Midnight was approaching in the city, the Grand Gala had just finished and Mayor Finley was feeling extremely content with the outcome of the night. Thunderstrike's surprise endorsement would do wonder for maintaining high his public image and would also bring many new investors in his campaign, meaning that he'd get to keep his job for another 4 years.
Mayor Finley was a tall man with salt and pepper hair approaching 55 years old, he had been the mayor for the past 2 mandates and had grown to be a very influential figure in the high circles of the city. It was said that he had accumulated a small fortune while in office and was well known for his strict policies. What he was known best for in the city for was bringing down crime without ever endorsing superheroes, even to fight against superpowered villains. At the beginning this policy had been well received by the citizens, but with the growing popularity of the 2 best heroes Thunderstrike and Tempest his popularity had dropped and his image was suffering with the election just around the corner.
That was why Thunderstrike's surprise endorsement at tonight's Gala had been a game changer, he was not expecting it, but he came in and supported him all night making his popularity skyrocket at the venue.
The mayor had finally arrived at his house, it was an independent house at the edge of the city, they had made it a priority to make it as anonymous as possible since superpowered villains were on the rise. The house was also surveilled with cameras and security on the property was heavy so to fend off any potential attacks, and so far it had worked.
Mayor Finley left the car and entered his house still ecstatic for how the night went, he waved to the guards who accompanied him to his door and finally got into the house. He went straight for his study room where he poured himself a glass of bourbon to celebrate and then headed to his room to change and go to bed. Tomorrow he would still have a lot of work to do, the campaign was not over by any mean even though tonight was a big boost for him.
Outside the mayor's house in the shade of the nearby woods two figures were looking at the house.
"You did good tonight Thunderstrike, with the mayor under my control I will have the influence I need to take over the city". Said Ms Sapphire looking at the house with her intense blue eyes with a look of anticipation.

Thunderstrike wavered, that sentence made him feel somewhat uncomfortable, there was something that wasn't right with what she said, but then Ms Sapphire undid part of the straps of her costume revealing more cleavage. It was the mayor's study room and as she was going through the documents on his desk the mayor himself walked into the room.
"Who are you? What are you doing in here?". Said the mayor alarmed to see an intruder going through his documents.
"Oh good evening mayor, I was really looking forward to meet you". Ms Sapphire answered as she turned to face him.
Despite the fact that she was in his house and going through his sensitive documents the mayor could not ignore that the girl standing in front of him was stunning, she was looking at him with her piercing blue eyes and her full lips curled into a smile made her face incredibly attractive, her body was also athletic and slender with big perky breasts only covered and held up by the laces of her costume.
"Who the hell are you and how did you get in here?". He said.

The mayor was confused and scared, this was the first time someone had actually managed to break into his house and she had gone through his files, so he tried to scare her off.
"You have just made a big mistake coming here, I just sent an emergency signal, police will be here any minute and you'll be in big trouble".
It wasn't even a bluff he did had a distress signal in his pocket, he pulled it out and pressed the button, but nothing happened.
The mayor looked at the device panicked.
"What?" He said holding the device up.
Ms Sapphire laughed.
"Looks like that doesn't work, maybe now you will listen to my proposition".
Mayor Finley, caught off guard by the device not working, decided to try and buy some time for himself, maybe she would even spill who she was working with.
"Very well, let us hear this proposition of yours".
Ms Sapphire smiled.
"I need your cooperation for taking over this city, your influence as mayor and your connections with the higher ups will be very valuable to me. You see I want this city to be my personal base for eventually something even bigger" she said still looking at him intently with her blue eyes.
