He wasn't bitter, though. He liked the new direction his life had taken. Bobby sparred with Minotaurs and Vampires, for crying out loud! Who all could say that? He'd been laid more times by Fae and Vampire women in the past year than he had ever hoped for with any normal woman before that. Even fucking Mermaids surfaced on the beach and wanted in on the community as they could now be as open as they wanted to be amongst humans. He'd had his fair share of Mermaid tail (no pun intended) as he was the first one to get a blowjob when they first surfaced last year. Bobby didn't even mind if he was being used as a curiosity by them and the Fae and a food source for the Vampiresses. He was getting mind-blowing orgasms on a weekly, if not daily, basis.
What really bothered him was the fact that they were in an eternal war with the Hunters and they couldn't even fight back. His mother and girlfriend, if not being forced to whore out for the Werewolves, had been captives inside that damn Prison Creature. Tillis and his goons were able to attack them at will, with the private blessing of the United States Department of Homeland Security, while Newhaven was forced to stay their hand. It wasn't fair. It wasn't right. The only thing that they had going for them was protection from the United Nations.
Frustrated, Bobby threw down his bow and dropped to his knees on a rocky overlook high above the lake. "You promised us a better life!" he shouted, lifting clenched fists up to the heavens, knowing well that God, his wife, and his son, with all of their angels, existed now and that they could hear him. "You promised us safety! You promised us a prosperous future! So where is it, huh?"
He knelt there on the ground, chest heaving from his running, sweat pouring off of his head, as he looked up into the sky in defiance. Bobby spread his arms wide in a 'so you gonna answer me or what' gesture. After a full five minutes of silence, he grunted, picked up his bow, and threw it up into the air. "OR DO YOU ONLY FUCKING ANSWER WHEN IT SUITS YOU!? HUH? IF I CAN'T HAVE JUSTICE, THEN I WANT VENGENCE," he howled in outrage. Then he watched as his bow disappeared over the ledge and down into the trees below. "Fucking figures..." he grunted as he then started climbing down to retrieve it.
He found his bow laying on the forest floor after picking his way through some underbrush. The string snapped, and the shaft bent. "Fucking eh..." he bemoaned as he sat down on the ground. He looked back up to the sky, "I'm sure you all are having a helluva laugh over this, huh?" he asked rhetorically.
That's when a bolt of lightning came down out of a clear blue sky to strike him, knocking his ass to the ground.

CHAPTER 2:
Then...
Atnanthna...
Much to Helena's surprise, they were surprisingly well taken care of the entire journey. Not one of them perished along the way as they were kept fed, watered, and rested. The reason being, she overheard, was that their punishment was far worse than the other two tribes and the Greeks wanted to make sure they all survived to endure it.
Now, after weeks of travel they were finally being offloaded. With one in front of the other, the women had their hoods removed and they were tied up in their coffle before being led from the ship. The long, hard journey had broken some of her sisters but Helena remained steadfast and resolute. Her eyes looked around for any possible sign or opportunity for escape. None presented itself. Off to the side, she saw that all of their weapons were being dumped into a stone crypt that was then sealed with a heavy stone slab overtop. The soldiers then laughed at Helena's murderous look as she was led on.
She saw that they were on an island far out in the middle of the ocean. It was colder here than it was back in Greece as her bare nipples were on end and goose bumps rose up all over her nude body. But she endured in silence, not wanting to give the Greeks the satisfaction of knowing she was just slightly uncomfortable. She figured that just by distance alone and the lack of numerous turns, that they had to be far to the west and further north than the paradise that was the Mediterranean Sea. Just like it was back in Greece, soldiers dressed in warm furs backed by Witches with glowing hands lined the way. The tribe was led off of the boat and down into a carved-out cave that led underneath of the ocean itself. When they got to the bottom even Helena gasped at what awaited them.
Bound to the wall with white, glowing spells and arcane runes all around was a massive green creature unlike any of them had ever seen or heard of before in their lives. It had huge limbs that rivaled the great pillars holding up the Temple of Zeus at the foot of Mount Olympus. Its giant eyes, that were larger than the lights atop the Great Library, were closed as if the creature were either asleep or in a trance. Thick green tendrils, like vines, descended down from the thing's face.
Ahead of her, Helena watched in horror as the first of her sisters were taken off of the coffle and dragged over to some of the dangling tendrils. Her sister was shaking her head vigorously as the soldiers there tried to force a tendril into her mouth. They eventually succeeded and the Witch that was nearby cast a spell. A blob of... something... was forced into her mouth and Helena's sister ceased struggling. Then six more tendrils wrapped themselves around her body, attaching to her arms, legs, and breasts. Then two more shot up in between her legs as the tendrils hoisted her high up into the air.
Any resistance that any of them might've had at that point now fled as they all saw what had become of their tribal sister. Some screeched in anguish, others in terror, others in outrage. The Witches cast a spell that then blinded all of them and they had no choice but to kneel down onto the ground to try and shield their eyes with their own hair. Even then, they lost any sense of seeing.
When Helena's sight finally returned, she was up next to the creature. Many of her sisters were already bound and pacified in the tendrils. She cried out and tried to fight as well, but she was held fast by the Grecian Warriors. The tip of a tendril brushed her lips and she clamped her mouth shut while wildly shaking her head back and forth in denial as to what was happening. In one final act of desperation, she looked to the heavens and shouted out "ARES! ARTEMIS! GRANT US VENGENCE!" before the tendril was shoved into her mouth.
As a blob of sweet nectar was forced into her mouth and down her throat, she felt her mind go blank. But in that final moment as tendrils wrapped around her arms and legs, covered her breasts, and wormed their way up inside of her bottom and womanly folds, she heard one thing run through her head as her cry was answered:
It will come in time...
The next day, after the Greeks and the Witches sealed what was going to be the Amazon's tomb for all eternity, a meteor fell from the heavens to strike the ocean nearby, destroying parts of the island and sending shards of it flying for miles and miles around. The prison of Atlantis, the place reserved for only the most hated of enemies of the Greek Empire, disappeared forever into the ocean.
*
Now... Newhaven...
Bobby's ears were ringing, and he saw stars in his eyes.
Take what is inside and go to the coast...
a pair of voices said into his mind. He frowned. That wasn't the Lurker, or any of the Vampires, the Merfolk, or even the Fae. He knew what they all sounded like inside of his head. This was... different. Bobby shook the cobwebs from his head and looked at what was before him. The lightening had actually broken open the stone underneath of the forest floor. "Holy shit..." he breathed as he peered down into the hole.
The hole was big enough around that he could easily see down inside. A beautiful bow was on top of the cache of other bows, arrows, leather straps, leather armor, ropes, spears, swords, and quivers. His hand wrapped around the beautiful, ornate, bluish-silver recurve bow that was on top and he lifted it out. It was surprisingly light despite its size and metallic texture. He could not see a string, at first, until he got just the barest glimpse of one. It was thin, but it seemed to be like a beam of light and it seemed to feel like a bow sting. Curious, Bobby hooked it with his fingers to draw it.
An arrow instantly appeared, nocked and ready to fly the moment he drew the light string back. "SHIT!" he cried out as it took him off guard. He dropped the bow in his surprise, the arrow disappearing the moment the bow left his hand. Feeling sheepish, he picked the bow back up again and drew his fingers along the light. The arrow reappeared. "Holy... fucking... shit..." he breathed as he studied the wondrous weapon.
[Musing] We had forgot about that container...
The Ancient One rumbled into his mind.
[Educating]
It appeared in this region shortly after a meteor, not our own, landed in the middle of the secondary body of water not too far from here...
