A cool breeze caressed Daisy's cheek as she power walked down the long street leading to her friend's home. It was almost dark and the atmosphere was eerie due to Halloween being the center of attention for the day.
Her red skirt ruffled each time the wind picked it up, and she cursed herself for letting Veronica convince her to wear something so skimpy. Daisy was always doing things to satisfy others and if she didn't want to, they'd take from her anyway. That's exactly what happened with the twins. The intrusive thought made Daisy jerk in her devil costume, and the wind showed no mercy as it picked up her skirt for the fifth time.
She had to get that encounter out of her head and pretend it didn't happen. She didn't want to tell her friend or their father. It would cause a rift in the family and worst of all, she probably wouldn't be able to see her friend again. How could anything be normal between them after she confessed how twisted and sinister her brothers were? Or how would Veronica feel knowing she was out clothing shopping while her best friend had fallen victim to something so atrocious. Her bright, bubbly bff would never be the same, and that's the last thing she wanted.
Daisy didn't even know if they would believe her, it was technically two against one. Life already sucked and losing the one bright thing in her life was out of the question. She just had to avoid those evil twins as much as possible, even though that seemed impossible.
She finally reached the stone steps of Veronica's home, and pounded one shaking fist to the door. She was nervous. So damn nervous and that probably was because she had no idea where the twins were tonight. She could only hope, no pray, that they got invited to some Halloween party of their own and they wouldn't be anywhere near her.
The door flung open and Veronica stood at the entrance with radiating energy. She wore a short white dress with puffy sleeves and accessorized with touches of gold jewelry. Big white feathery wings protruding from her back, and the tips also held a hint of gold. The final touch were her heeled shoes with straps wrapping around her long legs.
"That's super cute." Daisy complimented. Her friend's outfit made her question if she could've done better with her own. She didn't accessorize. Only paired a ruffled red skirt with a red crop top and red flats. She'd brought some cheap devil ears on Temu that got lost in her two toned afro.
She had to take down her bouncy twists as a distraction from her exclusive twin experience. It didn't help. The constant replay of that day stayed fresh on her mind, regardless of any activity she did.
The final touches on her devil costume were black fishnets that could barely hold up against her thighs, and small red bat wings.
"You look cute too girl! Those fishnets are really doing it for your thighs." Daisy smiled. A compliment from Veronica was never ill mannered, she'd mean anything that left her mouth.
"Come on in, Cason and Cen are almost done getting ready and then we'll all head to the party" Daisy froze in place. No. Please no.
Her body was imploding with waves of panic as her friend grabbed her hand and pulled her through the threshold. Trapping her in her nightmare that she'd tried so hard to escape from. She led Daisy past the twins' room to reach her own, and thoughts of her thighs being pinned down by Cason's massive hands flashed in her mind. Another jolt of panic came as she was led through the hallway, that just days ago, was the start of her losing battle with those twisted twins.
Daisy dug her heels into the carpeted floor, before snatching her hand away from Veronica. Her friend paused and studied her, a look of surprise and curiosity flashing across her pale face. It hadn't occurred to Daisy how much she resembled her brothers, the thought made her stomach do somersaults.
"I have to go to the bathroom" she blurted as she rushed back towards the entrance of the home. Galloping into the small space before she plopped down on the toilet and threw her head in her hands.
She couldn't do this. She was barely holding it together in this cursed home, how the hell was she supposed to survive a night with those two devil spawns around. A tear almost escaped her hazel eyes until she heard a knock at the door.
"Daisy," Veronica's soothing voice permeated the air. "It's time to go when you're done." Fuck. She was doomed and she knew it.
Daisy emerged from the door after she gathered every ounce of courage she had left, which wasn't much. As the wooden structure creaked on its hinges, she could see Veronica's petite body slowly being revealed, then a few more inches and two massive frames hovered behind her. Daisy's breath hitched in her throat, almost suffocating her in an ironic way. She stepped over the door frame into her hell.
"Hey Daisy." Cen held a cocky smirk and the moment she made eye contact with him, she shifted focus to her friend.
"I'm ready to go." She meant it as if to go home and crawl into a hole to never be seen again, but she knew Veronica would interpret it in a different way. The twins, not so much. They were dressed as devils too, a fitting choice for a pair of demonic brothers.
A red blazer started their outfits, and the white dress shirt underneath only brightened the vivid color. It was followed by red pants and matching colored dress shoes. Each twin had tiny horns poking out from black locs, and Daisy grimaced at the idea of people thinking they planned their outfits together.
She hurried past all three siblings and made her way to the front door. She was already sick with digest and wanted to get this night started just so she could get it over with.
Veronica hurried towards her with pure excitement painted on her features before she swung open the door and screamed at the top of her lungs.
"Let's get this party started bitches!!" She cleared the stairs in one jump and waited impatiently at the car for the others. Daisy heard the jingle of keys before she felt hot breath on the cartridge of her ear.
"You look so fucking good in that costume." Cason complimented while Cen placed his nose at the juncture of her neck and inhaled, letting her scent fuel him in the most perverted way. "You better behave at this party, we'd hate to lose our composure." He threatened as they strolled past her and left her frozen in her own fear.
"Daisy, come on, the party already started." Her friend's voice rang in her ears as her body struggled to make any movements. The fear was so strong she began to shake inside out, her heart pumping faster than the speed of a jack hammer.
