Author's Note

This is a remake of Adam's Will. You don't have to have read that one to read this as it is starting fresh.

I really liked the idea but I think my execution was poor. It will start off fairly similar and have other similarities but as the story goes on you will see how it differs.

I have decided to add no gay scenes in this chapter so you are aware, also there will be some 4th wall breaking as I've had a lot of fun writing these characters.

Meeting Gabe

Adam sat at a table in a busy bar, nervously playing with his hands in his lap as he waited for his date to get back from the bathroom.

It was some girl he had met on a dating app. Ever since turning 18 a few months ago his dating life was non-existent. However, he somehow managed to stir up a conversation with this girl online and she agreed to go out for drinks with him.

He wore his black jeans and a black shirt. Adam knew he wasn't the most muscular man so he wore slightly baggy clothes to hide his skinny limbs. His short, black hair was combed to one side and he had a freshly shaven face, although he couldn't grow a beard anyway.

Adam's eyes lit up when she sat back down opposite him, Sarah. A beautiful, 18 year old blonde woman. She had piercing blue eyes, and a slim frame but she was a tight, black dress that showed she had a curvy, firm arse.

"Hey, sorry about that." She said to him and put her phone into a purse.

I wonder if she was talking to her mates, probably telling them I'm a shit date,

Adam thought, his anxiety getting the better of him like always.

"It's no problem, our drinks came." Adam said over eagerly.

Sarah had some pink cocktail and Adam ordered a gin and lemonade.

Sipping on it, he failed to come up with something to talk about.

Minutes went by in pure silence, each second Adam wracked his brain for something to say.

Come on, talk about something!

He thought as he occasionally made awkward eye contact.

"Do you like films?" Adam blurted out and immediately sighed at his own stupidity.

"Erm, not really," Sarah said and put her glass down on the table between them, "I more like reality TV."

Well, that's one thing we definitely do not have in common,

Adam thought.

Sarah crossed her legs and Adam could tell by her body language and the way she spoke that she wasn't interested.

Once again, the pair sat in silence, awkwardly sipping on their drinks due to not having anything to talk about.

Half an hour, half an hour of painful, awkward silence. Adam didn't think he could take anymore.

There he was, sat on a date with a beautiful girl who was way out of his league and he knew he had blown it.

I'm such a loser, why did I even try asking her out?

He thought.

Sarah placed her empty glass down and uncrossed her legs.

"I think I should be getting back, I erm, have to get up early tomorrow." She said, Adam fixed on her red lipstick.

"Right, yeah, good idea," Adam replied although he knew she was lying.

He brought his stare away from her lips and met her eyes. Her beautiful, shining green eyes. They were wide and the whites almost glowed, not an imperfection in sight.

As he looked into her eyes though, he felt something change. Her annoyed look slowly disappeared and she turned to a straight face, her eyes actually closing slightly as she stared back at him.

Adam then felt something from within, a feeling he had known a few times but one he couldn't explain. It was like a pilot light had been lit within his stomach, a small, little flame that begged to grow into a roaring fire.

"Do you..." Adam stuttered, unable to look away from her eyes, "Do you want me to get you a taxi?"

As he said that it felt as though his own eyeballs heated up, it was like he was locked in this stare with Sarah. The burning inside of him grew ever so slightly.

"I want," Sarah whispered but her voice sounded sure, "I want you to come back to my place."

What?

Adam couldn't believe what he just heard come from her mouth. The fire inside his stomach grew again, it was like his body was heating up from the inside and he felt his breath turn heavier.

"Are you sure?" He asked, strangely though, that burning feeling if anything felt like it died down with his question.

Sarah leant forward, still staring into his eyes.

"Yes," She said firmly, "I want you to come back to mine."

Oh my god, is this actually happening?

Adam felt his hands start to sweat and tremble at the thought of going back to her house.

He stared at her, dying to say yes, but then his self-conscious took over.

I can't go back to her house, a girl like that, how disappointed would she be spending a night with me?

"You," Adam stuttered, "You've been drinking, maybe we should meet up another time?"

His voice was breaking with every word and as soon as he finished speaking it was like a hose of water was unleashed on the burning inside of his stomach.

In his own embarrassment, Adam closed his eyes and leaned back, giving off a loud sigh.

"Oh right, yeah, sure," Sarah said and stood up, her voice returning to normal, "See you around."

"Bye." Adam muttered, he kept his eyes closed out of shame, not able to look at her.

Great one, hot girl asks me to come back to hers and I say no, real smooth.

Adam opened his eyes and saw he had a mouthful of his drink left, deciding to finish it off before leaving he grabbed the glass and gulped it down.

As he finished though and lowered the glass from his mouth he looked and saw an older man staring at him.

Is he looking at me?

Adam thought, he turned his head and no one was being him.

Looking back, the man's stare hadn't moved, he was definitely looking at Adam.

Adam forced himself to look away and sighed at his empty glass.

I need another drink before I go home and wallow in self pity all night.

So, he headed to the bar that was already very busy.

Adam got pushed around, ignored and cut in front of. Even when he reached the bar it took 15 minutes for one of the girls behind to pay him any attention and get him a drink.

Then, when he got back to his table the man that had been looking at him was sat on his chair, on top of his coat.

"E-excuse me," Adam stuttered out, "You're on my coat."

The man turned and looked at Adam.

He had smart, short black hair, and a trimmed face that showed off his chiselled jawline. He was also wearing a black shirt and black trousers, similar to Adam's but clearly much, much more expensive. His clothes also fit him better, this man was obviously very toned as his shirt hugged him perfectly.

Finally, Adam noticed his eyes. Green eyes, similar to Adam's but this mans seemed to glow, almost like they were shining a light.

"Did I take your seat?" He asked in a deep but soothing tone.

Adam thought he must've been late 30s, or early 40s at the most.

"Its... It's okay, I can just stand." Adam replied back pathetically.

The strange man let out a sigh and then sat back, still on top of Adam's coat.

"Sit down kid." He said firmly.

What?

Adam thought,

should I just sit down?

His awkwardness getting the better of him, Adam sat down opposite this man where Sarah had previously sat.

"You've just spent over half an hour lining up at the bar to get one drink, you come back and see me sat on your seat on your coat and when you ask me to stand up I practically ignore you," He said in his angelic voice, "none of that annoys you?"

"I mean," Adam whispered, looking at the ground, "it's no one's fault, the bar staff are busy and you didn't know it was my seat."

"It had your coat on," the man sighed again, "you think I didn't see or feel it when I sat down?"

"I guess?" Adam replied, really confused by this strange man.

"And before that, you had that beautiful blonde practically throw herself at you and you turned it down." He said, it wasn't in a condescending way, more curious.

"Have you been watching me?" Adam asked.

"And what if I have?" He asked quickly, "Would you do anything about it?"

No,

Adam thought,

I wouldn't.

The man crossed his legs and one of his expensive, black, leather shoes came on show.

"Listen, kid," he said, "you are in need of some drastic help and let's just say, I need a project."

Adam finally looked up a the man at his strange words.

"I don't understand." Adam replied.

"I've seen you," He continued and sipped on what looked like whiskey, "You can do things, you may not know it yet, but I can show you. You can be confident and get any person you want, but so far you have lived your life in a shell, too scared to do anything about it. But with me, well, I can show you the world."

Adam couldn't help but give out a little chuckle, thinking that this man accidentally quoted Aladin to him.

"What do you mean?" Adam asked, "I can do things?"

The man then uncrossed his legs and sat forward, resting his elbows on his thighs.

"Do you ever feel, hmm, how to describe it, it's been so long since I've talked about this with someone," He continued, "A sort of burning feeling, deep within you, waiting to burst into flames and unleash itself."

What a strange man.

"No." Adam whispered back.

"Do you find people tell you things, admit things to you as if out of nowhere?" He asked, seemingly ignoring Adam's answer.

"N-no." Adam stuttered again.

How does he know all this?

Adam thought, what he described was exactly what Adam had felt before.

"Look at me, kid." The man said.

Adam slowly brought his stare to this man's beautiful, green eyes. Once he was looking, it was like he was locked in. Unable to look away.

"Did you want to fuck that blonde girl?" He asked bluntly.

"Yes." Adam instantly replied without a second thought.

"Good, and what do you want to do now?" He asked.

"Go home and wank whilst thinking about her." Adam said as though he had no filter.

What the fuck?

Adam thought, he couldn't believe what had come out of his mouth but it was like he couldn't stop it.

"Now, why would you tell a complete stranger that?" He asked.

Adam was still locked into his stare, neither blinking at any point. It was a strange feeling, one that made Adam only want to tell this man the brutal truth.

"I... I don't know." Adam said to him.

"And why did you turn down that blonde girl?" He asked.

"I was," Adam stuttered, "I was scared."

This brought a smile to the man's face, he sat back and crossed his legs again and the strange hold he had on Adam seemed to go.

"And that's what I can help with." He said grinning.

This strange, handsome man then looked past Adam and sighed. When Adam turned his head he saw a beautiful, older blonde woman at another table, but she was sat uncomfortably next to some bald meathead that looked to be harassing her.

"Come with me." The man said.

Like a lost puppy, Adam just followed him.

"Excuse me," This strange man said as they reached the other table, "You seem to be disturbing my date."

"Oh please," The mead head replied, "no way a guy like you gets a girl like this."

He then slapped his hand down hard onto the blonde girl's thigh who yelped out.

Adam got a little worried then. This meat heat was very, very muscular and Adam had no desire to be in a fight. Even if this strange guy looked pretty toned, he was still smaller than this meathead.

"Come on Daisy, let's god." The strange man said and reached out his hand.

His blonde date instantly grabbed back and stood up. But the meathead rose as well and grabbed Daisy's free wrist and dragged her back slightly.

"I ain't don't with her yet!" He shouted, slurring his words and clearly drunk.

This strange man sighed, and turned to Adam with a devilish grin.

"Some motherfuckers always want to ice skate uphill." He said.

He turned back, ever so gently resting his right hand against the meathead's chest and with a small flick of the wrist, the meathead flew backwards across the bar and along the floor.

What the hell!!

Adam couldn't believe what he had just witnessed. There were a few people calling out and rushing to the meathead who seemed dazed on the floor.

"Come with me." The stranger said and walked towards the exit whilst holding Daisy's hand.

Adam couldn't get his head around what had just happened, how had the man done that so easily?

Then, something came to Adam.

"Did you just quote Blade?" He asked, knowing he recognised that line from somewhere.

"I'm impressed." The man said and carried on walking towards the door.

"I mean, Blade, seriously?" Adam asked.

"What? It's a great movie." He replied.

"Yeah but still," Adam said and let out a little laugh, "You know you quoted it wrong."

The man stopped just as they reached the door and turned to look at Adam.

"What?" He asked.

"Yeah, the line is, some motherfuckers are always trying to ice skate uphill, you said it wrong." Adam told him with a smug smile.

The strange man smiled and walked outside into the cold night air.

"Good catch kid," he said and stopped, his eyes opened wide like he had just realised something shocking, "oh you've got to be kidding me?"

"What?" Adam asked, looking around to see if something was wrong.

"You fucker," The man said and looked straight up to the sky, "You're doing a remake? Seriously? I got to go through all this shit again?"

What on earth is this guy on about? Who's he talking to?

"Just because you fucked up the first one we have to start again? Reboots are never as good as the original." He moaned to the sky again.

Adam looked at him, even more confused now than ever.

"Not all reboots are bad," Adam told him, trying to understand what he was going on about, "X-Men First Class, that was a soft reboot and that was pretty good."

The strange man looked at Adam and slowly smiled before looking up to the sky again.

"A soft reboot," he said a little happier, "I can get along with that, you can at least put my name in the title this time!"

He waved out his hand and a taxi pulled to stop, after helping in Daisy he turned back to Adam.

"So what do you say, kid? Want my help?" He asked.

Adam couldn't explain anything that had gone on that night with this stranger, but something inside of him was telling him to go along with it.

"Sure, what have I got to lose?" Adam replied.

"Good," He said and reached into a pocket to pull out a business card, "here's my number, call me tomorrow and we will meet up."

Adam looked at the card, it was hard, jet black and only had red letters on it for his number. No name, no business, nothing.

"Wait," Adam called out as the man was getting into his taxi, "what's your name?"

"I've been called a few different names," He replied with a chuckle, "but you can call me, Gabe."

Will

The next morning Adam was lying in his bed, looking at the strange business card that Gabe gave to him.

How did he know so much about me? No one has ever known about the weird burning feeling I get inside or the fact that people admit strange things to me. I always thought it was no one saw me as a threat so they just opened up to me... but could it be something more?

Adam knew he had to find out, even if it led nowhere.

He grabbed his phone and called the number on the car.

"Hello?" Gabe's distinct voice answered quickly.

"Hi, it's Adam, we met last night?" Adam said to him.

"Ah yes," Gabe replied, "I'm glad you called." His voice sounded like he had just woken up considering it was 10am.

"Sorry, did I catch you at a bad time?" Adam asked.

"No it's fine, don't worry." Gabe said.

"So, erm, you mentioned about meeting up? I'm free today if you are?" Adam asked, not wanting to sound too eager but definitely wanting to learn more about this man.

"Yeah, sounds good to me," Gabe replied, "Let me give Daisy one last seeing to and I'll meet you at Towns Chopping Centre, say, midday?"

Oh my god! He's about to have sex again! All I did was have a wank! I definitely need to learn from this guy!

"Yeah, I'll see you then." Adam replied and put the phone down.

Adam was a little nervous to go and meet with him still, for all he knew he was a psychopath, serial killer,

I mean, he talked to the sky?

However, he weirdly had some trust in this strange guy.

So, Adam told his parents he was going out and headed to the shopping centre.

When he spotted Gabe, the older man was wearing the same clothes he wore the night before. But they seemed freshly cleaned, ironed and brand new.

"Adam, glad you decided to let me help you." He said as Adam walked over.

He reached out his hand and Adam gave him a limp handshake back.

"We'll work on that," Gabe said and Adam blushed with embarrassment, "come on, I need a drink."

A drink, this early?

Adam thought but followed him to a pub anyway.

Gabe got himself a whiskey and Adam got a diet soda.

For a minute or two they just sat there, Adam awkwardly sipping his drink as Gabe looked at him. Until he couldn't take it any more.

"How... how did you know that stuff about how I felt?" Adam asked.

Gabe smiled at that.

"I thought you said I got it wrong?" Gabe replied.

"I guess, I lied, no one has ever known those things before." Adam told him.

"That makes sense," Gabe said and rested his glass down, "it's a difficult one to explain, virtually no one knows about it fully, except for us." Gabe said mysteriously.

"Us?" Adam asked.

"Yeah, we'll get to that," Gabe replied, "let me try and explain it the best I can."

Gabe took another sip of his drink and sat back.

"So, everyone in the world has these sort of talents. Each one can do something different, you have the same as me, except a much watered down version." Gabe explained.

"Talents?" Adam asked.

"It took a while for us to settle on a name, we eventually called, Will." Gabe told him.

"Will?" Adam replied, "And who's we?"

"My brothers and sisters," Gabe explained, "They're all gone now, on their own adventures mostly. I liked it here so I just stayed."

"I am so confused." Adam replied and shook his head.

"Okay, here we go," Gabe said, he leaned forward and turned serious, "When you look into someone's eyes, something you feel this heat inside of you, a fire that wants to grow, to burn. You feel them stare at you, desperate to admit things that they would never admit to anyone."

That is exactly what I feel.

"I mean, I guess." Adam nervously replied, a bit worried about how spot-on this man was.

"Last night, you told me bluntly that you were going to go home and have a wank at the thought of the girl you just rejected," Gabe said and Adam's cheeks burnt red with embarrassment, "why is that?"

"I... I don't know." Adam replied.

"Do you make a habit of telling strangers about your wanking patterns?" Gabe asked.

"No." Adam quickly told him, even more embarrassed about it.

"Then why did you tell me?" Gabe questioned.

"I don't know, I can't explain it... it was like I had to tell you." Adam said, not understanding the words coming out of his mouth.

"Well, there you go," Gabe said and sat back again, "if you learn to use your Will, people will tell you things they have never told anyone else, sometimes even themselves."

"Why though? I don't understand." Adam said.

"Well, a long, long time ago we used our Will to help people, grow government for the better and whatnot, but recently, I mainly use mine for sex." Gabe said rather calmly.

"Wait, what?" Adam asked, the last part throwing him off.
