***Hello everyone, I'm a new writer, and this is my first story. I've decided to share this edited version because the original submission had many grammar and spelling errors. Hopefully, I've corrected them all in this revision.
Desperate to catch her cheating husband, Kelly hires her brother Jack to hypnotize her husband John. Jack agrees, hoping to manipulate the situation and hypnotise kelly into his plaything
Kelly anxiously paced the living room while Jack arranged his hypnosis equipment. Meanwhile, John sat on the couch, unaware that this was more than just a way to get him to detress like his wife had said. He noticed her nervous demeanor and asked her about it, but she only replied that she was anxious about her brother putting him under as she had never seen it herself. Jack, her brother, ran what he called a successful shrink clinic, though John knew from their conversations that it was more like a self-help center. Jack's clients sought help with breaking habits, gaining confidence, losing weight, and more. Hypnosis was Jack's main focus; he believed the mind was powerful and sometimes just needed a bit of tweaking to function better.
John, however, was skeptical. As a corporate professional, he dismissed it all as hippy nonsense. He couldn't believe that merely having someone dangle a shiny object in front of you could solve all your problems. He always said that change had to start with oneself. Yet, working long hours and dealing with job stress, Kelly had convinced him to give her brother a chance, suggesting that maybe Jack could help him feel better.
"Now John, I want you to relax and focus on the wall behind me" Jack said smoothly as he sat across john.
"What? No shiny pendant?" John joked.
"Hypnosis doesn't work like that, sorry to disappoint you,"Jack chuckled. "But if it makes you feel better, I have one in my bag I could bring out," he added with a smile.
"No, it's okay," John replied, smiling back.
Suddenly, Jack clapped his hands in front of John's face, causing John to flinch.
"Sorry about that, it's an old trick to help people focus," Jack explained. "Alright, like I said, please focus on the wall behind me."
A bit startled by the clap, John did as Jack instructed.
"Good. Now, don't worry, John. You don't have to do much. All I want you to do is focus on the wall, it doesn't matter which part, just keep your eyes on it. Now, while you do that, I want you to slowly breathe in and out in a calm manner,"
John followed Jack's instructions.
"Good, John. Have you felt it yet?" John was confused,
"Felt what?"
All he felt was himself relaxing into the couch.
"Good, John, it seems you're starting to feel relaxed. If you focus, you can feel your body floating, can't you?"
Jack said. To John's surprise, he did feel like his body was starting to float.
"Good, don't worry, John, that just means you're truly relaxed. It's no wonder your eyelids feel heavy."
As soon as Jack mentioned it, John realized his eyelids did feel heavy, and the wall behind Jack was beginning to blur. What was happening?
"Don't worry, John. It's okay. Just focus on my voice, let that little voice in the back of your head drift away. It's just us here, there's no one else,"
Jack reassured him. John's head started to sway as if he was trying to stay awake.
"Listen to my voice, John, that's the only thing left. It's okay, you can look at me now,"
John's eyes struggled to focus, only to see a pair of hands in front of his face. Before he could make sense of anything, the last thing he heard was "sleep" as the fingers in front of his face snapped.
Jack nodded, a sly smile playing at his lips. This was going even better than he'd hoped. Now that John was fully under, Jack would turn his attention to Kelly. He'd been waiting years for an opportunity like this
"Kelly, come here," Jack called softly, his eyes never leaving John's slack face.
Kelly approached cautiously, her eyes darting between her hypnotized husband and her brother. "Is he really under?" she whispered.
"Completely. Now, let's get some answers, shall we?"
He turned back to John.
