandwich with all the fixin's. She took a bite and was in heaven. She had never had a sandwich like this before in her life. She had to get the recipe. Focusing back on the conversation at hand. "So what your saying is she is just confused about you two that's why she is always half way in your lap rather than standing?"

"Yes, I guess." He said as he stuffed his mouth with his sandwich.

"Well you must do a hell of a job of confusing her." She said nervously, thinking about that bulge she saw earlier today. She was sure that could make any woman at a lost for what's real.

"Anya, are you feeling ok?"

"What? Huh, um yeah. I'm fine, sorry." Anya realized that she was lost in thought. "What did you just say?"

"I said that I told her that she was no longer a factor, she's just having a hard time accepting it."

"Looks like it."

"Anyway how is your sandwich?" He asked finally trying to change the subject.

Anya was glad for the conversation change. "Its great. I've never had a sandwich like this before. Much better than the turkey and mayo I'm used too."

"I'm sure Braxton will be thrilled you like it. He likes the change from red meat everything. He's also glad that someone will be happy to eat the vegetables he puts out."

"Well it's not as if he'll have to cook for me everyday. Finals are the day after tomorrow. So just one more day of studying and I'll be out of your hair. Thats even if Luna and Gregg work out what ever it is they needed to work out, and she comes out that room."

Daniel didn't like to think of her not being around. "I'm sure they'll work out what they need to."

"So what's the deal with them? I thought mates mate for life. The way Kailie made it seem they are on the verge of a break up. Can mates cheat? Is he cheating on her? Kailie said that he spends more time out of their bed then in it. What's the deal with that?"

"Whoa, slow down. You ask a lot of questions at once."

"Sorry, I'm used to wolves that can keep up. I forgot all muscle." She said poking his pecs with a laugh.

"Do you have a problem with my muscles." He said as he flexed a bicep.

"No I don't have a problem with your muscles, it's the fact that they take up a lot of your brain space."

"I have a lot of brain space. I could probably help you with your calculus better than Luna."

"Yeah right. How much college have you had?"

"I've done my four years plus, and top of my class I might add."

Four years 'plus' Anya thought. "How old are you?"

Daniel let out a nervous laugh. He didn't want to get on the subject of his age. He was sure she was not ready for that.

"Uncle Danny, uncle Danny!"

Thank God for small miracle he thought as as his twin niece and nephew came running towards him.

"Hey guys. What are you doing here?" He looked at Anya. "Anya, these are my niece and nephew, Meeka and Marcus. Meeka, Marcus, this is Anya."

Anya gave the twins a wave hello.

"We were going for a run, and daddy said that we should ask Lucien if he wanted to come." Said Meeka.

"Well you'll have to ask his mother if he can go." Daniel told her.

"Please O please can Lucien come for a run with us?" Meeka asked.

"Um, is there adult supervision in this run? Is it safe for him to run with real werewolves?"

"They'll be fine. Plenty of adults will be present." Daniel said.

"Well then if it's ok with him then it's ok with me." Anya was nervous about letting Lucien out of her sight again. Was running with werewolves really safe for a dog?

"Come on Lucien, it will be fun." Meeka told Lucien. She was already beginning to jog away.

Lucien walked over to Anya gave her a lick and a bark and galloped away to catch up with the twins.

Anya looked at Daniel, "Are you sure he'll be safe? He's not built like y'all. I don't want him to get hurt."

"He'll be fine. Don't worry. Finish eating."

"You don't want me to eat, you're probably just still hungry. Where do you put all of that? As much as you eat you should be as big as a house."

"Wolves' metabolisms burn food a lot faster than humans'. I could eat all day and wouldn't gain a single pound."

"Don't let the humans know, they'll all want to be a werewolf so they can keep thin."

"Speaking of staying thin, is that all you're gonna eat? You barely touched your food."

"Well you're use to eating a lot. I'm used to eating when I can, and only a little. So, sorry if I'm thin by Were standards."

"I think you look just fine." He said scooting close to her so he could rub his hand down her thigh. "I wouldn't change a thing."

"Slow down there Goliath." She said taking his hand off her thigh. "So about the questions I was asking."

Clearing his throat, Daniel was unhappy about his hand being removed from her thigh. "What questions would those be? You asked me like a million."

"Well let's just stick with the ones about Luna and Gregg for now. You know, the things Kailie said."

"Don't put to much stake in the things that Kailie says. She likes to start trouble. Despite the nick name you've given to her, she is far from perfect."

"Well there had to be some truth into what she said to cause Luna to freak out like that."

"Gregg is a Beta, a high ranking Beta. He spends a lot of time during the day away being Luna's body guard. There is a lot pack business he has to attend to. He does most of that when he gets home. It can keep him out late at night. As far as the toll it's taking on their relationship, you'd have to ask Luna. But mates do mate for life, and there is no force strong enough to break the bonds that mates share."

"What's a Beta?"

Daniel chuckled at her puzzled face. "The pack hierarchy. First is the Alpha. He's in charge of the pack as a whole. He's responsible for everyone in the pack's safety. Then there is the Alpha's second. He's the Alpha's right hand man. He helps the Alpha maintain control of his pack. Betas are next. They're like the armed forces. Should there be need for battle, well the Alpha, his second, and the Betas would fight to protect the pack. Then there are the Omegas, they help with the Runnings of the pack. The cooking, cleaning, things like that in a sense."

"And where are you in the pack hierarchy?"

"I am the Alpha's second." He said proudly.

"No wonder why all the girls are all after you. You're like the man after the man. So if Davian quit, you'd be the Alpha next?" Again Anya sees that for someone who's best friend is a Were, she sure didn't know much about pack life at all.

"Technically Marcus would be next in line. I would be second to Marcus then."

"You mean to tell me that little Silent Bob that I just met is suppose to take care of this whole pack?"

"Hey! You leave my nephew alone. He's the strong silent type. The ladies love that."

Something just dawned on Anya. If Meeka, and Marcus were Daniel's niece and nephew, and their dad is Davian the Alpha; then that means Davian and Daniel are brothers.

"Are you ok?" Daniel asked noticing the perplexed look on her face.

"Yeah sometimes the wheels in my head work in slow motion. I just realized that you and Davian are brothers."

"No wonder why you need help in calculus." he couldn't help but laugh.

Anya couldn't help but laugh with him. "Oh, hush."

"Come on, let me take a look at that calculus and see how you're doing. They'll bring Lucien up when they're done."

"Calculus. Yay." Anya's voice was dripping with sarcasm.

"You know you're cute when you're being sarcastic."

"Shut up!" Anya looked away so he couldn't see her blush.

They made their way back to the house in silence. Anya didn't know what to make of everything that happened in the last couple of hours. Seconds, Betas, and Omegas. Daniel calling her cute. Making out with him! What in the world is going on! Did she like him? Did he like her? It was all just way to confusing. Maybe she should just get her things and head out, and skip tomorrow's study session.

Daniel wanted to tell her so much more. Tell her all about his feelings for her. Tell her how beautiful he thought she was. How he loved her stubbornness, her strength. Should he tell her that he couldn't even think about her not returning tomorrow, or the next day.

They dropped off the basket in the kitchen, and then headed to Daniel's room. When they got to Daniel's room, Anya went straight for the couch and took out her books and notes to study. Daniel quickly joined her on the couch.

"Lets see what you got here." Daniel said as he grabbed her books and notes from her. He saw that she wanted to protest, so he held his finger over her lips to keep her from arguing. "I said that I could probably help you. Now let me see."

Anya let him have her books and notes. She really didn't want to go over them anyway. She watched as he flipped through the pages of her book, and notes. He had a look of understanding. Like he knew everything he was reading. His eyebrows kept squishing together, then raising like he was surprised. He looked so adorable like that.

"So," He said at length. "What seems to be giving you a hard time?"

"Um, it just doesn't seem to want to stick. It's like, I put the information in there, and then when I need it, it's gone." She tried to explain.

"Well, maybe it's the way you're trying to store it." Daniel went into ways to help Anya remember her work. Just going over the work with her, Daniel could tell how really smart she was. Given a better parental up-bringing, she wouldn't have to feel the need to be so stubborn, or always so defensive. He couldn't have been there to protect her in the past, but he knew that in the future, he would move heaven and earth to do so.

The tricks Daniel was teaching her, really made sense. She could tell he was really smart. She could also tell that the more time they spent on the couch, the closer they were sitting together. She could breath in his earthy sent. She could compare it to spring time, just after it rains. When the earth smells clean and clear. He was beautiful.

Daniel could feel her warmth, she was so close. Her scent filled his whole mind every time he inhaled. Her beauty filled his eyes every time he looked at her, he didn't want to blink afraid he might miss one second of her beauty. He knew she was it. Who he has been waiting for, for so long. He knew he had found his mate. He just had to figure out how to make her see that they were meant for each other.

"You okay over there?" Anya asked after she notice a far away look in his eyes.

"Your beautiful." He said it before he even thought about if it were the right words to say. But he meant it. Before she could say anything, he covered her lips with his. Just lightly at first. Just enough to make him want more. The books that were on their laps, he pushed on the floor. He had to get closer.

She was lost in him. If this was wrong, she wouldn't know. All she knew was his light kisses weren't enough. She wanted to taste more of him. He used her surprise of him pushing the books on the floor to slip his tongue in, and Anya was in heaven at the taste of him. As the kiss deepened, Anya pulled him closer. She could feel his hand tracing the hem of her shirt. When his fingers touched her bare skin of her stomach, her whole body caught fire. She moaned her appreciation for the feel of him. His hands moved slowly, giving her time to tell him to stop if she wanted. But why would she want to? His touch was driving her insane. The more he touched her, the more it wasn't enough.

Anya's combative reaction to Daniel breaking the kiss was enough for him to give a slight chuckle, before he placed a kissed on the sensitive part behind her lower ear. He continued to place seductive kisses up and down her neck, while his hands rose higher and higher.

When his hand stopped at the bottom of her bra, she arched her back to invite him to continue. He moved back to her lips as he dove his hand under her bra. His hand on her breast was like a switch that turned on all the liquid heat to flood to her core.

Arousal filled the air. The taste of her skin, her mouth, the feel of her large breast in his hand was amazing to Daniel. He rolled her nipple between his thumb and forefinger. As she moaned her pleasure into his mouth, his inner animal came closer to the surface. Without breaking the kiss, and without taking his hand away from her breast, he lifted her body from the couch and carried her over to the bed.

Anya wrapped her legs around his waist as he walked them over to his bed. She knew she shouldn't be doing this. She just met him yesterday. She watched as he took off his shirt. The way his muscles moved as he tossed it on the floor. Oh, this felt so right. He felt so right. Since the first second she saw him in the gym, he just felt right.

As he laid her down on the bed, he wondered if maybe he should stop. As he watched her take off her shirt, he didn't know if he could stop even if he wanted to. He wanted her. His wolf wanted her. He leaned in close and took her all in. Her natural honey almond scent mixed with the scent of her arousal was enough to tell him he had to have her. He covered her lips once more as he slowly moved his body over hers. He moved one hand behind he back to undo her bra. He removed her bra and discarded it to the floor. He moved his lips lower down her chin, down her neck. His tongue trailed a path from her collar bone to the valley between her breast.

As his lips covered her nipple, Anya arched her back and placed her hand on his head to bring him closer. She moaned her sounds of pleasure as his tongue worked over her nipple. Her other breast was being shown attention with one of his hands. Her body was heating up more and more under his ministrations. As if feeling her need he moved his hand down to undue the button of her jeans. She lifted her hips to help him slide them off. Lying there clad only in her purple lace underwear, Anya felt a shiver run through her.

"Um. I- I've never done this before." Anya told him.

"If you're not ready, and you don't want to do this, we don't have to. You know that, right? I didn't know you were a virgin." He wanted her. He wanted her bad. Just not bad enough to take her when and if she wasn't ready.

"No. No. I'm not a virgin. I just don't go around sleeping with guys I just met. But, I want to. I... I just thought that I'd let you know that I'm not as experienced as you might be used to."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes. Yes, I'm sure I want you. I'm sure this feels right. Yes, I'm sure."

Daniel leaned in and kissed her with so much passion. He would make sure that he was her last lover. He kissed her down her chin, down her neck, he followed the valley between her breast down to her stomach. Slowly he slid down her panties, the scent of her arousal multiplied ten fold. His control almost slipped completely as his wolf tried to come to the surface. Taking his time to pull his wolf back, Daniel positioned himself between her thighs. He dipped his head down and let his tongue seek her moistened folds.

"Oh my Goddess." Her whole body shook with pleasure. The feel of his tongue over and over on her most secret place was the most amazing feeling she had ever felt. Or so she thought. When he closed his mouth over her sensitive bud, she screamed out in pleasure. She tried to place one of her hands over her mouth to muffle the sound, but when he inserted one finger between her folds into her slick channel, her thought of keeping her voice down went out the window. One hand gripped the sheets, and the other she had on his head. She didn't know whether to pull his head in closer for more, or push it away to stop the the coiling sensation starting in the pit her stomach. The feeling was getting more and more electrifying as he continued to alternate between licking, sucking, and his fingers that kept hitting her sweet spot.

"Uh Daniel! Ah, ah, ah. Daniel!

Daniel could feel her inner walls grip on his fingers, and he knew it wouldn't be long. Her passionate screams grew louder as he lapped up all that she had to give. Her body spasmed in response as she came all over his face. He continued lapping her up, not daring to miss any of her juices as it all cascaded down.

Anya struggled to catch her breath. She could feel tingles all over her body. His eyes looked up to meet hers and her face went red, and she looked away from him and covered her face with her hand.
