A picture is worth three thousand words
So.. This is a story that's hard to believe but it's crazy true and I can't believe it happened but let me explain. It all started with a trip to the city my dad was making. It's about a 2-hour drive so it's not one we make often. It was suppose to be just me and my Dad but once my friends found out they asked if they could join.
Maybe I'll start by introducing myself, I'm Alex Stevenson, I'm 18 and a fairly typical nerd. Average height, ok build, blondish hair, currently I live at home with my Dad, Joe Stevenson. My sister lives with my mom on the other side of town but she's not important to this story. My friends are Emily and Kyle, we met at school in the same grade. Kyle is my closest male friend, he's got brown hair, he's pretty skinny also, and will hit on anything that moves. Emily is a bit shorter than us but she likes to act like one of the guys. Up until recently I couldn't say much to her build as she usually wears pretty loose clothing. Emily has dark hair, light skin, and freckles. I've always kind of had a thing for her and I think she might have had a thing for both of us. Well, you'll see how it goes.
Once Emily and Kyle got wind that my Dad and I were going to the city, they insisted on coming with us. My Dad and I picked them up and started the drive on Saturday morning.
Kyle "So what do you need in the city Mr. Stevenson?"
Joe "There's a few speciality shops that have parts for cars I'm fixing up. They don't ship them so I have to get them myself."
Emily "Why were you going Alex?"
Me "I'm going to see if I can find a polaroid camera."
Kyle "Oh cool I've always wanted one of those."
Joe "I didn't even know they still made film for those but if Alex wants to spend his hard earned cash on that, well you can't put a price on memories."
Emily "I'm goanna look for an antique shop."
Kyle "I'm just going cause you guys are."
The trip there was pretty uneventful, aside from the odd car game between us. It wasn't long before we were in the heart of the city. My Dad drove us to the more touristy part with all the little shops.
Joe "Ok here you are, you should be able to find everything you're looking for around here. I'll be about an hour or two, give me a call with an address when you're done and I'll pick you up."
I nodded and off he went. The three of us found a few shops that were interesting but mostly overpriced. I guess that's what you get in the city. Kyle led us into a game store called "Dice and Mice" and we had a look around. It wasn't until I was at the back of the store that I noticed there was another store behind it. When we left, sure enough there was a sign that read "Antiques!" with an arrow pointed down the alley.
Emily looking at me "We might both be able to find something here!"
We approached the store with a generic sign "Antiques here!" Entering the shop Emily was right. Not only did they have some polaroid's but a whole section of them. Emily found a blue vintage sweater, and Kyle found a pocket knife. On the way out of the store the clerk asked me if I needed some film for the camera. I replied yes and he said "Ok that'll be 40 dollars for a pack of 10." At the time I was appalled and that's when he leaned over and looked me in the eye and noted, "This is very special film, a picture is worth a 1000 words but the pictures taken with this film is worth 3000." Kind of creped out I proceeded with the purchase if only to get out of there.
Once out of the shop I loaded the film and took a selfie of the three of us. The picture came out of the camera and looked... well like a regular polaroid. A bit pissed at the salesman we continued on and had a great day. We walked around exploring, seeing some sights and had lunch. It was a good day, until of coarse we had to get picked up. Not because we had to go home but because of what happened to Emily. We were in a fairly busy part of the city when we had to cross the street to get to the address I texted my Dad. We should have gone to the crosswalk but to save time we tried to cut across. Emily was first out on the street when out of nowhere a car hit her. Upon contact she flew back about 10 feet. Her skull cracked against the pavement.
It was pretty hard watching my friend die. And honestly, of a fairly sexy story, this is the least of it. (Don't worry just wait) We called 911, they arrested the guy, (turns out he was drunk) and after a very long day made it home. While I'd like to think that I had a hard time falling asleep after what had just happened, I was exhausted and more or less passed out.
The next morning, I woke up early, earlier than I usually do, just past 7am. My dream about the day before had woken me up and reminded me that one of my best friends was dead. That's when I pulled out the photos. First was a shot of us in front of the antiques stop. There she was, smiling and alive. The next was just a picture of a statue and after that, one of me and Kyle. The last was partly what I wanted to see and partly what haunted me. It was the last picture of Emily alive. It was a picture that Emily asked me to take of her on a bench with a bronze statue.
If only we had used the cross walk, if only she had looked longer before crossing. If I had been her I would have looked longer... I started to cry staring at the picture wishing I could have done something more... And that's when it started to happen, the polaroid started to glow. Just a little at first but then quite bright, then it quickly flashed like a camera.
I opened my eyes and looked at myself and Kyle, confused I looked around. I noticed I was on a bench next to a bronze statue, back in the city. Kyle and someone who looked just like me were standing 5 feet away having just taken my picture. I looked down and noticed I was wearing the blue vintage sweater Emily and bought. "WTF" I thought, "Am I Emily right now?" I had no idea what was going on but stood up to look at myself(?) in the store glass behind me. In came to view a semi transparent reflection of Emily. She moved as I moved, I raised my left hand and so did the reflection.
Alex "Are you ok there?"
Myself from a different time asked me a question and I had to respond. "Yep just checking out my new sweater." I didn't know it at the time but that picture had given me a second chance. A chance to be Emily and save her life.
Alex "Alright well we better make our way back to where we told my dad we'd be. Come on."
My former-self gestured towards a gap in the cars parked along side the street.
Me "Why don't we cross at a light or cross walk?"
Kyle "Sure"
I couldn't help but notice how easy that was. One simple suggestion just saved a girl's life. Sometimes we don't realize in the moment how big our decisions can be.
We walked to a light about 1 minute away, we crossed and walked back to the address. I didn't know this until later but once you travel through a photograph you become the person you focused on till the time you traveled from. It was less than a day away but at the time it filled my head with questions. "Am I just Emily forever now? What'll happen to me once it's tomorrow morning? If I become myself again will she remember this?" I thought this the whole trip home while playing the part of Emily.
It felt strange for my Dad to drop me off at Emily's house and take off with also me in the car. I went up the steps anyways and greeted her parents. We had met many times before so I knew them quite well. We had dinner and I told them I was going to my room for the night.
This is where the real fun began. I knew Emily had a better body than she showed. She always dressed in loose sweaters and baggy pants but now was my chance to see it all. I stood in front of her mirror and spoke to my refection. "I don't know if you're going to remember this at all but I think given the chance you'd do the same." I pulled off the blue sweater to reveal a white baggy t-shirt beneath. Slightly disappointed I proceeded further pulling off the t-shirt. Moving up the fabric I couldn't help but notice that her already pale skin was somehow even whiter underneath.
She wasn't fat by any measure but not supper skinny either. Shirt off revealed a nude colored bra and some nice boobs. C cup? D cup? I wasn't sure at the time but the bra wasn't staying. I reached around the back to unhook it but fumbled around for a bit. Eventually getting fed up I stretched it up over her boobs and over her head. I stared... hypnotised finally getting to see what I'd been picturing for so long. I pushed one up with my hand and let it fall. "Interesting..." I thought. Then I grabbed them with both hands and gave a squeeze. "Ohh that feels good." I said quietly. I looked down to see I was still wearing pants and let go of the boobs for a moment to take them off.
She definitely had a bush but it wasn't too long. I had read that the growing trend is to trim and not shave so I guess that's what Emily did. I sat down on the ground in front of the mirror and tilted it so I could see her pussy.
