She was hoping the events of the previous night were only a nightmare, one she was desperate to wake from. She could smell his cologne all over her body. She could hear him speak in her mind. The fear on her face was still present, along with the bite marks on her neck. No, last night wasn't a nightmare she could easily wake from. Upon opening her eyes and staring at the ceiling, she recalled everything he had done to her. She took a deep breath in, shook her head, fighting away the tears. He had forced himself on her! Logan had raped her!
Chloe didn't want to believe he was a monster. She had known him for a couple of months since he was going out with her roommate Kristen. She saw him at work; whenever she had to do nightshifts. He was quiet, calculating and mean. Logan owned a lot of hotels and casinos. Although his demeanour was cold, he was an incredible boss and all his employees sang praises for him. He wasn't Chloe's boss technically. The 23 year old was only a cleaner hired through an agency for Hawk's headquarters. Slowly, Chloe got up. It was 06:54 and Cassie was already late for school. Walking in the hallway she could tell Kristen was awake. She prayed they wouldn't bump into each other anytime soon. Waking Cassie, she prayed her daughter wouldn't sense her unease and pain.. The last thing she wanted was Cassie being stressed up or upset. Her daughter was all she had. Then and there , Chloe decided she wasn't going to tell Kristen about what had happened. She needed a roof over her head and Cassie's safety came first.
"Good morning Princess," Chloe kissed her daughter's cheek, holding her hand in her own. She could tell her tears were close to rolling down her cheeks. Maybe she just wasn't strong enough to be pretend she was fine. She wanted to cry, to tell somebody what Logan had done to her and just how much she hated him. "Morning mommy. You look sad," Cassandra frowned. She could tell Chloe was about to cry. "Mommy's not sad sweety, I'm just tired. I'm so sorry I woke you up late. If you don't wanna be late for school, we better get up now."
"But I don't want to go to school!" Cassandra protested.
"I know sweety, but today is Friday. We'll have the whole weekend to play and spend time together. Remember what mom always says about education. You need it!"
