Wanda found Leanne almost pleasant to work with the following week. She guessed the new slave was terrified of what the other girls called slave girl justice. Leanne seemed to make a real effort to be polite and do any assigned task around the household with enthusiasm. Her attitude was projected into the workplace as well. She worked her own caseload and even offered to help the others.
"Did you shock her too many times with that slave collar?" Eric Whitaker, one of the accountants, asked Wanda with a grin. "Something sure as hell got into the woman!" Wanda shook her head.
"Maybe she is realizing the world does not revolve around her." Wanda said. "Her status in society changed and she is coming to grips with a new reality."
"Well whatever it is, I like it!" Eric said. "So do the others. Oh, by the way, you are doing a good job as manager. That is not just me kissing your ass. That is the general consensus." Wanda thanked him and offered a slight smile. His praise meant a lot to her. Eric was one of the senior members of the team. He had worked for the Waddsworth firm for years.
Thursday John came out to tell everyone he was considering a new hire. "I've been thinking about expanding the company by a position or two. This woman is moving back to Lafayette. She has family here. I like her credentials but we have only talked briefly over the phone. She is coming in to meet us tomorrow afternoon. I'd like everyone to be available to meet her. Wanda saw Leanne stiffen a bit.
"John, I'm looking forward to meeting this new accountant, but I think we should probably hold off making her an offer until next week even if we do like her." Wanda said. John looked puzzled. "Leanne has a commitment starting tomorrow morning and will not be back until Monday afternoon at the earliest. I think we should have her input before we hire anyone." John was surprised at Wanda's suggestion but not nearly as much as Leanne.
"You mean you want my opinion?" Leanne asked.
"Of course." Wanda said. "You were office manager for years. You have expertise. You and I may have butted heads a few times." This drew immediate snickers from several people. "but I value what you have to say. You have the best interests of the firm in mind. Hey, John and I can always outvote you." This drew smiles. "Actually I want feedback from everyone on the staff. We are a team."
"Well, if you want feedback." Carol Watkins said, "Have you thought about hiring your own daughter? I met her a couple times last summer when she stopped by to see you. I know she is an accounting major and about to graduate. I like her." A couple of the others nodded.
"You don't think that would be a little nepotism?" Wanda asked. "Plus she is planning grad school to work on her MBA and would still need a year or better of working before she can take her CPA exam."
"So bring her on part time. Give her a little experience. I don't give a damn about nepotism. I mean John and Leanne were here as a team. They did not let their relationship get in the way of taking care of clients." Eric offered.
"Don't worry. I've thought about Wanda's daughter." John said. "I don't want her working for the competition if I can get her. But that is down the road. Alright, I'll go along with Wanda's plan. We won't make a final decision until everybody, including Leanne, is asked his or her opinion."
"You are one smart woman, Wanda." John offered when he and Wanda conferred in his office later. "With just a few comments you pulled the whole group into a unit. Even Leanne is willing to kiss your ass right now." he laughed.
"I own, well Derek owns twenty percent of the business." Wanda said. "It is in our best interest to do the best for the firm. Who knows what my daughter will do in a couple years? She might set up her own company and offer me a job." She grinned at John who looked shocked at the idea. Then he grinned back as he realized she was teasing. "I will be a little late in the morning. Not too much. Derek is signing Leanne into slave camp. I have to sign in Doug Benoit, the lawyer who screwed me over." John told her it was not a problem.
When they got off work, Wanda and Leanne went to the Rhino's Horn to talk to Steve about coordinating getting Benoit to the induction center on time. "I understand you have issues with the man." Steve said. "Normally I'd suggest you take him home this evening and let him skip work tonight. But to tell the truth, I'd hate to see you get in trouble for killing him overnight." They both laughed. "As much as it pains me to get up at the butt-crack of dawn, I'll take him to the slave induction center in the morning. You can buy me breakfast after you sign him in. Call me in the morning to make sure I am up."
"Deal!" Wanda said. "How is the asshole doing?" She laughed. "I should say, is my slave performing his duties to your satisfaction?" Steve laughed.
"He protested having to give blowjobs a little at first but he is bi-sexual at heart." Steve said. "I'm sure he has had gay encounters at those parties he went to with his cousin.. I've had several people tell me they recognize him. He is far more embarrassed that he is a slave than what he does in the cubicles in the back room. His loss of status really upsets him. When I had his hair styled and he lost his executive persona he almost cried. And up to that point he had not really shown much emotion. Just acted like he was in shock. Six months in the back room and the boy will be a full fledged gay cocksucking slut."
"Derek mentioned sending him to Florida to work for Sandy if he doesn't work out here. I'm not sure what she would do with him. Maybe get him an office job. He'd make more money for y'all doing that though. You know we really ought to re-work our deal. I make far more than you do for his efforts and he is your slave."
Wanda laughed. "How about this? I get free drinks for me and whoever I bring in with me?" She and Leanne were both sipping a mixed drink.
Steve laughed. "Hell, you get that anyway!" Wanda laughed and said she might bring in some of her staff from time to time for a little team building. "Okay. not a problem. As long as you don't have a convention. Bring your people! Call me to make sure I dragged my ass out of bed. I'll meet you at the center."
On the way home, Leanne said.'That guy is right. You could make a lot more money from that lawyer than just a few dollars for every blowjob he gives."
