Twisted Taco Games: Gamer Mom Orientation
In the early hours of the morning, an auburn-haired woman was clacking away at her computer. The room covered in gamer tchotchkes as well as photos of her family and friends. Sitting on the corner of a nearby shelf, was a small dusty 8-bit trophy that said "Upcoming Developer Award." It was a memento from her college days. This home office belonged to Lizzy Temple. She was the chief editor, reporter, and owner of Gamer Moms Monthly.
The last few months had been rough. With the pandemic almost completely shutting down their industry, there was almost no good content to be had. Luckily for Lizzy, a break came a few weeks ago. Lizzy and her two cohorts, Phoebe and Melina, were invited to visit Twisted Taco Games, an indie adult videogame company. This ended up being the shot in the arm GMM desperately needed. The few hours of interviews with the staff and owners had given them the juice to make some original and provocative articles. Combined with a little research they were able to write about women empowering themselves in the indie gaming industry, as well as produce many other interesting articles. For instance, exploring ones sexual fantasies in a safe manner through videogames. The strange laws and unwritten rules of the adult game industry. As well as the interesting new developments with VR technology for adult games.
After publishing her article on the blog, Lizzy cracked her neck and smiled. Looking down at the TTG business card on her desk that Michael, one of the TTG owners, had given her, she was still mulling over the offer they had given about joining the team. She knew she had to make a decision soon or the opportunity would blow by. Though it would have to wait until this afternoon. First she had to make breakfast and take her daughter to school, do some grocery shopping, followed by her weekly meeting with the girls.
By early afternoon, it was time to check in on Phoebe and Melina. Once the video chat connected, Lizzy was a bit surprised at what she saw. The once conservative Phoebe, who always dressed in oversized hoodies hiding her body, was now wearing very revealing athletic clothes. A pink workout top with a game controller silk printed on the front with a matching pair of pink and black gym shorts. Her cute belly button was on display. She also had on her normal black-rimmed glasses and a pair of pink kitty cat headphones. Lizzy swore she could make out the outline of her small nipples and camel toe.
Melina on the other screen was dressed in an odd grey turtleneck sweater. The sweater showed off a lot of side boob when she turned slightly. Under the sweater, she wore a white almost see through blouse covering her arms and shoulders. The sweater design was a Japanese brand known as Virgin Killer, but Lizzy was oblivious to this. Her dirty blonde hair was tied back, showing off her beautiful and exotic facial features.
Though Lizzy thought her friends were wearing some pretty bold clothing, she could not say much herself. She was wearing a deep v-cut T-shirt, which showed off a decent amount of cleavage. She had custom made it out of one of her quite extensive gamer apparel collection, as well as a form fitting pair of leggings that hugged her motherly curves.
After discussing a few ideas and the progress of a few articles for the site, Phoebe and Melina had some important news to tell Lizzy. They had both accepted jobs at TTG and were planning on co-renting an apartment in San Fernando.
Lizzy shocked said, "So are you both quitting GMM?!"
Melina replied in a calm tone, "No we still want to write for the site. It's just ... We need to go on a bit of a hiatus. Both of us put a lot of time in here and will still finish our assignments as promised. Right now, this seems like the right move. We both need the money since our day jobs have gotten a bit dire as of late."
Melina worked at a mid-sized white-collar office job. She spent most days writing up and reviewing reports, which as a result, made her a great writer for her side job at GMM, flexing her creative side. Though her office had been told by corporate to start working remotely, the transition did not go very well. For over two months, her workload was slowly starting to dry up due to a decrease in demand. This lead Melina and many of her coworkers to fear being furloughed or simply let go.
Phoebe, like Lizzy, had a degree in game development and worked in the videogame industry. Unfortunately, like many game developers, she was constantly jumping from gig to gig, never getting the break and benefits of being a fulltime employee. Since the pandemic, Phoebe had been out of work for weeks. Being both unemployed and ineligible for unemployment due to her worker status had been a major financial blow. Things were starting to get rough for her.
Phoebe cut in her usual blunt manner said, "Not all of us have a husband that has a stable, pandemic proof job. Besides, isn't this what we always talked about? Working with mostly women in the industry? Doing something that makes you feel part of a team and not an overworked, unappreciated, disposable temp. You got an offer too, why have you not called?"
Lizzy was trying to process a lot just then. For as much self-loathing as she did over the years, lamenting about not achieving many of her life goals, Lizzy and her daughter never had to worry about bills or other expenses thanks to Adam. He may be a mediocre spouse, but he never financially held it over her head. In part, she just became numb to other peoples problems. For the first time in a long time, Lizzy was going to take opportunity by the horns and make a meaningful move.
After a moment's pause Lizzy replied, "You're right. I should do this. I am going to call Michael back after this."
