THE ISLAND
Part 5: The Dinner
By Gortmundy.
In the early evening Susan was on her balcony when she saw a small seaplane flying across the island, it circled the villa before curving downward in a graceful arc to land in the bay. Curiously she watched as it came alongside the jetty and disgorged a small handful of figures. The distance made them a little blurry, but it looked like two men and a woman. The trio strolled along the jetty as staff retrieved their luggage and Susan could make out the unmistakable tall, leggy figure of Portia striding out to meet the small group. She embraced one of the men in what looked like a long, passionate kiss before turning to greet the other two. Together they made their way back towards the villa.
"Will you please sit back down girl," an exasperated voice called out.
Susan slid back into the bedroom and obediently sat back at the dressing table where Kady continued to work on her hair. The black woman gave a mock scowl before grinning,
"If you make me spoil this hairdo after all this work, I'll get Mrs Beatrice to tan your arse girl." She smiled a brilliant smile and whispered in her ear, "Just like your little friend Natassia, no?"
Susan couldn't help but giggle at the thought. Kady spoke with a strong Jamaican accent and Susan regarded her in the mirror. Her skin was a deep flawless brown and her eyes glittered like polished amber. She had a wide generous mouth and long, deceptively strong fingers that she was currently using to work on her hair. Her own hair was kept in long braids that were tied in an exotic pattern.
After making a few last-minute adjustments Kady sat back and announced, "Done!"
Susan couldn't help but stare at the stranger in the full-length mirror. Her long blonde hair had been carefully braided and the braids themselves twisted into a golden crown, while subtly applied cosmetics highlighted the sparkle of her bright blue eyes. The gown was French, a champagne-coloured floor length creation of silk and glittering sequins that twinkled and sparkled in the light. It was daringly low cut with a split that reached above mid-thigh and not so long ago she would never have dared worn such a thing. Kady smiled at the reaction before reaching to her side. The old jewellery case snapped open to reveal a delicate necklace and matching earrings. Kady slipped them onto the blonde woman,
"These belong to Helen, I think they were her mother's, but she says you could perhaps wear them for tonight, no?"
Susan twirled before turning back to the black woman, "What do you think?"
She was answered by a low solicitous whistle from the door and turned to see Natassia standing there gazing in admiration, "Wow, you look gorgeous."
Natassia herself wore a black floor length dress that complemented her darker complexion. The cut accentuated her curves and revealed an enticing cleavage. The two girls moved towards each other, but Kady was quicker, "Woah there! I just spent two hours on this, and I don't want you two spoiling it before you can show off by rolling about the floor or whatever."
She grinned, "Besides, I'd be embarrassed and might have to join in to show you two innocents a thing or two".
Kady glanced at the clock, "Also, dinner will be served soon, and you don't have the time."
As she slipped from the room Kady gave them both a sultry look, "You two girls behave now, and don't do anything I wouldn't."
Hearing the delicate chimes for dinner being struck Natassia took Susan by the hand, she looked up into the blondes' eyes and whispered, "When this is done, I'm going to do some very naughty things to you."
Susan giggled, "Promises, promises, besides by my count I think you still owe me."
"Oh, we'll see who owes who by the time I'm done with you."
The dinner was a small but splendid affair. It was held in one of the more intimate dining rooms and the table shone with crystal and silverware. The men looked very fine in their dinner jackets while the ladies were adorned in gowns and sparkling jewellery. For a moment Susan couldn't help but think of Downton Abbey and she almost giggled at the thought.
Portia met the two with a beaming smile, "Oh my! You both look wonderful!"
Her eyes sparkled and she gave a grin that was filled with promised mischief as she spoke in a stage whisper, "You must forgive all the silly costumery I just like to dress up sometimes. Besides, it lets me show off my husband in the best light. He's that handsome devil over there. Here let me introduce you to everyone."
Susan had already met Gunter, and she was finally introduced to Doctor Stefan who had come with his wife Marta, an attractive young brunette. She was similarly a doctor, though Susan later learned in conversation that she was a specialist in paediatrics rather than general medicine like her husband.
Portia led her by the hand towards two men and a woman engaged in casual conversation, they turned at their approach and Portia gestured, "Susan, I'd like you meet my husband Cassius."
The man gave a small bow and kissed the back of her hand. He was tall and broad-shouldered, with a tanned complexion and closely trimmed beard. His eyes were a deep, dark colour and she felt her cheeks colouring as he gave her a sly, captivating smile. He was in his mid-forties perhaps but the few flecks of grey that touched his temples only seemed to accentuate his features and it was obvious he kept himself in shape.
Susan had always enjoyed a good romance novel, though in her case it was more often for the comedic value than anything else, and she never thought that men with 'smouldering good looks' actually existed in real life. Now she saw that perhaps that assumption had been wrong. Cassius politely introduced her to his business associate Martin, who was a stocky-looking man with short fair hair and a close-cropped beard. He had a hawkish expression, and his thin-lipped smile gave him a somewhat cruel look. His companion was a stunning redhead who was introduced as his personal assistant. Her name was Margaret and she smiled politely, but kept her eyes tilted downward for the most part and appeared quite timid.
The dinner was far a far more pleasant affair than Susan had predicted. Initially, she had been a bit nervous by all the glitter and crystal, and there was a bewildering array of silver cutlery. But as usual, the food was out of this world while the conversation was friendly and casual. No one seemed to be looking to score marks or even care at her unfamiliarity with the vagaries of dining etiquette, indeed she soon found an ally in Marta who seemed equally baffled by the assortment of tiny dessert spoons and they both ended up laughing at each other as they caught themselves watching Portia giving them tiny clues as she subtly tapped the end of the correct utensil with her little finger, even as she was in mid-conversation and seemed to be paying no attention at all.
Cassius listened attentively as Susan haltingly told of the rogue wave that had cast her into the sea. He smiled warmly and expressed admiration at the will and courage it had taken for her to stay alive. Others around the table nodded in agreement and she felt Natassia squeezing her hand under the table. Then she almost dropped a spoon as her hand moved on and finding the split in her dress slid lightly along her thigh. Natassia gave her a completely innocent look and continued her conversation with Doctor Stefan while her fingers teased the young blonde.
The hand slid up along her thigh and Susan using her napkin to hide a gasp clasped her thighs tightly together, only to find she had trapped the hand against her sex. She almost squirmed when a finger began to slither along the outside of her lacy knickers, stroking the length of her pussy. She saw Portia regarding her carefully, an eyebrow arched, and the corners of her lips curled ever so slightly as she gave the girl a knowing smile.
"Are you alright my dear? You seem quite flushed."
Other diners turned towards her, and she stammered a reply, almost groaning as the intruding hand began to work its stealthy way down the front of her underwear.
