Frank was done with work for the day and was wondering what to do next. He gave some thought to visiting the nearby New England Aquarium where they had a new blue and orange lobster on display. He liked the aquarium and how it would be so tranquil in the few minutes before closing time when the crowds were gone from the place.
"Not today." he said to himself out loud. Not that anyone would hear him since he worked from home.
Frank handled an investment portfolio for an insurance company and while he enjoyed the work it could be somewhat lonely at times. Ever since the virus in 2020 he'd worked at home and he rather missed the social life that came along with working in an office with other people.
The company's main office was in Salt Lake City these days, having fled New York State for a much friendlier business environment in the Beehive State. Frank would fly out on occasion and meet the people he'd see on the computer and it was nice but then he'd get right back to Boston to focus on his work.
This particular Friday was the start of the three-day Memorial Day weekend and for whatever reason he decided he needed to find some company. He had installed the Date-n-Go app on his phone a few months before and tried it the one time. That didn't end well. The woman he'd swiped right on had put on another hundred pounds since she'd taken her profile picture and her personality was for shit. That 'date' had lasted all of about ten minutes before he got up and walked away.
Now he contemplated being alone for the holiday weekend and that wasn't very appealing.
"Fuck it." he said as he pulled out his phone, clicked into Date-n-Go, and activated his profile. He chose the 'hookup' option since he didn't want to start a romance here, he just wanted some company and maybe get his dick wet while he was at it.
He'd only had it activated for a few minutes when he had a bite.
"Dawn" was her name. Dark red hair, twenty eight years old, five-five tall, and on the lighter side. She wasn't a supermodel but she was definitely cute with pixie-cut hair and a bright smile. She seemed real and Frank preferred real people to the usual fake people he'd see most of the time.
"Alright, let's see." he said as he accepted her swipe.
Over the course of a couple text messages he'd arranged a date and he expected Dawn at his place around five.
The first thing he did was to call Pammy's and place an order. He was well known at the place and he trusted them to send someone over with his order and not just send it via a delivery service.
He always kept his Hancock Street home neat and clean so the only remaining preparation he needed to do was to get a decent shirt on and a pair of light linen pants. To this he added a pair of slip on loafers and now he was fashionably dressed.
The food arrived on time and the waitress from Pammy's was thrilled at the generous tip he handed to her.
He had just put the two bags of food on the kitchen counter when he heard the doorbell.
"Right on time." he said to himself.
He walked to the door and saw a glimpse of Dawn through the frosted glass before he opened it.
Frank was exceptional at reading people and assessing things and while he liked what he saw with Dawn he immediately recognized she wasn't twenty-eight nor was she five foot five. She was maybe nineteen or twenty and maybe, just maybe five foot even. And cute as hell. All in all, she looked better in person.
"Hi, you must be Dawn! Come on in!" he said to her as he reached out and took her hand and drew her into his house. She'd seemed a little reluctant so he figured he needed to give her a little help feeling at home. He locked the door just because that's what you do in a big city.
"Uh, hey...you're Frank?" she said to him. He caught her quizzical response but was a little mystified by it.
"Yep, I'm Frank. Nice to meet you, Dawn!"
He saw her study him. She scrutinized him like she was reading a prospectus.
"You posted a fake picture." she said. It was matter of fact and not at all emotional.
"No, not a fake, but that was me from ten years ago. It's just my best picture is all." he replied. And he was telling the truth. The portrait had been taken by a famous photographer and it really was his best picture. Up until Dawn said something he hadn't considered the need to update it.
"I need to go." said Dawn. Her reluctance and the thing with the picture had become a discomfort.
He stood between her and the door as he replied, "What's the problem? I'm not exactly what you were expecting? You're not exactly how you presented yourself either. You said you were taller and older and you're obviously not. My point is that almost no one lives up to their profile and it's part of the game or didn't you know that?"
The girl looked down at the floor and then back up at him through her bangs, "This was more my friend Lindsay's idea than mine. She wrote the profile for me."
'Fuck, she's cute' he thought to himself.
"You've never done this before?" he asked, referring to the planned hookup.
"No. Have you?"
He was sincere when he said, "I tried it once before and the woman who showed up wasn't even close to the woman in the picture. That was a bust. Then I logged on today figuring to give it one more try and I got lucky and here you are!"
It was at this moment he really took her in. The flowery dress was off the shoulder, her bare shoulders had a few freckles typical of a ginger, she was a little elf in his opinion, and he suddenly decided that he just had to fuck her. She was irresistible.
"Well, at least stay and have a little dinner with me okay? I just had a few things delivered from Pammy's and I'm sure there's something in there you'd like."
He could see she was vacillating between staying and leaving. "C'mon, just stay for a bit and then go. It'd be a shame if all the good food went to waste."
He saw her little button nose wriggle as she smelled good food. "Okay, I can stay for dinner."
"Good." And with that he turned and went out to the kitchen hoping she'd follow.
The girl watched him arrange the food on the counter and then he handed her a plate telling her to help herself.
He had a cheap Chianti and opened it because it was really a perfect complement to the Italian cuisine. Pouring a couple glasses he set them down on the cozy table that looked out to the tiny but meticulous garden in what passed for his back yard.
Soon enough the girl relaxed and their dinner and wine was enjoyed.
Her bare shoulders fascinated Frank. The dress showed a hint of her tits and he liked what he saw.
The two of them talked about their professions and Frank soon decided he liked her having an artistic side that she expressed in her graphic design work.
Dawn didn't say a thing when he opened the second bottle of Chianti. She was definitely loosening up with the wine and Frank suspected she was also giving herself license to let down her guard more than she was affected by the alcohol.
Frank kept talking to her when it came time to clear away the dishes and put away the leftovers. He wanted to keep her engaged instead of letting her start thinking about leaving, and he could see she was on the cusp of leaving.
He saw her look at his kitchen clock and by her reaction he could tell she was going to bolt. That wouldn't do. Something clicked in Frank and he started moving towards her as she pulled out her phone.
"I'll call a rideshare to get me home, okay? This was really nice." she said as he swept in and took the phone from her.
Her little mouth fell open in shock at his boldness. It made him all the more determined to get what he wanted.
"You don't need a ride right now. Maybe tomorrow. We still have something else to do tonight, don't we?" His voice was a little darker. A little more certain.
He saw her take in a breath as a hint of fear crossed her countenance. He couldn't explain it, but her actions just turned him on that much more.
"Hey, um, I thought we were okay not doing that?" she said.
'That'. He pondered it for a split second. A vision of what could be ran through his mind.
It was time for some honesty, "No, I just talked you into staying and I want to get back on track for that hookup we both wanted."
