Thank you for joining me today. During this induction, I'll be asking you questions, and I want you to respond with a yes or no. There will be phrases for you to repeat as well. You trust me, you know I will never harm you. If at any time you feel uncomfortable, you will come out of your trance and stop reading.
Here are the ribbons. There are ten of them. What am I going to do with them? I'm going to hypnotize you with them. How, you ask? I'm going to tie them on your body in different places. And where I tie a ribbon on your body, the ribbon will hypnotize that part of you. Don't worry, I won't tie them tight. And I'm not going to truss you up, either, or tie you to the bed; they're not for that. Another time, maybe, but not tonight. They're for hypnosis. And you want the ribbons to hypnotize you, don't you? Think of them like the strings of a puppet, or a doll. Normally, your mind directs and controls your body, but when you feel a ribbon tied around you, your mind will relax, and let the ribbon guide that part of you. So when I tie a ribbon to your body, I'm also tying it around your mind. And since I'm the one tying the ribbons, I'll be the one guiding your hypnosis.
First, sit up in your chair. Get comfortable. Relax, breathe deep. Keep your eyes open if you want, or use your imagination and follow along. You know what hypnosis is, don't you? It's a deep state of trance, where everything is warm, happy, and peaceful. You've felt it before; you've been there before, haven't you? It's that moment just before you fall asleep, and you enter a place where your mind can simply drift, float away on an endless sea of contentment. Breathe deep, and sink down towards that resting, happy place. That's what you want, isn't it? To be hypnotized, to enter that space, that feeling of trance, to wrap it around you like a blanket, let it cradle your body, cocoon you, let it soak into your skin, your muscles, your mind. You want to be hypnotized; let it soothe away all the aches and pains, your troubles, your worries, your cares. Carry you away, entwined in layers of silk...
That's what the ribbons are made of, the finest, softest silk. Go ahead, feel the ribbons with your fingers, barely a whisper on your fingertips. With every ribbon I tie on you, you will relax more, your trance will deepen. There's a phrase I want you to remember, "Breathe deep, sink deeper." Go ahead, say it. When I snap my fingers, I want you to hear that phrase in your mind: "Breathe deep, sink deeper." Let's give it a try. *SNAP* And when you hear it, you will take a deep, relaxing breath, and sink twice as deep into your trance as before. Let's try it again. *SNAP* Breathe deep, sink deeper. You're doing so well. You're already sinking, aren't you? You are feeling very relaxed. That's good. *SNAP* Again. *SNAP*
I have ten ribbons in my hands. Four of the ribbons are light blue, the color of the sky. Four of the ribbons are purple, the color of lavender flowers. The longest ribbon is pink, a very light rose. And one ribbon is special, that one is golden. We'll save that one for last; the gold ribbon comes at the end.
There are ten ribbons left. With every ribbon I tie, you will go deeper.
Are you ready? Then hold out your left hand, I'll start there. First comes a blue ribbon. I'm tying it around your wrist. You can feel it, can't you? The gentle touch of the fabric, wrapped lightly over your skin? I'll use a simple bow to tie it. It's not tight at all, just enough to keep the ribbon from falling off your wrist. There, all done. The ribbon is on you now, you know that means you can go deeper. *SNAP*
Hmmm, your hand is still outstretched. You were waiting for me to tell you to put it down, weren't you? But you didn't because the ribbon is holding it up. That means your hand is hypnotized; it's bound to me now. There's a ribbon around your wrist, and around your mind.
Say it: "my left hand belongs to you."
I'll let the ribbon relax, so you can put your hand down now, at your side. The ribbon guides your hand, and I control the ribbons. Your hand obeys my directions now. You're not worried, I can tell; you trust me. That's good. Because you trust me, you know you can relax even further. You can go deeper, twice as deep as before. Relax and trust. *SNAP* Breathe deep, sink deeper.
I need to test your ribbon, test the hypnosis. I'm pulling the ribbon on your left wrist, lifting your hand up in front of you to chest height. You felt it, didn't you? The ribbon lifted your hand, raised it up, like the string of a puppet, a doll. That's what you're becoming. That's what you want to be: a doll, guided by the ribbons I'm tying to your body. *SNAP* Breathe deep, sink deeper. The deeper you go into trance, the more you become a doll, and the closer you get to that peaceful place, my ribbon girl.
Say it: "I'm your ribbon girl."
*SNAP*
There are nine ribbons left. With every ribbon I tie, you will go deeper.
Your hand belongs to me, ribbon girl, but why did your whole arm move when I pulled your ribbon? Because it wants to be hypnotized too. It wants a ribbon, just like your hand. Ribbon girl, put your arm out straight for me and hold it there. I'll tie another blue ribbon there, just above your elbow. You feel me wrapping it around your elbow, right? Another ribbon, tied to your arm. Around your arm, around your mind. Your whole left arm is mine now, it belongs to me, ribbon girl.
Say it: "my left arm belongs to you."
The ribbons holding up your hand and arm are dropping, letting your hand fall to your side. You're doing a very good job of listening to me, trusting me, let me move your ribbons for you.
*SNAP* Breath deep, sink deeper.
There are eight ribbons left. With every ribbon I tie, you will go deeper.
Hmm, a good ribbon girl must have matching strings on both arms, so stretch out your right hand and hold it there. I'm going to tie a blue ribbon around your right wrist. Another ribbon, around your wrist, around your mind. Your right hand belongs to me, my ribbon girl.
Say it: "My right hand belongs to you."
*SNAP* Breathe deep, sink deeper.
There are seven ribbons left. With every ribbon I tie, you will go deeper.
Your right arm is still out, waiting for its ribbon like a good doll. There's one more blue ribbon left, so I'll tie it around your arm, above the elbow. Another ribbon, around your arm, around your mind. Your right arm belongs to me, my ribbon girl.
