My name is Brody and I am 22 years old. Currently I'm in university studying archaeology and I'm one of the best in my class. Due to my hobbies and study am I not really the popular guy in university. I'm one of the shy nerds in class, minding my own business and doing what I do best, study archaeology. My passion for archaeology came from the Indiana Jones movies, which I've seen so many times that I can participate in the dialogue. I loved the adventure and the mysteries that are hidden in our ancient world. I especially have a love for Greek mythology.
During my studies I learned about the ancient tale of the Goddess Aphrodite, daughter of the great Gods Zeus and Dione. In Greek mythology, Aphrodite is the Goddess of love, sex and fertility. She was often joined by her helper Eros, whose arrows held the power of love and attraction. Aphrodite married the blacksmith of all Gods, Hephaistos, and as the tale goes did he make a special ring for Aphrodite which held immense powers. The ring was able to form and attach to his 'master' and gave his 'master' immense powers. Every mortal could be controlled by the wearer of the ring. Their lust, their willpower, and everything you could imagine would be controlled by the one who wears the ring. They say the ring can be fount in the ruins of Ourania in Greece. Ever since I read about this story, I was intrigued by it. I was certain I would go on my first adventure and see if I could achieve this ring, so I went to the headmaster of my university and arranged my first ever archaeologic research.
I'm walking down the hall of my university as I'm talking to my friend, Wayne. I'm telling him about the tale and my ongoing research. Wayne was willing to help me with my research and for the next two months we were reading everything we could find about the ring of Aphrodite. After two solid months of studying and researching, we flied to Greece to find the ancient ring of Aphrodite. In Greece me and Wayne rent a car and we immediately drive to Ourania. After we checked in in Ourania we talked to a lot of people from the village about the Temple of Aphrodite and the ancient ruins of Ourania. I talk to a gorgeous looking girl named Sophia. She was 23 years old and approximately 5 foot tall. She was a gorgeous looking brunette. I asked her about the Temple of Aphrodite and the ruins of Ourania. Sophia offered to show me and Wayne around in Ourania and take us to the Temple of Aphrodite. She tells us that she can't take us to the ruins of Ourania, because it was really dangerous. When I asked Sophia about the dangers that lay within the ruins, she said that she was warned from a young age not to go there, but no one told her exactly why.
The first day Sophia showed me and Wayne around town and the second day we spent all day in the ancient Temple of Aphrodite. We were taking everything in and watched every detail. We deciphered all the ancient scribing's and we found out that after the fall of Aphrodite at the end of the Trojan war, Hephaistos found out about all the relationships and affairs of Aphrodite. He then took the ring from her and buried it in the ancient ruins of Ourania and laid traps to prevent her from getting the ring. After Aphrodite found out about the theft of her ring, she immediately told her father Zeus who killed Hephaistos by lightning. His spirit haunts the ancient ruins. We decide to wait until tomorrow and get to the ruins first thing in the morning.
The next morning we wake up at 5.00 am and we meet with Sophia. She brings us to the ruins and she waits for us right outside. We sneak in. Right at the entrance we walk into our first trap. The door closes right behind us and it is too dark to see anything. I take out my flashlight and I immediately notice were trapped. We look at the inscriptions but we didn't notice anything. Wayne starts to panic a little bit and I try to keep him calm. Right after I try to get him to sit down I notice a stone that is slightly out of place. I push on the stone and a wall opens. Wayne shoots up and runs towards the opening. I just get to grab him before he falls into a pit full of Ohia snakes, better known as horned vipers: the most dangerous snakes in Greece. The pit seems only 4 foot wide, and I tell Wayne to wait here for me, so I can make the jump. I tell Wayne to wait right by the entrance and try to find a way to open the way out of the ruins, whilst I explore further into the ruins. In the next room I see a big pond. I see a big stone and try to find a way to the other side without triggering any other traps. I sit down on the stone and torches fly on. There is a mist over the pond and a voice that speaks directly to me.
"Who are you? Why are you here?"
"My name is Brody, I am an archaeology student and I'm doing research on the ring of Aphrodite. The Temple of Aphrodite states that the ring might be here. May I ask you whom I am speaking to?"
"Yes, my name is Hephaistos former husband of Aphrodite and the smith who made the ring. Why are you here for the ring? It belongs to me. Did Aphrodite send you?"
"No Hephaistos, Aphrodite did not send me. Didn't she fall during the Trojan war? I'm only here to study the ring for its Archaeological value."
"No Aphrodite did not Fall during the Trojan war. She took a human like figure and she should be a stunningly beautiful brunette. She is still after the ring and she would do anything to get it. Due to her appearance she is weak and not able to get in here, that is why she uses her beauty and charms to get boys like you to get the ring for her."
"I'm not with her and I'm not send by her. I'm here for a research project by my university. Do you know the new appearance of Aphrodite, maybe there is a way that we can help eachother?"
"I have heard that she is a gorgeous looking brunette. She looks like she is 23 years old and somewhere around 5 foot tall. Some say she goes by the name Sophia."
The moment I heard the name Sophia my heart dropped. The gorgeous looking girl that offered me to help me with my quest, was secretly this Goddess that was only helping me to get her ring back. I decided to come clear and be brutally honest with Hephaistos.
"Hephaistos what is it that you want, so you can find peace?"
"I want Aphrodite back. I want to talk to her and be with her. I know it might sound bad but that's what I've always wanted, no matter the cost. I've upgraded the ring for her so she might come back, but I'm afraid she might use it against me, so she can further torment me."
"Hephaistos what is the current power of the ring?"
"The wearer of the ring will fully control everyone. It will even permanently bent the will of immortals."
"Hephaistos, I think I can help you. I know where Aphrodite is and I have a plan. You will give me the ring. I will return and this will be a forever kept secret. The research project didn't lead to anything. I will find Aphrodite and bring her to you, make her fall in love with you due to the power of the ring. And with this power, I will go to the temple of Zeus and talk to Hades to grant you a second chance. After this I will keep the ring and no one will ever know about the existence of the ring."
