The Prince and the Journalist 10 - The Ancient City
(Rose's point of view)
When I get to the hall where they are waiting for me to eat I try to relax my body, I feel strange, I don't know if it is because of the prevailing heat that has caused my fainting while walking through the garden located between the main building and the harem or because of the accumulated fatigue after the days visiting the mines, but I have not slept well for several days, with erotic dreams in which I am the protagonist, replacing all the slave girls I have seen these days.
I am surprised not to find Caleb next to his mother waiting for me, and I am more surprised to find Lady Nabila in his place, I had the impression that she had not liked me too much, yes I am glad to find a smiling Yaiza sitting with them, who as soon as she sees me arrive gets up and after giving me a hug she gives me her hand to guide me to the table.
"I hope you are well Miss Wagner?" asks Yaiza. "My sister told me about your fainting spell."
"I am fine Yaiza;" I reply. "I am not used to this dry heat, and I told you the other day you can call me Rose;" I add.
I watch as Yaiza looks at Lady Stephanie, and as the Regent shakes her head in the affirmative.
"Ok Rose, if you are ok I wanted to ask you this afternoon to help me with the IPad and IPhone, I think I have touched something and they don't work well;" she comments to me.
"When we finish eating I will help you with your problem;" I answer Yaiza knowing by her smile that she wants more than just setting up her toys again.
I go to sit down, but don't as I see Yaiza look at Lady Stephanie as if she is waiting for something.
"Okay, you can eat with us;" Lady Stephanie says to Yaiza, who with a wide smile sits down next to me.
The meal passes in silence, as if Yaiza's presence was impeding the conversation, luckily it is the young lady herself who breaks the silence.
"I thought you were a journalist, but Caleb showed me a picture where you look like one of the doctors at the hospital;" Yaiza tells me, causing Lady Nabila and Lady Stephanie to look at me in surprise.
"While I was at the mine I helped Professor Katherine with some of the biological samples they have found;" I reply to Yaiza without stopping eating, wondering when Caleb has taken that picture of me.
"I can't imagine you dressed in a white coat, glasses and your hair up;" Lady Nabila comments.
"I have the picture on the IPhone;" jumps Yaiza pulling the phone out of her pants bag. "It reminds me of you when I was visiting you at the hospital and you were tending to the children."
Now if I stop eating being me the one who is surprised, and I look at Lady Nabila, who diverts her gaze to the cell phone that Yaiza shows her.
"Nabila is licensed in Medicine, Pharmacy and Nursing;" Lady Stephanie tells me. "Although she has been attending mainly tribal children for some time now."
"I have given Caleb the name of a couple of biologists I know, some of the samples I have seen at the mine may prove to be very interesting and have important medical applications;" I comment.
The rest of the meal passes between trivial conversations, as soon as we finish eating Yaiza grabs my hand to take me to her quarters.
(Lady Nabila's point of view)
"Do you look surprised?" Stephanie asks me. "You didn't expect that from Rose?"
No, I answer, the truth is that I was surprised, at first glance Rose seemed superficial to me, giving the impression that everything is a game to her, but now hearing her talk during lunch about the biological samples and their different applications, I can't help but think that her pose and attitude are just a facade that helps her in her work.
"The truth is that he has surprised me, in a nice way;" I finally reply to Stephanie. "Are you planning to go ahead with what you have planned?" I ask her.
"With everything I have planned, you need to see the Emirate from all points of view?" she replies to me.
"I don't think I'm the right woman for Caleb;" I point to Stephanie.
"That's for sure, and your brother knows it, he just wants to fuck her, period;" she tells me.
"Then if you're not getting her ready for Caleb, I don't understand why you're doing this;" I retort.
"You'll know when the time comes, until then leave it all up to me;" she points to me getting up from the table, leaving me alone with my thoughts.
(Rose's point of view)
The time helping Yaiza turns into more than four hours, in which I can't do anything to help her, the little girl is a computer genius and has managed to overcome all the blocks ordered by Lady Stephanie, having full access to the entire network.
She keeps asking me questions of all kinds, to which I answer as best I can, only when she starts asking some questions that make even me blush, I stop answering her and have to threaten to warn Lady Stephanie if she keeps entering any of those pages she refers to.
"I'm sorry Miss Wagner;" she tells me ducking her eyes. "I won't do it again, but please don't say anything about this to Lady Stephanie or my sister, I don't want them taken away from me;" she comments making reference to the IPad and IPhone.
"Ok;" I say running my hand through Yaiza's dark mane, causing her to get angry and protest.
When I return to my quarters I lie down on the bed and stretch, I am exhausted and my whole body aches, now I am sure it is due to the days spent in the mines, and so much time on my feet studying the samples.
For a few moments I think about calling for a massage, but then I remember what happened last time and decide to pass, after a few minutes looking at the ceiling, I decide not to go out for dinner, Lady Stephanie wants to leave at nine in the morning to visit the Old City and I prefer to rest,
