In this situation Meredith could honestly say she felt no remorse for what she was planning. The ends would justify her means, whatever they be. And she would not discount the growing excitement that urged her to keep going. How mischievous she felt! Normally it would be easy to forgive and forget. Who had time to spend on old grudges? But this time was infinitely different. If Meredith didn't put a stop to this now it would never stop.
The situation in question was the behavior of Meredith's roommate, Becca. Becca's issue was the amount of disrespect she showed to her roommate. It could be tolerated for a short time but to let it continue was out of the question. This disrespect came in the form of Becca sleeping with all of Meredith's ex lovers after they had broken up.
Now Meredith wasn't some selfish, crazy bitch. She was fine with Becca fucking anyone the roommate wanted. However in the case, bringing it up constantly to piss Meredith off, brings to light a pattern that couldn't be ignored. Meredith assumed the point that the other girl was trying to get across is that Becca was better than her counterpart because she "made it work" where Meredith chose to end her relationships.
It was common knowledge that Meredith didn't believe in monogamy for too long. A good three or four months was enough to get tired of someone. And if there was a reason to end the relationship even earlier, well that was even better. It didn't have to be much. A guy who didn't tip his servers, the chick who couldn't get off her phone for a single conversation, or that one poor idiot who really wasn't ready for a rebound because he would NOT stop talking about his ex girlfriend.
Each time she broke it off as clean as could and moved on to the next person. As long as she was being safe and no one was getting any lasting hurt, who had the right to comment on what she did? Well Becca thought she did apparently. She spend the first day after the take down being so condescending about how she felt so bad and she had no idea how it happened. Anyone would think her being so apologetic meant that's where she would end the relationship that made her feel so sorry.
But that's never how it went. Every time she would get ready to go visit whichever ex it was, Becca would ask over and over if it was ok with Meredith. If it was crossing some kind of line. And every time the answer was the same; no. But Becca could NEVER just let the sleeping dog lie. She'd be practically badgering her roommate to tell her that the other felt some type of butthurt about it. It never happened though. Meredith wouldn't give that skank the satisfaction.
That's not the worse part though. That came when Becca would go into detail about whatever broke Meredith and the ex up. She'd make it seem like it was a non-issue and that to break up over it clearly meant something was wrong with Meredith and not the relationship. What a fucking bitch. Here's an example of one such conversation.
"Mer, you know I'm surprised you couldn't get over whats-his-face's mommy issues. I think it's sweet that a guy cares enough about his mother to bring her up during sex. I didn't really mind it. It means he's a nurturing guy! I guess someone who doesn't make connection has a hard time finding common ground with a guy like that. No offense though."
Another favorite that Meredith was thinking about: "You know hun, I don't get how you couldn't make whats-his-face cum with your mouth. He's such a hair trigger! I guess some people just have a natural talent for giving head. I'm sure you're good though. Maybe it was just the technique you were using."
All this mired with Becca's childish attitude and her overall unpleasant had Meredith ready to abandon the sinking ship for the nearest spot of land. This whole scheme only came from the already set plans of Meredith moving. She found someone looking for a roommate, so her and her new guy were gonna get all of her shit together during the weekend when Becca was mostly to be out. And Meredith's roommate was so focused on herself she hadn't even noticed most of Meredith's things were boxed up.
As Meredith was thinking about how nice her new roommate was she felt angry. The plan was to leave without a word and Becca being stuck with the rent bill. That's how Meredith would stick it to the other girl for her behavior. But that wasn't enough! The punishment didn't fit the crime. And to be honest Meredith knew the silly girl wouldn't be able to pay the full amount. Although Becca should pay for how she acted, making her homeless felt extreme.
That's when the plan came into view. Meredith would leave her share of the rent and in exchange she wouldn't feel compelled to be merciful to Becca. It worried her just a little but Meredith enjoyed her much of a bitch she wanted to be. It was a simple plan to be sure. Meredith would make Becca feel like sloppy seconds. She used all those exes to make her roommate feel second best. And returning the favor would be very fun.
It was a bit of a chore trying to convince her new guy Matt to agree to help her. But he saw the game it could be turned into and he was a very big fan of sex games. They often role played and staged scenes together. This one would be easy to work. Meredith knew her roommate wouldn't resist the chance to throw Becca's "takedown" in her face.
************************************
"Mer, are alright hun? I heard your conversation with Matt and I just wanted to make sure you two are ok?"
To someone who didn't know about Becca's actions her concern would have seemed so sweet. But Meredith knew and hearing her roommate's question made her even more resolved about what she had planned to do.
"I'm sorry you had to overhear that. Me and Mattie just broke up."
She could even tear up as she spoke to add the authenticity. Becca put her hand on Meredith's shoulder and squeezed softly. The other girl equated it to a viper coiling it's body before striking.
"Oh no honey! What happened, you guys have only been seeing each other for a couple of weeks right?"
"Yeah, the weird thing is it felt so real. I thought he was gonna be different. But I just couldn't participate in his filthy sexual lifestyle. The things that he wanted me to do! I'm just not that kind of girl."
"I'm so sorry honey. It'll be alright. You know what, do you have any stuff at his place? I'll catch an Uber and go get it so you don't have to. And then you'll truly be done with the guy. Here give me his number."
Holy shit, she was really falling for it! Meredith sniffled and typed out Matt's number. When Becca got it she sent a quick text and gave her roommate a side hug.
"I'll handle it Mer. You just relax here. I've got some pot in my room if you need to mellow. I'll text you when I'm on my way back. I'm not coming straight home so if I'm gone for a little while, don't worry about it."
Meredith got a text as the other girl got up and went into her bedroom. As soon as the door closed the text was opened. Matt had sent her a screen shot of what Becca had texted him.
'Becca: Hey, Matt. This is Becca, Meredith's roommate. Got a second to talk?'
Matt played it so well. He was supposed to seem like he didn't want to talk about Meredith or getting back together. He wanted nothing to do with his ex and he was close to doing whatever he could to forget about her.
'Matt: Look, if ur here to tell me that breaking up with Meredith was a mistake, ur wasting ur breath. I don't give a fuck how she feels. I'm done with her.'
'Becca: No, this is me texting to check on YOU. I know how demanding and self righteous she can be at times. I love her to death but it gets old real quick. Do you need someone to talk to? I'm swinging by Wendy's and thought maybe I should check in with some nuggets?'
'Matt: I don't think tequila and chicken nuggets go together. Why don't u come over and bring something to drink?'
Meredith sat back with a smirk at how well this was falling into place. It was almost sad how easily she had duped her roommate into going along with all of this.
