21: Mourning
"Its done Gregor," said Miranda as she approached him.
"Good, let's get out of here. It's not safe out here. We need to find a safe place to discuss what we are going to do now," said Gregor.
"I had a back-up plan should we need some place to go. Augustus has a mansion that we can use as a staging ground to prepare ourselves. I've been planning this for years now Gregor, even though now the final objective doesn't seem all that possible any longer, as it does seem as though the prophecy will come to be," said Miranda.
"How did you get Augustus' loyalty?" asked Gregor.
"I saved some of his fledglings. He's more then happy enough to help us. He hates Markus with a passion now," said Miranda.
"Good we need to determine what we gained from the rift," said Gregor.
Miranda shivered as Gregor's new power seemed to crawl over her body like sharp needles.

"How's Aaron doing?" asked Carl as Laura came out of the infirmary.
"He's doing better. What are you doing up anyway? You should be lying down," said Laura.
"I can't, not when Joy won't even let me in," said Carl worriedly.
"She just needs some time to her self, that's all, Carl. Just give her some time," said Laura.
Carl sighed depressed and continued "She's totally devastated. I just don't know what to do. Her brother was the only family she had."
"She's still got you. Carl. She'll heal, you just have to give her time," said Laura trying to comfort him.
"How are Dave and Amelia doing?" asked Carl
"Not good. They still haven't woken up yet and it doesn't seem as though their injuries are healing," said Laura.
"Is Aaron awake?" asked Carl.
"Yeah, but you won't be allowed in long. Aaron is still quite tired and Cindy will probably try and chase you out if she doesn't try holding you to a bed," said Laura.
"I'll take my chances," said Carl. "Thanks, Laura,"
"No problems, Carl. If there is anything I can do to help, you let me know," Laura said.
"I will," Carl replied.
"What are you doing up, Carl? You should be in bed resting. You have lost quite a lot of blood," said Cindy as Carl entered the room.
"I'm fine, Cindy. I just wanted to talk to Aaron," said Carl.
"Five minutes, Carl. He needs to rest," sighed Cindy.
"How are you feeling Aaron?" asked Carl as he sat down next to his bed.
"Really drained and so exhausted, but all I think I need is just some sleep. What are you doing here anyway? Shouldn't you be with Joy?" asked Aaron sleepily.
