Chloe's hand rested gently on Logan's torso. Lying next to him, so close soothed some of the hurt she felt. In her dream, she saw Cassie peaceful and joyful. Cassandra's laughter filled her eardrums. But Chloe was wet. Like bleeding wet. She tried to move away from Logan, but his hands were wrapped around her protectively. She opened her eyes to see him staring at her. Now that she was awake, it made sense why she was wet. She was on her freaken period! She felt so ashamed she wanted to hide.
"What? What's wrong?" he asked, sensing her uneasiness.
She blushed, her skin scarlet red. "I'm on my period. I had no idea it'd come today. I-I'm really sorry," she apologized. He looked at her, "You don't need to apologise." His tone was concerned and considerate.
"I need to leave. Cassie needs me."
"Chloe, I'll take you home. I'm not letting you leave until you've had something to eat."
"No, don't. Kristen might see you and it'll cause trouble between you two. I'll be fine," she got up. Her menstrual bleeding was so embarrassing, Logan wasn't supposed to see this. He felt real sorry for her. Was she experiencing pain? How long would the bleeding last? And was he the one who caused by hurting her last night? He felt bad. "Here, come on," he lifted her.
"What'd you doing?"
"I'm helping you. You look like you're in pain."
She was in pain, bruised. His thoughtfulness shocked her however. He could be one person this minute and somebody different the next. He ran her a bath. They didn't say anything to each other. The warm water soothed her sore muscles. He caressed every part of her body. She relaxed under his care. "What's on your mind?" he asked while he wrapped a warm cotton towel around her body. She didn't respond, she was totally absorbed in silence. She liked the intimacy between the two of them. Her silence let him know this wasn't time for conversation. He was just content with having her beside him. That's all that mattered to him.
After eating, Chloe felt better. Logan had asked one of his assistants to get her menstrual pads. She was so relieved that matter was sorted. "Sure you'll be okay?" he asked her. He had to make sure she was okay. Seeing her bleed scared the fuck out of him. He couldn't stop feeling guilty. "I'll be fine Logan. Thanks," she walked towards the elevator door. "Logan, whatever happened between us. I'm willing to put it behind us. Promise me it'll stop." She was tired of fighting, of being taken against her will. All she wanted was things to go back to normal. Logan nodded. He knew he'd never let her go, not now, not ever.
"God, you're so sleepy. Hectic night?"
"I'm super tired."
"Too bad, I thought we'd go out tonight."
"Who'd baby sit Cassie?"
"Damn it. That's another problem. We really should have a baby sitter."
"I don't trust anyone around my baby Kris."
"There we go again. You need to loosen up C. For real." They both giggled, Kristen was always telling Chloe to loosen up. Eventually it was their inside joke. Kristen's phone rang, a smile lit up her face. Chloe could tell it was Logan who's calling. She felt weird; knowing she was with him the entire night. Guilty because she knew she was falling for him. Not him, she told herself, just a part of him that was might care about her. Kristen looked excited, maybe things were working out between her and Logan finally.
Chloe was lost in thought, she didn't want to hear Kristen talk about Logan. It'd break her heart. "Logan's coming. He's bringing dinner."
"Oh," Chloe panicked. "I'm actually not hungry Kris. I should get to bed and rest."
"Nonsense. You're hardly around dinner time. Come on C, you know we hardly eat together."
