Margie was thirty two and married to Norman. They had a teenaged daughter, Ellen, and in the last five years their marriage had settled into a very repetitive routine. She didn't consider herself unhappy, but she wondered sometimes about never having anything exciting happen anymore. Norman had begun to travel a lot on business and she found herself feeling very bored on the nights he was away. But tonight they were invited to a party through a client of Norman's and she was excited at the idea of going out.
They drove to a large house in a very nice neighborhood where they were greeted by a maid and shown into a very crowded drawing room. Norman found his client and they were introduced to a few people before they were left on their own. She had two glasses of wine as they mingled and talked to the few couples that they had met before and then Margie found herself alone while Norman talked business with two men.
She began looking over the room and noticed a very attractive man walking through the crowd. He was tall and lean with jet black hair and there was something about his eyes, that seemed very compelling. He walked up to a small group of people and they all turned towards him. She tried to look away but her eyes seemed drawn to him. His back was towards her as she stared at him and then he suddenly turned and looked right at her. She felt her face growing red as he smiled at her and then she quickly turned away in embarrassment.
She walked over to the bar as she tried to compose herself and got another glass of wine. She didn't see him when she scanned the room again and then she saw Norman still talking business. She began walking towards him and she was half way there when a hand gently took her arm. She turned and gazed into the deepest blue eyes she had ever seen. It was him.
"Hi," his deep voice said. "I don't believe we've met. I'm sure I'd remember if we did. My name is Luke Videl."
"I'm Margie Capwell," she stammered.
"Pleased to meet you," he said as he extended his hand. She reached out for it and trembled as she felt his warm skin.
"I didn't mean to stare at you before," she blurted and then she wanted to kick herself.
"I'm flattered that I could attract your attention," he replied with a smile. Margie considered herself anything but sexy but his words made her heart begin to pound. He asked about her husband and she pointed Norman out to him as she explained what he did and how they happened to be there. "You're bored with him, aren't you," he said.
"No," she stammered not believing her ears at the question.
"I think you are," he said softly. "I think you're looking for some excitement."
"We all get a little bored sometimes," she said defensively.
"Not everyone," he replied.
"What kind of excitement do you think I'm looking for?"
"Sexual excitement," he said. "I think you want more sex in your life. A lot more."
"What!" she gasped and he chuckled. "I... You..."
"I can see things in people," he laughed as she stuttered. "I know things." She was at a loss for words as he smiled at her embarrassment and then an attractive red head walked up to them. She slid her arm around his waist and then she kissed him on the cheek.
"Is he being outrageous?" the woman asked Margie.
"I was just telling Margie that she's sexually repressed," he said when Margie didn't answer.
"Are you?" the woman asked, and Margie felt her face turning even more crimson.
"This is..." Luke said.
"Lili," the woman said as she held out her hand. Margie took her hand and the woman held it. "Be careful he doesn't put you under a spell," Lili said.
"Spell?" Margie asked.
"Didn't he tell you?" Lili said with a big grin on her face. "He has magical powers and he can cast spells on people." She looked at Luke and he smiled at her.
"It's true," he said. "But I only cast spells on my enemies or people who want to be enchanted. Do you want to be enchanted?"
"She's not ready yet," Lili said as Margie stood there dumb struck.
"Maybe next time," Luke said and then they both walked off.
Margie watched them disappear into the crowd and she felt like such a fool for the way she had acted. They were so alive and vibrant and all she had been able to do was stutter and stammer. She slowly made her way over to Norman and listened to the boring business conversation he was having.
She turned several times when she heard people laughing and each time she saw Luke and Lili in the middle of the group making the noise. Norman also turned the last time. "That tall guy is Luke Videl. He's very rich and very influential," he said. "I wish I could get to meet him. And that redhead is his girl friend. Why don't you see if you can talk to her and then maybe I could get introduced to him."
"I can't just walk up to her," she protested. He shrugged and turned away.
She looked around the room when they were leaving and spotted Luke and Lili again laughing with a small group around them. Just as he had earlier, he seemed to sense her stare and he turned. His blue eyes caught hers and he smiled just before she looked away. She felt her face getting red as Norman took her arm and led her to the door.
She thought about Luke a lot over the next week, especially when she was in bed. She would picture his eyes boring into hers and wonder what it would be like to be with him. It scared her when she would feel herself getting aroused but she couldn't seem to stop doing it. One night when Norman was away she had a dream that Luke was making love to her and she woke up in a cold sweat. Her nightgown was pulled all the way up and she could feel a damp spot on the crotch of her panties. She had never masturbated in her life but her hand moved between her legs as if someone else was controlling it. It surprised her when she had an orgasm and then she lay awake the rest of the night feeling guilty and confused.
She was in her home office trying to get some work done on a Thursday afternoon when the phone rang.
"Margie?"
"Yes?
