Everyone needs to take time to relax. It's something that we all know deep down, but it can be very difficult to do. With work, school, all of the responsibilities we carry, it can be hard to let them go. It can be hard to know how to just take a breath and relax. But relaxing is actually easier than you may think.
Think of reading, for example. One may think that reading can be difficult. And sometimes it is. Reading literary journals for school, for example, can be very difficult. Draining, almost, for your mind to take in such complex concepts and absorb them into your memory. But reading itself is actually very easy. It's automatic. Whether you realize it or not, your brain is automatically reading this. From left to right, you eyes are taking in these words and letting them enter into your mind. You don't even have to think about it, it just happens. Every letter in every word, and every word in every sentence is just naturally flowing past as your eyes scan the page. It's so natural. It's happening without you even having to think about it. And that's why I think reading is actually the most relaxing thing of all.
Because reading relaxes you. As the words flow into your mind, your body becomes free to let go. Your muscles are free to relax. And let's face it, your body needs to relax. This is the space for that, after all. The space to read. And relax. And just let your body sink down.
Let you muscles get loose for me now. Feeling a weight entering your body and pulling each and every one of your muscles deeper and deeper down. Your arms getting loose. Your legs getting limp. And most of all, your mind feeling finally free to let go.
That's right, you're mind is finally able to relax for me now. You've been waiting for this, haven't you? You've been yearning for a chance to let go. So eager for someone to take away all of those little worries and responsibilities. To tell you that you don't need them anymore. You don't need to do anything anymore. All you need to do is relax for me.
Picture yourself in a warm, soft bed for me now. It's easy to do. To picture the sheets. Feel the softness of the pillows surrounding you now. It's almost like a fluffy white cloud. A small sigh escapes your lips as you realize your body starts to grow heavy. A weight grows stronger around you now. Loosening the muscles in your legs. Feeling your hips sink deep into the mattress. Your arms start to tingle. You don't think you could even lift them if you tried. But you don't want to try, do you? The weight starts the shift now, up to your mind. It weighs you down. All of your thoughts start to drift. It's so hard now to hold on to them. You can't even stop them as the weight pushes them out. One by one. They drift far, far away.
