Mae scanned the walls of her new room. It had many of her old things, which led her to think things she'd rather not dwell on. She was at a loss of what to do now. She had to keep fighting him, but must be smarter about it. It just kept coming back to bite her in the ass. Mae realized she needed what she lacked most: information. Deciding that started with getting out of the comforting but unsettling familiarity of the room, she went to try the door.
Being able to have actual sunlight to assist with time-telling let her know she had gotten up earlier than usual. Also, the fact that Jack hadn't come in yet helped. Turning the knob to her door, Mae's heart skipped to find it actually unlocked. Exiting the room silently, and precariously on her tiptoes, Mae explored tentatively, as a cat might. Waiting for signs of danger at any moment.
Although Mae had been out and around the house before, this was the first time she experienced it by herself, with no leash keeping her at bay. Using the bathroom, Mae then searched for anything remotely sharp, like tweezers, but found nothing but toiletries. Exiting the bathroom, Mae went to Jack's office, but found the door both shut and locked.
After thoroughly snooping, and ending up empty-handed, Mae grabbed cheerios and poured them into a bowl with milk. Perhaps food would fuel more ideas. Not able to stop herself, Mae laughed when she noticed the butter knives were missing from the flatware.
"I love that sound." Jack said.
Jumping, Mae instinctively grabbed a fork, and held it in front of her as she turned around.
"I didn't mean to frighten you sweet girl." Noticing what Mae held, he chuckled, "What, are you going to skewer me with a fork?"
"I might." After a brief pause, Mae set the fork back down. "It would work just as well as a butter knife might."
"Mm perhaps. Should I hide the forks as well then? Have you eat only with spoons?"
"Ah, you forget, spoons are great for scooping out eyes." Mae said as she grabbed a spoon and put it in her bowl.
"How could I forget such delightful imagery?" Jack mused as he scrunched his nose slightly.
"Oh is that the line for you? I thought it would be right in your wheelhouse. Next to kidnapping women and beating them." Mae sneered and took a bite.
"If it's something your interested in, I'd be happy to oblige, but I must admit, I'd miss looking into those beautiful eyes."
"You're a sick fucking bastard."
"There you go again, with those naughty naughty words. So disrespectful. Should I put soap in your mouth to teach you a lesson?"
"I am grown fucking woman, and I can say whatever the fuck I want, you fucking prick."
"Yes, you can say what you want, but you will respect me Mae. You will learn that certain words are not appropriate and will have repercussions." Jack said and walked away.
Rolling her eyes, Mae finished her cereal. Walking back in the kitchen, Mae noticed Jack holding a bar of soap in his hand as he appeared.
"You're joking right?" Mae asked.
"I'm afraid not. Come here little girl."
"Yeah, no fucking way asshole." Although she continued to rile Jack with her words, a pit dropped in her stomach at the thought of actually having the soap in her mouth. She already wanted to gag at the thought.
"I would listen and get over here if I were you. You currently will have eight minutes of soap in your mouth. A minute per every bad word you've spoken this morning. If you come here and take your punishment, I will reduce the time."
"Eight minutes!? Listen, this is ridiculous. You kidnapped me, you knew I swear like a fucking sailor, and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon, alright."
"That's nine minutes now Mae. Of course I know that naughty little mouth well. It's one of the many bad habits of yours I plan on correcting. No one will ever take you seriously. Now this is your last chance, come here."
"I don't care about being taken seriously! And it's not your habit to break!" Mae argued as she backed away from him. "I'm not a child, and only fucking crazy people would do this to their child."
"And that's ten minutes." Jack sighed and then jolted towards Mae. Running to get away from him, Mae failed as Jack gripped onto her shirt, and pulled hard, throwing her off balance.
Lowering them both to the floor as Mae struggled, Jack kept her back securely against him. Instead of screaming or arguing further, Mae already began to prepare by keeping her mouth securely shut. That didn't stop her from doing her best to break free from him. Jack secured his legs over Mae's and one of his arms slunk over her chest, until it secured both arms.
"You really make things so much harder for yourself little girl." Jack said and using his other hand pinched Mae's nose with his fingers.
Holding out as long as she could, Mae couldn't stand it any longer and instinctually opened her mouth to take a breath. Though she barely opened her mouth and let in the breath in through her teeth. Gripping her jaw, Jack pried it open, and Mae let out a cry at the roughness but also her defeat. Gagging as Jack filled her mouth with soap she immediately tried to spit it out, but he held it there, turning his hand to look at the time on his watch. Thrashing even more, trying to get away from the disgusting taste of the soap, Mae continued to gag, thinking she would vomit up her cereal at any moment. Realizing the thrashing only made it worse, as her teeth sunk into the soap, and it filled her mouth, Mae stilled.
Beginning to cry as the soap sat in her mouth, the experience only worsened as the soap began to get slicker with her saliva, filling up her mouth with more soap.
"I'm sorry." She tried to cry through the soap.
"Oh, I know you are. You still have six minutes left though." Jack said.
Crying more at his words, the soap continued to fill her mouth, she couldn't believe it had only been four minutes.
"I tried to warn you Mae. Your life will get a whole lot easier if you would just learn to listen to me. Next time you will not receive a warning. Do you understand?" Dejectedly, Mae nodded.
Finally, after what felt like years, Jack released Mae's mouth. Spitting out the soap, all Mae wanted to do was wash the soap residue out. Heaving, she really thought she might throw up. However, Jack hadn't quite released her. Holding her, Jack waited, looking down at Mae expectantly. Desperation to get the taste out of her mouth won out, and honestly, Mae wasn't sure she had much fight left in her after that.
"I'm sorry for swearing sir." she whispered, but Jack still wouldn't release her. "Thank you for punishing me sir." With those words he kissed her temple.
"You may go rinse out your mouth now. I hope you've learned your lesson, and we don't have to do this again." With that he released her, and Mae ran to the bathroom and slammed the door. She didn't try for the lock, knowing there wasn't one, and even if there were it wouldn't stop him. Instead, she hurried to the sink and washed out her mouth continuously. Mae brushed her teeth several times to try and remove the taste, paying special attention to scraping her tongue.
When Mae finally emerged, Jack bookmarked his page and looked up at her. "All better?" He asked as he opened his arms to her.
