It was a sunny warm spring day and Diana was down at the lake with Helena and Aphrodite, the girls were practising their swimming as rumour was that the Dark raiders from the south where in the area. They had been told that if the raiders came to head into the lake and swim north as once in deep water, they wouldn't follow and in the north they would be safe. The northern end of the lake was 6 Km away so whenever they could they all practised to ensure they were up to the long swim.
The Dark raiders had not been seen in a long time but they always came for virgins, Cassiopeia had been around the last time they stormed the village and had been lucky enough to get to the lake and swim out of their reach. Diana came out of the lake for a rest and to warm up as the lake was so cold, even in the height of summer it was still cold. They slept little during the night and in the morning they received water, bread and dates.
