Captain Edward Price looked out the window at the pouring rain as he sat in the passenger seat of the parked police cruiser. He subconsciously flattened his moustache with his fingers as he peered through the rain and down the poorly lit road ahead of them.
Still nothing. Punctuality. A lost discipline,
Price thought to himself. He had been on time. Dave's moving trucks were not. He didn't know what Dave was moving and he frankly didn't care. The trucks could be full of bodies for all he cared. Dave was paying him and his men an obscene amount of money not to care. He would escort the trucks to the state border and bribe the men on shift at the checkpoint. He had picked this particular time of night because he knew the men on duty. They were amenable, as long as the money was decent.
Price looked to the man to his left in the drivers seat.
This kid is greener than grass.
The deputy driving Price was only seven months on the job and had absolutely no idea what they were really doing. As far as Deputy Jones was concerned, this was business as usual and completely above board. As such, he didn't get a cut. There was simply no need.
Engage the captain. Get him talking. Make sure he knows your name,
Jones thought to himself, psyching him self up to talk to the large, intimidating man sitting along side him in his cruiser.
"Lousy night for it, wouldn't you say Captain?" Jones asked.
The weather? The weather?! You idiot,
Jones thought, immediately regretting breaking the silence.
"True enough, son. Still, we don't get much rain here so it seems a little petty to complain about it though," Price answered, still staring out the window.
"Uh, yeah. That's a good point, sir," Jones replied.
What now, genius. His girl. Ask about his girl.
"So, was that your girlfriend who visited you last night at the station," Jones asked.
"One of 'em," Price said, grinning at the rookie now. Jones laughed a little, unsure if the Captain was joking or being serious.
Jones thought back to the previous night. He had been at his desk when she had arrived. He hadn't been able to believe his eyes as the stunning redhead strutted through the precinct, her hips swaying with each confident step. Wearing long heels, her legs had been bare, covered only by a coat that came down to her thighs. The cream coat had a belt across the middle The coat was covering whatever she was wearing underneath, but was unbuttoned a little at the front to display her cleavage. He couldn't help get turned on as he watched her walk past him, his cock had twitched and stiffened his uniform pants. The sight of her fiery hair cascading down her back, the way her tits bounced slightly with each step, the sheer sex appeal radiating from her. She had made an impression on him. And not just him.
Jones had seen the other officers pause in their tracks, their eyes glued to the gorgeous creature as she passed by. Some openly gawked in awe and desire. Others tried to play it cooler, sneaking glances while pretending to work, but the hunger in their eyes was obvious. The entire floor of officers had watched as she knocked on the Captain's door and entered, their minds racing with filthy thoughts as they imagined what Captain Price might be lucky enough to experience. Jones had been surprised that the Captain had been able to get with such a woman.
Price smiled at the rookie, enjoying the impressed look Jones was giving him. Of course, the rookie wasn't privy to the deal between Dave and Price. The girls of The Pearl were part of it. Sarah was the latest "payment." Price had been pleased when she had entered his office. He had requested Lara again, his thoughts often lingering on their first encounter. He had wanted a repeat performance from the woman who had given him the best head he'd had in years. He had wanted to fuck her senseless this time. But Dave had told him she was unavailable. Again. Price had let his irritation show but Dave had assured him, Lara's replacement would be up to the standard. And from a looks perspective, he had been telling the truth.
When she had introduced herself and dropped her coat, revealing her completely naked body, Price had almost had a heart attack. She had looked a vision, smiling at him in nothing but heels. Her body had delicious curves while still being fit and lean, her stomach toned with barely an ounce of fat on her. Her tits were spectacular, framed by her long flowing red hair draped over them. The heels had accentuated her delicious legs as they seemed to go on forever. He had vowed then and there to fuck her on his table, loudly, so that the rest of the department could hear.
But it hadn't happened. Sarah had mounted him in his chair. She had made out with him passionately and aggressively. Price had gotten worked up quickly and had been shocked when she had made him cum with her hands alone within a couple of minutes. She hadn't even swallowed. He had come all over himself as if it had been his first time. He'd had to change into his civvies as she had left.
But the rest of the boys didn't know that and he had no intention of telling them. As far as they were concerned, he'd rocked her world. Quietly and quickly, apparently.
"They love a man in uniform, son. The rank helps too. Attracted to the power, ya know?" Price told the young man who was too inexperienced to recognise the bullshit being peddled. Jones merely nodded before snapping his head back to the vehicles approaching their parked car.
"Look, sir. The trucks for the training exercise are here," Jones announced.
"Good spot, Jones. You stay at the wheel. I'll initiate the exercise with the driver," Price said, spinning another tale as he opened the door to get out of the vehicle. Price approached the drivers side of the lead truck and motioned for the driver to roll down the window.
"You cunts are late. Next time, I won't still be here. Understand?" Price growled at the driver. The man behind the wheel simply nodded.
"Right. We'll lead. Follow close behind," Price told him, heading back to the police car.
-----------------------------------
The following day, Lara stood in the middle of her new apartment and took in her new surroundings. She had moved in that very morning following a two day search for a new place to live. She had finally decided that enough was enough. She couldn't stand living in that former shithole any longer. The search had been short. She had known she wanted the apartment from the moment she had seen it. Located near the beach. the building was much more upmarket than her former place. Not quite as opulent as Lenny's place that she had visited previously, but not far off. It was well maintained and had impressive features and amenities. There was washing and drying units in the basement of the building. It had a pool exclusively for the residents. It even had a small gym.
It hadn't taken her long to move in. Dave had offered her use of his moving company but she turned him down. It would have been overkill. She didn't have much, most of it being clothes. All her moving boxes had fit in her car in a single trip. The apartment itself was spacious and beautifully furnished, which suited Lara, as her long gone loser ex-boyfriend had stolen most of hers in the previous place. The kitchen was enormous, with blue granite counter-tops and an assortment of appliances that Lara was sure she would never use. The leather sofas were Italian leather and the floor was porcelain tile. There was also a giant and luxurious silk rug at the centre of the room which Lara had spent some time walking bare foot through over and over. It had an en-suite bathroom attached to the bedroom and enormous walk in closets that Lara was determined to start filling up. But the most impressive feature, the one that had made Lara fall in love with the place, was the view. Large glass windows opened up to a beautiful view of the ocean. Lara couldn't stop staring out at it.
I can't believe I live here!
In truth, the place was expensive. She was paying 4,600 dollars a month in rent, not to mention the three months up front plus a security deposit. It was a significant outlay of cash. She could afford it. That was the rationalization she had made with herself for spending so much. But she knew if she wanted to stay there, she would need to keep her job at The Pearl.
The original plan of working just long enough to pay off her debts and maybe fix her car had been forgotten. Lara had gotten used to having money in her purse and in her account. Grown accustomed to buying nice clothes and even nicer lingerie. Familiar with being able to order take-out every day, often multiple times. She had also sent her banged up Beetle into the shop to finally be repaired once she had unloaded the last of her moving boxes. She expected the car repair bill to be large once the mechanic had seen to everything it needed. And now in her new place, Lara didn't want to give any of it up. Money may not buy happiness but it sure as shit helped stave off misery.
The door bell buzzed which brought her out of her reverie. She knew who it was and had been expecting them. She went to the door and opened it.
"Hi Daddy," Lara said as her father stood in the doorway.
"Hello, sweetheart," he said as he leaned forward to give her a big hug. She hugged him back and could see her mother over his shoulder behind him.
"Well? Invite us in, Lara. I can't wait to see your new place," her mother said, not actually waiting for an invitation and walking past the pair of them and into the apartment.
"Sure thing, Mom," Lara said, rolling her eyes so that only her father could see. He chuckled as he and Lara followed his wife inside.
"Frank, look at this kitchen! Oh, it's magnificent. You could cook for forty people in here," Lara's mother exclaimed.
"Yes, it's really nice, Mom," Lara said, agreeing with her mother despite the hyperbole.
"Nice, and clearly not cheap," her mother said, while rounding on Lara with a suspicious look.
"Yeah I got a really good deal. It's more affordable than you would think," Lara replied, lying through her teeth.
"I'm sure," her mother replied simply, doubt written all over her face.
