Ty drove home from Kera's apartment feeling depressed. Although he wasn't quite sure why. Just a few months ago he couldn't get laid to save his life. Now he had the ability to basically do it whenever he wanted. And prior to Kera, he'd been doing that very thing without thinking twice about it.
There was something about this girl that was different. But, what? Sure, she was pretty and they got along, but she wasn't the hottest he'd been with or the most talented in bed. It seemed to bother him knowing that she did what she did simply because of his new powers.
He drove down mostly empty streets. It was after midnight on a Monday. He just wanted to get home and go to bed. Then he saw the flashing lights behind him.
"Fucking great," Ty said out loud while pulling his Jeep Cherokee over to the side of the road.
A minute later he heard a TAP TAP on his window and rolled it down.
"Evening," the officer said. Ty looked up for the first time and realized the officer was a woman. And to his surprise she didn't look half bad. No one looks amazing in a standard cop outfit, but he could tell that underneath it all she had a decent body. She was Hispanic with lighter skin and brown eyes.
"Evening, officer," Ty said.
"Did you see that stop sign back half a block?" she said. "You drove right past it."
"I did?" he said genuinely shocked that he'd missed it. "Sorry about that. I must have not seen it."
The cop shined her flashlight in Ty's face and studied his red eyes. She sniffed the air.
"You been smoking anything tonight, sir?" she said.
Ty's heart sank in his chest. He didn't realize he was still high. A ticket for running a stop sign sucks, but this could become a DUI situation. He began to panic and blurted out a terrible lie.
"No, ma'am," he said. "I have never touched the stuff."
Officer Hernandez had been on the force for nearly eight years. She knew what a stoner looked and smelled like, but the moment he said 'no' she realized that what she thought were tell tale signs of marijuana must be incorrect. Her face changed and Ty noticed.
"Oh," she said. "Sorry about that. For some reason I thought..." She felt confused about the situation unsure what had changed. "Never mind. Anyway, about the stop sign. I need to see your driver's license and registration."
The gears in Ty's hazy brain began to turn and he realized that he'd just convinced a cop she was wrong with nothing more than a hastily put together lie that anyone, let alone a cop, should have rolled their eyes at. Then it donned on him that he could control her just like he had every other woman. It didn't matter if she was a cop or not. He was in control.
"You don't want my license and registration," Ty said smiling. "You just wanna talk to me for a minute."
"You're right," she said. "No need for your license or anything. It's just a stop sign."
"Are you alone tonight or do you have a partner in your squad car back there?" he said.
"I'm a traffic cop," she said. "No partner."
"Did you put my license plate into a computer or anything?"
"Yes."
"So, there's a record of you pulling me over?" he said.
"Not exactly," she said. "I just looked it up. I haven't radioed anything in yet. Typically that happens after I get your information."
"Officer..." he looked at her name badge, "Hernandez. What's your first name?"
"Sylvia."
"Sylvia, you look so horny," Ty said. "In fact, you feel hornier than you've ever felt in your life."
Suddenly, Sylvia Hernandez' breath became shaky as her body quivered. There was an ache in her loins like she'd never experienced before. Even though she felt this, she still tried to maintain her professionalism, but it was failing fast.
"Umm..." she said between breaths. "I'll just let you off with a warning this time. I have to go." She started to walk back to her car when Ty cut her off.
"Stay here," he said. "You like talking to me."
"You're right," she said standing next to his window. Ty noticed the wedding ring on her finger.
"You're married?" Ty said.
"Yes," she said. "Four years."
"Ever cheated on your husband?"
