Chapter 7
Kyle groggily headed for the back door of the store to let himself in. It was time to get inside and start the morning preparations to get the store opened. He was not looking forward to working the opening shift and even more so since the previous night's activities had left him fairly worn out but in a very good way. The chilly wind seemed to follow him the entire way across the back parking lot and he was really looking forward to the warmer interior of the building by the time he made it to the dented metal door. Kyle slid his key into the lock and opened the back door with a rusty creak just as he heard a voice calling from behind him.
"Hey Kyle wait up!"
Kyle looked back over his shoulder to see a tall thin girl trotting towards the door. "Hey, Trina," Kyle said with as much enthusiasm as he could muster. "I didn't know you were working this morning."
"Yeah I asked if I could pick up a few more hours last week and Kim had said sure and to come in for opening today. She did tell you right?" Trina said in her ever cheerful voice.
"Ah. Apparently she forgot to mention it. Its ok. Just give me a minute to get the alarm set and you can come in. I know there is at least some of those woolen socks that need restocked." Kyle finished opening the door and stepped inside the dim store and shut off the alarm. His eyes widened as he saw the pile of sheets and blanket from the display bed laying tucked off to the side. Kim apparently had set them aside and forgot to take them with her last night after they finished up their play time. Somehow Kyle had walked right by them as well on his way out. He pushed them further back behind the box that partially obscured their presence already.
Trina stepped into the store and sniffed the air. "Hey, do you smell something weird in here?"
Kyle slid his arm behind the lanky girl and ushered her towards the showroom and away from the aromatic bundle as quickly as he could. "I think something got spilled back here. Let's start on the showroom until I have a chance to check it out. There are some things that probably need at least dusted out here."
Kyle made it through the doors from the back room and glanced over the counter to see the stripped down bed across the showroom. He had intended on remaking it this morning since he had to be in here anyway. "Hey Trina tell you what. I am just going to go grab a new bedding set and you can start there," he said pointing to the bed tucked behind the electronics display wall. "We were planning on changing it to give it a fall look and hadn't been able to finish it last night," Kyle said trying to salvage the ever deteriorating situation.
"Umm sure," Trina said looking a bit confused at being rushed from the back room. She was still fairly new to the store so hadn't really gotten a solid feel for everyone's personalities and just wanted to make the best of it. "I'll get right on that."
Kyle sprinted back into the back room and grabbed some folded blankets and sheets that had been set aside for the bed and headed back for the showroom. As he rounded the counter heading for the bed he saw Trina down on her hands and knees beside the bed looking at the floor. He walked up apprehensively and dropped the bedding items on the mattress and looked down at the girl. "Is something the matter?" He asked.
"Yeah I think some kid spilled something on the carpet here," She said pointing to a whitish circular dried spot on the carpet. "It must have been like milk or something. It dried and left it crusty" Trina ran her fingers over the spot to show Kyle what she meant.
Kyle felt the blood rush to his face as he watched the naive girl rub her hand over what was obvious, to him, the dried results of his and Kim's fun last night. He had thought that they had gotten everything cleaned from their erotic romp but apparently there was a spot that had been overlooked. "Darn kids," Kyle chuckled nervously. "We'll get that cleaned up here in just a bit. Go ahead and get the bedding on first and I am going to get the drawer done so we'll be ready for open. I'll be out to help as soon as that is all done."
"Ok. I'll get this all set up," Trina said cheerfully.
Kyle headed into the back room going past the office and grabbed up the pile of soiled bedding that was still near the back door and headed outside letting the door close as quietly as possible. He darted out to his car fumbling his keys around before popping the trunk and quickly tossing the bundle in. The door screeched open just as Kyle reached for the knob and Trina stuck her head out. "Kyle?"
Kyle pulled up short and smiled at Trina, "Yeah? Did you need something?"
