You find yourself at the bottom of a staircase.
You had walked down a staircase, at the bottom of a wizard's tower, after walking down the path.
You look around, starting behind yourself.
You are standing ontop of a stone brick path, cracked sligthly.
There are bits of moss mixed in with the stone, as the corners are framed together by sections of a redwood.
Behind you, there is the staircase you walked down.
It's the same color of birch wood that the rest of the hallway is lined with.
A center wooden beam, the redwood holds up the sides.
The birch steps are rectangles, with indents on top of them.
The indent looks like some form of fox, with a blur of a circle behind it.
Possibly a very large tail? It's difficult to tell, as most of the stairs are covered in snow.
You step forward, your hand reaching for the snow.
Your fingertips touch the edge of it, tingles as the cold touch reaches your hand, and you brush off the snow.
Getting a better look, it is indeed a fox, with a set of multiple tails behind it.
This intruiges you, and you look up at the other stairs.
Looking straight up, you realize the top isn't that far away, with only snow slowly falling down the staircase.
You look back at yourself, continouing your assessment.
Looking at your hands, there are still bits of snow on them.
Your hands have bits of dirt, and are cold.
You shake them together, watching the snow drift down off of them.
You move your hands down into the pockets of your favorite coat.
Warming them up, the tingles of the snow are now gone.
Your legs are covered in a fuzzy camo patterned pair of sweatpants.
You are wearing a pair of black combat boots.
There are bits of pine needles in your hair, and splashes of what looks like water stains on your pants.
You just walked an adventure! Of course.
Your vision is still slightly foggy, as you look back up at what's infront of the staircase.
It's a long hallway.
The walls are a dark gray stone, with a golden tint to them.
They're glowing.
The hallway looks endless, all you can see is the gold light slowly grow until that's all you can see at the end.
The sides have different colored doors.
Some of them are blue, some of them are green, some of them are red.
Some have pictures, some are swirls, multiple sets of colors.
Some look similar to screens, but they are all surrounded by the outer layer of the dark black wood.
No...
You shake your head to clear the fog.
The outer layer is redwood.
You're wearing combat boots.
And you are not falling down.
You start to slowly walk down the hallway, your footsteps echoing.
You can feel a chill roll down your spine, as it grows colder. The hallway isn't very comfortable.
You miss the warm snow.
The snow that kept you warm as you walked down.
Wait... no you don't.
The snow was a trick.
Confused? So am I.
Doesn't really matter, as you keep trecking on down the hallway.
The doorways are all the same size, with different pictures.
You stop at one that has a picture of a beach, and a sunset.
You reach your hand down to the handle, and slowly open it.
The door creaks, as a rush of warm air flows over your body.
You peek your head through the door, a scent of seasalt rising.
You can see a sunset, with all the pretty purple and orange hues.
The beach looks nice. But, how could it fit underground in the hallway?
It looks just like the outside, with the sky.
Before you can think about it too much, you feel a pair of arms wrap tightly around your right leg.
You look down startled, your hand immediately moving to the dagger at your side.
You pause, looking closer as your hand grip tightens.
The child has a bright smile on their face.
White hair. Red eyes.
A pair of catlike ears on the top of their head.
Their eyes are slightly teary, as they start to blabble to you.
Their arms tigthen around your leg, as they speak.
