I missed good character development and their motivations in erotic stories (that's what makes erotic stories different from porn). It's in non-con category but it doesn't reach there from the get-go. I've tried to show humane side of all characters, including the negative ones in this story.

"The Devil"

Part I - Infestation

"They don't have shit on Dad. The entire deposition was a way to intimidate us. I guess they should know better. We are the ones who does the intimidation stuff not the other way around," said Samuel "Sammy" Matthews.

A 21-year-old hot headed son of the most notorious gangster of the city. The prosecutor's office had finished the deposition just a few hours ago. They offered him a chance to plead guilty of all charges and they'll remove death penalty off the table.

Frank Matthews, a 45-year-old gangster, who had the strong hold on the entire city for over two decades. As a black kid, he struggled with racism. Until one day he flipped and took the life of crime. He swore to always be the biggest threat in any room. It worked for over two decades.

Everything changed when James Oliver became district attorney for the second term. He kept his distance from Frank during the first term. When a representative of a political party approached him and suggested to tackle the crime if he wishes to have political career in future. He planted the seed in James' head. The future governor must prove that he was hard on crime when he had the opportunity. When Kevin Murphy, Frank's right-hand man died last year, it was the perfect opportunity to target him. This was the weakest Frank has ever been.

"Frank has retained me as his lawyer through everything, for one reason. I tell him things exactly as they are and not sugarcoat things. Depositions are no indication to trials. A lot of times prosecution can surprise you in a trial. I know James personally. He would never go to a trial if he can't win it. Track record matters a lot to him," said Carter Murphy, a famous defense lawyer for rich or criminals.

He had represented many gangsters before Frank including the brutal Casey "Butcher" Marion. Casey was the symbol of white power during his time in the city. He was fucking his mistress when Frank shot him dead. Frank's fearless attitude became an instant household chatter. This helped him take over Casey's entire operation. Frank became the new godfather to the entire city.

Kevin Murphy was Casey's right-hand man and after his death became loyal to Frank. Kevin and Carter were brothers. The city knew them as "King Makers". Kevin was the older brother and had hold on everything.

Frank's illusion of true power broke after Kevin's death. He managed so many processes and people flawlessly. Now there was no one left to fill that void. This was the exact opening James needed to crack down on his gang. A perfect opportunity to lay down the foundation of a future political career.

"So, what are you trying to say? You can't do anything? We all should give up?" said Sammy with clear irritation in his voice.

"That's not what I said Sammy. And I would appreciate if you can show some respect to me when you talk. I'm not your college buddy," responded Carter.

Sammy took a deep breath and replied, "I'm sorry, Carter. I didn't mean any disrespect. I'm just pissed at that DA. He thinks he can get away with it." Sammy was young and brash but not a fool. He knew exactly what Carter meant for his father.

"My team can handle most evidence and witnesses they have. The problem is jury. The young sexy lawyer from his team is the real threat. She's exceptionally smart and her track record during jury selection is impeccable. She has an unimaginable control over jury when she presents her arguments. And you know it's the jury who decides whether your father is guilty or not," said Carter.

"She can have an accident tomorrow. There won't be any problem then," said Sammy.

"Please don't do anything stupid. She's Jonathan Goldman's daughter. Your father might survive the case, but John's wrath would be beyond anyone's control. There's a rumor floating around criminal syndicates that he's a prominent member of the secret society. Yes, the rumors are true. If they can assassinate presidents, no one's out of their reach."

"Why would a daughter of a multi-billionaire work for the DA's office?"

"If you want to believe the gossip world then she doesn't get along with her father. It's kind of revolt from her. She married her university boyfriend against his wishes. But destiny had different plans for her. Her now husband is a devout Catholic and this bond worked its magic on her father. Now her father loves the husband more than her. The husband left his promising career and became a volunteer in the church, serving God upon one request by her father," said Carter.

The intrigue on Sammy's face forced him to continue the story. "The over-involvement of her father in her marriage caused her to lash out. She stopped going to the church and threatened her husband of divorce if he doesn't stop this madness. Guess what happened next?" asked Carter with a smirk on his face.

"What?" asked Sammy.

"Her father created his will, and his lawyer announced it few days later. After his death, everything equally divided between both. But there was a catch, power of attorney is given to the husband for everything. If she needs even a cent, she will need her husband's signature. To add cherry on top, if they ever get divorced for any reason, she'll be disowned entirely. Everything goes to the husband. John is a ruthless bastard, but he loves his daughter. He thinks he made a hard choice which will be best for her in the long run."

"Wow. That's some crazy shit. What if the husband kills him and divorces his daughter?" asked Sammy.

"The husband isn't pretending. He truly believes in God. He's a true Catholic. Plus, killing John is not an easy feat. Remember, prominent member of the secret society," said Casey.

"That's some crazy shit, man," said Sammy. He turned towards his dad and realized that he was lost in some deep thoughts. "Dad? What's wrong?"

Frank got out of his trance and said, "that bitch called me THE DEVIL."

"What?" said both Carter and Sammy in unison. They were both confused.

"In the deposition today. That bitch lawyer called me the devil on earth, with no fear. She looked into my eyes as she said it. No one has ever dared to do such a thing. I don't care what happens, but she needs to learn some manners," said Frank in his fuming anger.

"I said we can kill her, but Carter here thinks that it's a bad idea," said Sammy.

"No. Death is easy. I'll make her life a living misery. She would beg to die but I won't let her," said Frank.

"I don't think that's a good idea, Frank. I'm not sure you heard about her father..." said Carter as he was interrupted by Frank.

"Jonathan Goldman. I know everything about that family. In fact, I know everything about everyone's family in DA's office. Know your enemy, remember. Don't worry, I'll come up with a perfect plan, soon. Her life will be miserable, and she'll do everything to hide it from her father. He can't help with something he doesn't know," said Frank.

"I still think it's an unnecessary risk," said Carter.

"This is the most necessary thing. She thinks I'm the devil. I'll show her what a devil can do."

Catherine Goldman (28) was a gorgeous rising lawyer in the city. She was on point in depositions and exceptional in court rooms. The win rate of DA's office increased exponentially since her arrival. Since her childhood, she had worked out every day with specific diet. Her trainers didn't believe in rest days and cheat diets.

John was a religious person and raised Cathy with same teachings. They even had a massive church within the compounds of their mansion. Off she went, to Harvard University. Got a law degree from the most prestigious university in the country.

She had so many offers but denied all and kept her promise to her father. Only promise she broke was not to interact with any boys. Cathy limited her interactions with boys a lot but only person who crossed all the barriers was Trevor.

He crossed all those barriers because she found too many similarities between him and her father. Trevor was also raised as a conservative Catholic. He never tried to have sex with her. They made out a couple of times but never went further. In such times, finding a couple who were in love but want to wait for their wedding night was unheard of.

After their graduation, she took him with her to introduce him to her father. John was furious at her. But when he got to interact with Trevor, he changed his mind. There couldn't be anyone better than this man for his daughter.

He called Trevor and said, "how do I know you are a true Catholic or a pretend?"

"I can't prove that to you, sir. But I can say one thing. I'm a true believer and I love your daughter. If you think there's anything I can do to prove it to you, I'll do it with no questions asked," said Trevor.

"Would you quit your promising career and serve God for life?" asked John.

"Yes, I would," replied Trevor with no hesitation.

"That's what I wanted to hear. I want you to help Father William to maintain the church in our compound. Do exactly as he command and serve God with all your heart and soul," said John.

"Yes, sir. It'll be my pleasure," replied Trevor.

"Call me, dad."

No one told about this new arrangement to Cathy until their marriage. After the wedding she joined the DA's office. She gave some time to Trevor but felt surprised that he had no desire to find a job. A Harvard Law School graduate who doesn't want to be a lawyer.

Finally, after a long argument one day, he told her about the agreement between her father and him.

"I'm so sorry Trevor. I didn't know you had to sacrifice so much for our marriage. I'll talk to him. He'll listen to me," said Cathy with tears in her eyes.

"No. Please Cathy don't say anything to him. I'm happy serving at the church. I'm at peace when I'm near our Lord Jesus Christ," said Trevor.

"What? Are you insane?"

She failed to convince him that day. Next day, she had a massive argument with her father. That day she promised him, "from today, I'll never step inside any church. I refuse to believe that there's any God." She said it to mess with her father's head.

As a stubborn girl, she kept her promise. Trevor brought the idea to start a family. This frightened her. The hold her father had over their marriage, he would force her to quit her job as well after the kid. She didn't say anything to him but made excuses every night when he would make advances towards her.

She began working long hours and would return after he had fallen asleep. It wouldn't avoid the problem forever. And one day at work, she was angrier than usual after another fight with Trevor. She took a deep breath and made a massive decision.

"I don't want kids. Ever," she thought.

Cathy booked an appointment for her tubal ligation surgery in a different state. She made an excuse of a conference and left for a week. At work she took time off. The surgery was successful, and doctor told her healing period of three weeks.

After her return, she continued avoiding Trevor. Weekdays was simple, work more at office. On weekends, she would pick up a fight and send him to sleep on the other bedroom. It worked like a charm. It was over two months they hadn't had sex.

This broke Trevor's heart. He couldn't speak anything, and tears began rolling down his eyes. He had never imagined of this time.

Few days later, John's lawyer announced his official will. Cathy was shocked. She wasn't going to divorce him. It was a bluff, and he called her bluff.

After everyone left, she turned to Trevor and said, "it's over Trevor. I'm done with you. Don't worry, I will not divorce you. We'll remain married forever, but you'll never touch me again. I never thought this day will come but today I hate you. Good luck with all the money. I hope it was worth it. But remember, I'll make your life miserable from here onwards. You'll pay for every dollar." And with that she turned and left for the bedroom.

Trevor stood there in shock. He went to John for suggestion. He never wanted any money from him. John insisted that this plan would work but it made things worse.

Cathy got out of the bedroom with few airbags filled with all Trevor's stuff. "All your stuff is in these bags. Move to the other bedroom. You are forbidden to enter in my bedroom ever again."

Trevor was speechless. He never thought things would go this wrong this fast. "She's angry right now. I'll talk to her tomorrow when she's calm. I'll beg her to forgive me. Whatever's required. I can't let this ruin our relationship," he thought.

"Oh, God. Please help me. I messed up. How can I get my love back?" prayed Trevor.

That was a month ago. She wouldn't talk to him. Trevor didn't want to go back to John this time. He agreed that John's ideas were making things worse in her relationship with Cathy.

District Attorney's Office

The deposition was over and now the preparations for the trial began. Everyone in the DA's office knew that Frank would never take the offer of life in prison. Cathy was working the hardest on the research for the case. Everyone in the office thought she was determined for justice. But the real reason was her personal life. She wanted to avoid Trevor as much as possible.

Only person who worked alongside her since the beginning was Liam Sanders. He was hired as a paralegal intern couple of years ago. Now at 26, he had a full-time position. He was a handsome hunk who was well liked by everyone in the office. His charm and mildly flirting attitude towards all women regardless of their age was the trait everyone knew. It was considered as a harmless flirting.

At 6'2", he had a perfect lean muscular body. His deep blue eyes and black hair worked wonders on women. A perfect jawline was a gift. He would always dress to impress at work.

No one in DA's office dared to flirt with Cathy. First, her father was a well-known person, and no one wants to be on his bad side. Second, she was married. But for Liam, it didn't matter.

This brought a smile on her face, and she shook her head. "You are an idiot," she said light-heartedly.

Her personal troubles at home and the emotional turmoil began effecting her work as well. Concentrating in work became much more difficult. Plus having a gorgeous hunk constantly praising her beauty and intelligence with a hint of flirt in it didn't help her either.

Liam became her closest friend now as she was spending most of her time with him. He wouldn't judge her and always brought a smile to her face. Liam would make her forget all her emotional void. After years, she felt this happy being around someone. Trevor would make her feel like this when they were at Harvard. What changed? He met her controlling father.

They were both working on the case for hours. Her brain stopped functioning now. It was midnight now. They were the only two people in the entire office.

Cathy stood up and began doing some stretches. Liam admired her body and flexibility. "Wow. If I'm being honest, I haven't seen this kind of flexibility in any porn, Cathy. Your husband must be one lucky bastard. You can show a guy best time of his life."
