The cold bites my cheeks as I watch the winter rains clean So Cal of its funk. People driving through pools like it's any other day, and nothing more.
"Ahhh!...Fuck You Too!"
I turn left to find a girl who had just been drenched head to toe in street grime by a white truck speeding away.
Poor thing, all drenched and shivering in her leggings and hoodie, only warm enough for California winters. Her ebony skin glimmering in the lights of the passing cars.
What a gorgeous woman, her curly hair framing a full face. I'd hate it if someone told me this, but, the water glistening in her hair made her look like a fairy for wishes and dreams. "Hmm," I murmured as I pictured what dreams that long, lean, and luxurious body made me wish for. I felt myself dampen as I gazed at her. Deciding then and there that she would be mine.
Walking up to her, I put on a face of disgust and female frustration. "What an asswhole! Are you alright?"
"Ya, just wish I could beat some sense into that punk ass. Who does he think he is? Driving like that in this weather?"
"Agreed."
She whips out her phone and curses, "Dam it! He drenched my phone too."
"Oh Crap!" I hide my intrigue for infuriation, "That's so messed up."
"Can I borrow yours," she asks as the temper in her eyes drives me even closer to action.
"Well, I'm sorry. My cell's charging. I suppose you could use it if you want. My home's just a few minutes away."
She gives me an annoyed glance as she jumps from foot to foot, as the chill from the water starts to reach her bones. "Oh, fine." She's quiet for a moment but then blurts out a thanks as if trying to show she is civil, underneath her reaction to the entire situation. I give her a small, pitying smile as I point which direction we're going.
I decide to walk in front, just so that she thinks I'm only helping her. After a few minutes, I start up a conversation, deciding silence would be less likely to put her at ease. "Rough day for a walk. Before the idiot decided to surprise you, were you enjoying sunny LA
She chuckles softly and gives a sie of disbelief. "I'm from Washington, so this WAAAS a lovely day for me."
