A Very Thin Line Ch 03

This shit is unbelievable. How the fuck can somebody like Jelavich help me do my fucking job? The captain can't be serious. "Are you serious captain? Please tell me you are kidding right?" said Kirill.

"No, I am not kidding. Mr. Jelavich was kind enough to help us with the case we are working on in order to catch the bad guys, we need all the help we can get."

"I know we need some help; but we don't need his help, and definitely not on my case with me. If he choose to help (Supernatural Agency Bureau or) S.A.B out you can partner him up with someone else, I don't want to be his partner." Kirill fired back.

"Well, that's too fucking bad Carter. He came on his accord and offered his assistance in finding the assholes that are ruining our city, and he asked to work with you. So please be a sweetheart, shut the fuck up, and work with this man for Christ sakes. Now, I know you hate men but please do not take put all your hatred on a man that can help us solve this case."

"Yeah whatever, and for the record I don't hate men, they just get on my nerves, sometimes."

"Whatever Carter." said the Captain.

The look on the witch's face clearly told a thousand words. The look she gave me was as plain as day and stated that she hated my guts and did not want to be bothered with me. Did she always have that frown? But no matter I didn't come here for her. I came to get my niece back safe and sound; she and this damn agency is the only way that I know how to accomplish that goal.

It will be hard working for a man; you couldn't stand to be around. A person doesn't know how hard it is to be working with someone that is arrogant, self assured, and very egoistical to the extreme. I love my job and I will do this to the best of my ability.

"The case files are on the desk, in front of you." I said going over to the window.

I looked down at the busy streets below me. People were making errands here and there, bumping into each other as they go by, people not watching were they are going, and some just seem to be lost as the world passed them by.

"This is going to be a tough case to crack doll face. Just looking at this guy, he is too powerful to take down financially and personally at the same time."

I turned back toward Jelavich and looking out the window beyond. He seemed to be deep in thought as he was going through the case files. Now that I got a good look at him in the light(,) I can see that he is truly a handsome man, as well as why all the women will fawn over him like he was a god.

In the darkened club I really couldn't get a good look at him but now I can see all the sexiness that made up this man. His skin was so smooth and pale but it radiated like the sun. The light shone on his inky black hair made a glare almost blinding to the eye. Just by looking at his hair made me want to run my fingers through just to see how it feels.

Wait hold up, what the fuck did I just say. I should not be thinking of touching this man when he probably touched and did dirty things.

In the darken club his eyes held me with no interest, but now, my god they were beautiful. Those eyes were like a winters kiss on a cold December day.Why didn't I notice how blue his eyes were beforehand? My thoughts were broken when Jelavich cleared his throat to speak.

"If you want, I have a keen sense of smell, if you guys have anything that has a scent, I can track something down." He said standing from his leaning position.

"Yeah, actually we do have something, let me get it." I went over to the files cabinets to retrieve a half empty glass vial of Red Diamonds. When I handed Jelavich the vial, our hands accidently brushed sending a little electric shock this caused me to jump back a little.

I knew he felt it too because he just stood there staring at me. My mind was about drift to places that doesn't to want to go and my will power decided against it.

"Is that vial good enough to help with the tracking?"

"OH yeah, this definitely good enough and I'll let you know what I found out, when I get enough information." I was stunned as he about to turn around and leave.

"Wait you just can't leave like this, where are you going?"

"To handle my own business with this case, when I come back I will let you know what I found out. Catch you later."

I was about to protest more, but I stood still when I saw flames encasing Jelavich. His whole body went up in flames. I was about to rush over to him, but in an instant the flames were gone, and Jelavich had disappeared. There was nothing in his place but a scorch mark of his exit.

"Wow, that was one hell of an exit." I said to myself gasping.

"It sure in the hell is. I bet working with him will be a blast." She said to herself.

I looked up to see a new female recruit flabbergasted just as I was in the doorway of my office.

"Hey, I am April Benson, the new recruit."

"Hey, I am Luanne Carter, I have been working with S.A.B. for the past eight years. How do like it here so far?"

"It's great. I have got to see the gym and the training center and check out the great collection of guns. So are you the Luanne Carter that everyone has been talking about?"

"People talk about me?"

"They sure do honey. I haven't been here for a good hour people are already giving me all your information."

"Is that so? I wonder what they say about me."

"Well, nothing too bad. Are you and I the only females that are working with S.A.B.?"

"No, there's four more females working here but they haven't arrived yet. So I am guessing the ones that were talking shit about me were all men correct?"

"Yep"

"Figures! So what are you anyway?"

"I am half siren and half were-tiger."

"Oh what a cool combination let me guess, your mother was the siren?"

"YYEEEEPPP"

I was about to ask another question until heard rumbles coming from our stomachs. "Well it sounds like our bellies are ready for us to get some food. Hey you want to join me for lunch?"

"Sure that would be great."

I took the hand of my new friend as we made our way to the cafeteria for lunch.

The scent on the vial indicated that, whoever is dealing these Red Diamonds were nothing but little young vampires working for some higher up king pin. Tracking down the young punks was easy, but trying to get the big man in charge well, that's the hard part.

As I landed on the mountain, I heard my sister screaming at the top of her lungs yelling at the servants'. Shifting into my human form I walked inside the cave watching as my sister as she threw things around and yelling.

"Do you idiots have any idea what I am going through? My daughter is out there somewhere fucking missing and you guys are making it worse by not doing your fucking jobs. This is bullshit." said Amara

"Amara don't take out your frustration and anger on the staff. We will find Amelia." I said walking over to my big sister Kirill. She turned around to look at me with a myriad of emotions running through her face.

"What if we don't Kirill? What then? I am just so fucking upset about this, I just want my baby back." said Amara. Amara begins crying and closes the gap between us, wrapping her arms around me.

"I know Amara, I am doing everything I can to get her back, I miss her too. But you can't just take out your anger on the ones that care about you."

"I know my big little brother. I just hope you found her real soon, because this really killing me."

I wrapped my arms around her even tighter as she began crying into my chest. I prayed to the gods and goddess of the dragons would hear me and give me the strength and guidance in order to find my niece, and I hope that little witch is trustworthy enough.

Once I left my sister to have time to herself, I went out to finish up the tracking I had done earlier. My dragon senses indicated that their hideout wasn't too far out of the Las Vegas area. In fact, it didn't take me long to get to where I was going.

The warehouse they were operating out of sat across the street from an old abandoned building that made it easy for me to hide from their sight. Hell it was easy for a dragon to hide from any creature supernatural or human, because we can choose to make ourselves invisible if we want to.

"So where were we going distribute the Diamonds tonight? At Goth club?" a tall red haired vamp said. Another vampire came in right behind answering his questions.

"I don't know yet man, but I hope it's somewhere with some dumb bitches for an easy lay. I have gone a long time without any pussy."

Both these men made idle chit chat while they were unloading and uploading their black van. Their whole conversation went on for a whole thirty minutes about which type of girls they would like to fuck and would fuck. Then abruptly it came to an end when the tall red haired vampire answered his cell phone.

"Yeah ok that's, mmm, hmmm, are you sure? Well, o.k. whatever you say boss." Tucking the phone back into his pants, the red head turned to the blonde.

"The boss made a change of plans. We're going to lay low tonight. Apparently there has been a news report about the missing kids, and people are getting very suspicious.

"So what are we going to do about them now?"

"Keep them hidden were they are; then go home, and keep a low profile."

The two vampires finish up loading the trucks in silence. When they are done they go their separate ways.

On just the spur of the moment I just started following the red head. Keeping myself invisible I was able to keep up with the vampire without being notice. He walked straight for twenty minutes until he made a left hand turn down a busy street. Although the street was busy it wasn't busy enough for someone to bump into me. Thank god for that.

We continued to walk for some time until we turn into a dark deserted alley. Going inside a little ways he stopped at a wooden door. I figured this was now or never for the questioning. Before he could even knock I grabbed him around his neck, and slammed him up against the wall. To say that he was surprised was an understatement.

"WHAT THE FUCK!?!" said the pinned red headed vampire

"Tell me everything that you are doing with the Red Diamonds, and missing teenagers?"

"What the fucking hell I can't see shit. Who and what the fuck are you dude? Get the fuck off me." Turning the vampire around to face me, I made myself come into sight before his eyes. He really got scared then; if it were possible I think he would have pissed himself.

"ho....how in the hell did you do that? What are you man? I didn't sense you at all!" The man's panic increased when I elongated my fangs and my eyes turned into a dark fiery abyss. I tighten my hold on the man and ask him again.

"One more time boy tell me what you doing with the Red Diamonds or I will charcoal you right here, right now." When those words left my mouth fire escaped my lips burning the vampires face a little. I laughed when he let a high pitched girly scream that would make any toddler jealous.

"Alright alright man I'll tell you everything that I know but please for the love of god please do not do that fire thing again." I chuckled a little at his fear. Despite the myth being wrong vampires were able to walk in daylight anybody else, but they had a serious fear of fire.

"I am just a delivery guy, man. I just get the calls from the boss and he tells us where to go, who to take it too, and when they should take it, other than that, I really don't know, honest to god."

There was something more to the story that he was not telling me about. I needed to get information out of him. I tighten my hold around his throat again and lifted him off his feet.

"What do you mean you don't know? You don't know who the person you are working for, or the kids you take? Be honest, give me everything you know."

"We go to the clubs, give the Diamonds to some teens, we take them, hide them, and wait for the boss to show. Me and the other delivery guys never get a good look at him or can get a scent off him. He just comes in as dark hooded figure with no scent and takes the girls after a week Honest to God man that's all I know, I don't know anything else." My right hand was still around his throat, I reached into my pocket with my other hand taking out a picture of my niece in her human form.

"During that time have you ever taken this girl from any clubs?" I shove the picture in his face hoping he can get an idea of who she was.

"I am so sorry man I really can't remember. We have taken so many girls human and non human that we don't remember what they look like. All I know is that, all the delivery guys were to go to different parts of the city, and take whoever we can get."

"I should burn you to ash right where you stand vampire, and let the city come and clean you up then dump you into the dumpster where you belong.." another ball of fire escaped my mouth. "You better take another look and try to remember her vampire."

He stood there looking at the picture for a while trying to reminisce. "Honestly dude I cannot place that girl, but if it helps I might be able to help you find her or point you in the right direction." I stood there going over the possibilities in my head for a moment. Coming to a conclusion, I finally relented and accepted this man's help.

"Ok, you can do that, but if we don't find her you'll be terribly sorry."

The new girl had been fun and entertaining to talk to and very good looking to look at. She was taller than me at 5'10, she had bright red hair that came down to her butt, she had an angelic face, with big round black eyes, full pouty lips, and a nice set of generous breasts a small cute tattoo of butterflies on each of them.

But what really got me about her appearance was the fact that she had a nice smile. She made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside whenever I made a corny ass joke and she just giggled.

"So you know all about me, but I don't know anything about you, wanna give me some tidbits?" the girl asked with a sexy little smirk on her face.

"Alright I will give you some tidbits about me. Well let's see where should I begin? Well, I am twenty-eight years old, my favorite color is red, I came from a family of witches, and of course I awakened into my powers and abilities when I was twenty-one."

"Wait 'awakened' what does that mean?"

An awakening means that when a witch, wizard, warlock, and hoodoo mage, they will come into their powers at a certain age. Like for instance; before I turned twenty-one, the only thing magical about me was the fact I could help my mother and grandmother make potions and write out spells. But once I turn twenty-one, my abilities kicked in."

"So half of you was suppressed until you turned twenty-one? "

" The first thing I discovered was with telepathy, all the thoughts that I was hearing was making my head hurt. It was so painful just to do mundane things like; reading, going to the store, enjoying ice cream without listening in on others. But eventually my mother and grandmother got a hold of me and taught me how control it, how to tune people out when need be. So now I only listen in when I want to, or need to."

"So wait a minute, can you even listen in on supernatural's?"

"Yes, I can listen in on everyone, except for people in the agency because they put their mental block on. I can listen to what you are really thinking right now, but I choose not to."

"Hmm that's awesome. Well thanks for letting me know you have that gift so I know I can block you from all the dirty sex things that go on in my head." I couldn't help but to laugh at her humor. Not only was this girl hot as hell but she had a great sense of humor to boot. I really hoped that she and would work together well.

Following the vampire into the warehouse, I could smell the distinct smell of something or someone soiling themselves. Everything was dark, damp, and dusty. I can hear the cries of young girls coming from down the hall as we walked in.

"You never answered my question man what are you? I mean being a vampire(,) I should've detected you."

"What I am is none of your business, what you need to be concerned about is the fact that my niece is out there somewhere, and you may be the cause of it."

"Aright dude you don't have to get all fussy about it, I'll quite asking. Oh, here we are." He said stopping in front of two wooden doors. He opens them, and the sudden snitch of decay assaulted my nostrils. The vampire must have smelt it too judging by his reactions. The smell could only mean that someone has died there.

We walked in further inside the basement and came to the cell that was holding the teenagers.

Editing needed: Looking upon them made me want to choke the living hell out of this vampire for doing this to innocent children and the sight made me sick to my stomach. Just imagining all these kids were abducted from my club, and I could give two shits about them, made me really want to vomit. All of these are here because of me.

The regret and heartache was overwhelming me to no end. Somehow I felt responsible for these girls, and the simple fact that my niece is out there somewhere, probably in the same condition as these girls maybe worse.

They were at least thirty of them in one small cell. There were thirty-one but the rotting smell indicated that one had passed away. They were filthy with dirt, vomit, and piss. They looked starved by the way their eyes had sunken into their skulls. None of these girls were my niece, but seeing them like this in this condition set a new found hatred in the pits of my stomach. Turning to the vampire looking him dead in his eye, I asked "How can you keep these girls here in this condition like this? They are filthy and starved, you evil little shit open the damn cell."

"I'm sorry man I can't do that I mean----"grabbing him around his neck slamming him into the bars of the cell, I demanded that he unlock the cell door. His hands shook as he reached into his pocket fishing out keys to unlock the cell door.

Once the door was open; the girls just sat there looking at us with wide eyes, they didn't move or do anything. "You sick fuck you have paralyzed these girls here with fear how could you do this, why?"

Letting out a few sniffles, the vampire began crying "I don't know man, I really don't know. I know this is awful of what I am doing but I.... I.....ne..hheee..ed" he really started to break down then. Bloody tears poured out of his eyes like a never ending bloody river. There was something more than meets the eye with this man. He was obliviously in turmoil of hurt, pain, confusion, and desperation. Our feelings were identical in this regard.

"I need to find my daughter. The person that I am working for sold my daughter into supernatural shadow world. I went to the Las Vegas supernatural police but they wouldn't hear my case. So I took it upon myself to find her. The people that I am working with don't know about me or my agenda. I have been working with these people undercover now for a year now. I have seen horrible things from both supernatural and natural people. I all want to do is find my daughter and bring her back to me safe and sound, I didn't know taking innocents, killing people, and dealing out toxic drugs to young kids is what I have to do in order to retrieve her. So I know how you feel about your niece, we are in the same boat here."

"AND YOUR ABOUT TO SINK. GET 'EM BOYS." We both looked up at the same time seeing the blonde vampire from earlier loading the trucks, and fifteen to twenty demons running up behind him. Getting ready for a battle, I took a stand in my fighter's pose at the approaching demons coming towards me. I was about to throw a punch but something hard, heavy, and very blunt came down on the back of my head and I crumbled to the ground with the sound of screaming girls fading into the background, as I faded into unconsciousness.
