-Keegan-
It took me a few days to track down the address that she called me from. The address was to a house that was about four hours from here. It was definitely a huge risk to take especially not knowing where the address would take me or if she'd even want anything to do with me. It also was kind of intimidating not knowing what kind of person I'd encounter there. If this person or thing scared Raven enough where she wouldn't come home, who knew what it could do to me.
I let the window down and felt the cool night air blow through my hair. I smelled rain. I had already been driving a couple of hours and anxiety and apprehension was beginning to get the best of me... What if I drove all the way out here and she just tells me to go fuck myself? What if the thing holding her captive killed me? The questions resounded in my head but one thing was for sure: I had already come too far to turn back now.
-Raven-
I laid in bed as Dorian traced lazy circles on my bare abdomen. Out of nowhere, I felt a disturbance. My heart jumped in my throat when I realized what it was: Keegan. He was near and how he found me, I had no idea but I had to get him out of here before he got himself killed...
-Keegan-
"Keegan, turn around... now," Raven's voice spoke softly in my head. I was scared shitless. How the hell did she do that? I was cracking up...surely it was just my imagination.
"No, it is really me. Listen, you have to turn around before you get yourself killed. There is danger here," she said urgently.
"I'm not leaving without you, Raven," I said to the windshield. I felt really weird speaking to nothing but I doubted if I could just think my response.
"Keegan, this is dangerous! Please go now while you still have a chance. I cannot protect you here," she said as a final warning.
"Over my dead body," I said dismissively.
"So be it," she said sadly.
It didn't take long for me to reach a mansion that looked like something right out of a horror film. The old rickety gate was closed but not locked. I got out of the rental car and pushed the gate open with a loud creak. Rain drops began to fall slowly, further perfecting the suspenseful and terrifying mood. I got in the car and drove up closer to the mansion. On the way, I passed a pond covered in a layer of fog and a old cemetery. This place gave me the creeps but I refused to leave without my fiancรฉe.
-Raven-
It was not long before Dorian's hand stopped caressing my stomach. He sat up abruptly and inhaled deeply.
"What is wrong, Sir?" I asked, feigning concern.
"There is an intruder," he said, standing up, "A human."
He threw on a pair of pajama bottoms and I slipped on a gown.
Soon, we heard the front door open and heard Keegan's reluctant footsteps as he entered the entryway. Suddenly, there was a flash of lightning that illuminated the room, followed by the rumble of thunder. Dorian walked outside of the bedroom and I followed close behind him.
"Were you expecting company, my Dear?" he asked as we walked down the long hallway.
I looked away from him avoiding his eyes. "You still wear his scent. Do not worry, we shall give him a very warm welcome," he said, making the hair stand up on the back of my neck.
"You there! Intruder! What brings you into my home... uninvited?" Dorian asked as he descended the staircase, me at his side.
"I came to get my fiancรฉe and bring her home," Keegan said boldly without missing a beat.
"Your fiancรฉe? Who is your fiancรฉe?" Dorian asked innocently.
"Raven. She is my fiancรฉe and I aim to bring her back with me," Keegan said, maintaining his sure, confident tone even though his heart was beating like a jackrabbit's.
"Now, hold on, Friend. This woman belongs to me and it is rather dangerous to come into a man's home uninvited to claim his woman," Dorian said, reaching the ground level, baring his fangs at Keegan. "Raven, could you kindly tell this man who you belong to?"
-Keegan-
"I am his, Keegan," she said softly, blinking back the crimson tears.
"What are you saying, Raven?" I asked, my heart breaking.
"I am saying that I belong to him and I never have been your's, Keegan," she said a little stronger this time, "I am all wrong for you and you are all wrong for me. This vampire is my Maker and I love him with an intensity that I could never feel for anyone one else, including you. Please leave before you get yourself killed."
My broken heart pounded loudly in my throat. How could she say these things? What was I gonna do without her? I would rather die than be without her. She was my everything and I thought, until this moment, that the feelings were mutual.
"You should listen to her, Boy. Leave before I kill you," the male vampire said with a smirk.
I shook my head furiously. "I'll fight you for her," said a voice that sounded a lot like my own, except more confident.
The male vampire threw his head back and laughed heartily. "You will do what? Surely, you cannot be serious!"
"I see nothing funny," I replied gruffly, "I said: 'I'll fight you for her'. Winner gets her, loser fucks off."
He abruptly stopped laughing and disappeared up the stairs. Within a blink's time he was back down the stairs holding what looked like a stake. "You are on, Boy. Except when I win, I will fuck her in front of you and then I will kill you," he said with a smile as he threw me the stake.
