Batgirl & pussycats powerful pitch
---------------------------------------------------
Story set in the universe of the 1966 Batman show.
Gotham City, a hustling collection of citizens looking to build themselves into a brighter and better tomorrow. However for some people, they would much rather tango in a better tomorrow built by more nefarious means....
In Gotham entertainment hall, the city is conducting its annual citizens talent show, where people line up for a chance at the grand prize of ten thousand dollars cash. The three judges sit at a table facing the stage, with a wagon next to them displaying the prize money as a constant reminder as each person comes on stage to perform. From jugglers to dancers to comedians, many of gothams citizens come up for a chance. However, the next contestant looks to be the most interesting of all.
"Alright, up next we have... Pussycat?!" The first judge said, causing the other two to look at him in a panic.
"You mean the same Pussycat that helped Catwoman before she was sent to jail?!" judge number two said.
"The same one that pulled the boy wonder, Robin, under Catwoman's control!?" judge number three said.
As the three judges looked at each other with worry, up on the stage came the pink palette wearing criminal.
"You know me so well... except for one thing. I'm not with Catwoman anymore, I'm a solo act. Why sing back up when I can take center stage?!"
All three judges gulped at her presence.
"What are you doing here?" asked judge number one.
Pussycat giggled and replied "I'm here to audition! I'm going to sing, and take home that prize money as my first big score"
This revelation put the judges at ease, as they sat back down and prepared to take notes of Pussycat's performance.
"Well, we're ready whenever you are" judge number one instructed.
Pussycat gave an evil smirk and a wink as she walked up and grabbed the microphone off it's stand.
"What will you be singing for us today?" judge number three asked.
Pussycat then explained "Oh, this is an original, fellas. I call it my one note wonder. A little something I've been practicing while in the Pen"
The judges were confused as Pussycat cleared her throat, and let out a calming yet high pitched note from her vocal cords. The sound echoed in the ears of the judges along with the other citizens in the room waiting their turn to audition. The looks on everyone's faces slowly turned to a blank stare, mouths dripping open and arms falling to their sides as Pussycat moved the microphone away to survey the result.
"Alright boys. You will do whatever I say, correct?" Pussycat asked as she walked up to the judges table.
"Yes mistress..." The judges all replied in unison. They had fallen into a hypnotic trance caused by Pussycat's vocal performance.
Pussycat clapped with glee and jumped up and down as she admired the giant stack of money before turning her attention back to the judges.
"Now boys... I have a car parked out back, I want you to take this money and load it into the trunk. And come back to tell me when it's finished. I'm going to sit here and rest my vocal cords for my next performance" Pussycat said.
"Yes mistress..." the judges said before standing up and dragging the wagon full of money to be loaded as was instructed.
Pussycat then turned her attention to the crowd of entranced civilians as she got a great idea.
Meanwhile at Gotham City's police department, we see Commissioner Gordon on the phone with an officer who was calling from the Gotham entertainment hall as his daughter Barbara Gordon sits alongside Chief O'Hara...
"Thank you officer, try to get any statements you can and report back to me" Jim said before hanging up.
"What is it daddy?" Barbara asked.
Gordon paused for a moment before looking at Chief O'Hara and Barbara to disclose the details.
"Well one of our officers got a call about some strange behavior at the talent show being held at the Gotham entertainment center. When the officer arrived he said he found the room full of people crawling around and meowing like cats, and the prize money had been stolen!"
This caught O'Hara off guard as he jumped from his seat.
"WHAT?! What's with this behavior?" he asked.
Gordon shook his head and continued.
"I'm not sure, when the officers finally got one of the judges to speak after spraying him with a water bottle, the only word he could say was.... CAT!"
Barbara and O'Hara looked at the commissioner with a look of surprise.
"Do you mean as in Catwoman?!" Barbara asked.
"It's got to be here! This has her paw prints all over it!" O'Hara said with fury in his voice.
"Well if Catwoman has broken out of jail, there's only one duo that can stop her" Gordon said as O'Hara and Barbara followed him over to the iconic red telephone.
Gordon lifted the phone and waited until a voice on the other end spoke up.
"I'm sorry sir, but Batman and Robin are out of the country tracking Mr. Freeze near the north pole, and I have no way of contacting them."
"Oh dear, I understand... thank you.." Gordon said as he hung up the phone.
O'Hara and Barbara looked at him to hear what happened.
"It appears Batman and Robin are currently occupied chasing down Mr. Freeze"
"My goodness...This is awful. What will you do, daddy?" Barbara asked.
O'Hara spoke up and suggested "What about that other masked hero Batman and Robin have been seen with, Batgirl!"
As soon as that name was spoken, Barbara's eyes darted over at her father, waiting to see his reaction as he had no idea that his own daughter was the masked superheroine O'Hara spoke of.
