All characters in this story are eighteen years old or older.

This is a full story based on my 750-word story,

A Good Decision

, that I posted earlier this year. I was thrilled to get such positive feedback on it and requests for a complete story. Thanks for reading. I have changed the characters' names from that story.

What a Cougar Wants

Sadie leaned back against her seat and looked across the table at her daughter, Annie. The diner was a favorite for both of them and strategically placed about halfway between Sadie's home in Gainesville and Annie's home in Tallahassee. In a little town called Jennings, where I-75 meets I-10.

Annie looked across her French dip and fries at her mother, who'd been uncharacteristically quiet that afternoon. She admired the way her mother's light brown hair had given way to a glossy pale gray in a way that many women were paying stylists to do. "Okay, Mom. Spill it. What's bothering you? Guy troubles?"

Sadie narrowed her eyes and frowned. "You know perfectly well that I haven't been out with a man since your father passed."

When her daughter smiled slyly, Sadie sighed with frustration. "So, about that? It's been what? Almost two years? When are you going to get back out there?" Sadie was about to reply when her daughter continued. "You're fifty-two. You're attractive, keep yourself in good shape and you're post-menopausal." She glanced at her mother's prodigious bosom. "Not to mention, you've got those major league yabos."

Sadie frowned and unconsciously drew her left arm across her breasts that were big enough to rest on the table, and glared at her daughter. "What does being post-menopausal got to do with anything?" she said, changing the subject from her large breasts.

Annie sniffed and looked down at her sandwich and then back at her mother. "Freedom, Mom. You can screw whomever you want, as much as you want, with no worries about getting knocked up. I'd kill for that peace of mind."

Sadie's jaw dropped, and she stared at her daughter incredulously. Annie sniffed and waved at her dismissively. "That's what I'd be doing if I was in

your

shoes. Dad would want you to be happy, Mom. Live a little. You're beautiful and, according to my boyfriend, a smoking hot MILF."

Sadie nearly choked while sipping her soda. "Derek said that about

me

?"

Annie nodded emphatically. "Yep. I asked him if he could see himself with me in thirty years and he said that he certainly could, if I aged as well as my hot MILF of a mother," she said. Annie couldn't help but notice the smile that flashed across her mother's face for a moment.

She picked up her sandwich, looked up, and decided to poke the bear a bit. "Maybe it's not an issue for you. That's fine. I know a lot of women lose their sex drive after menopause."

Sadie felt her jaw clench with irritation. "The

reason

I wanted to talk to you is that I need some financial advice."

This got Annie's complete attention, and she waited for her mother to expound. "Your father and I planned for retirement. It's a nice nest egg and I don't want to touch it. But our day-to-day finances were always based on our combined salaries. I'm having a little trouble making ends meet with just mine. I'm going to have to cut back if I don't figure something out."

Annie blinked hard. "His life insurance?"

Sadie shrugged. "Was fairly modest. Being self employed, we had only a small policy. After the medical bills were taken care of, I was able to pay off our credit cards, but that's about it."

"Well, that's good. How much are you short, monthly?" Annie asked, and her mother gave her a figure. The two women sat and ate for a few minutes and she could tell her daughter was mulling it over. After she finished the sandwich, she looked up. "It's not much, really, but I see your concern. So, you could... sell the house and get something smaller."

Sadie was shaking her head before her daughter finished her sentence. "I've got five more years until it's paid off and I can still take care of it. I couldn't bear to sell it yet. Too many memories."

Annie gave her a sly smile. "Well, maybe you could open a page on SimplyFans and get naked on the internet." She grinned as her mother's mouth dropped open. "MILFs are

really

popular right now."

Sadie frowned. "If you can't get serious, I'll ask someone else."

Her daughter shrugged with a wry smile and dipped a French fry in some catsup. "Then maybe think about renting out my old room. Gainesville is a college town and there are always students looking for a cheap place to live. Pick up a college newspaper and put in an ad for a boarder." Annie's smile got wide. "Maybe you could find a young woman with a handsome single dad."

***

Sadie got back home with a lot to think about. She'd never thought about getting a boarder and was of two minds on the subject. She enjoyed her privacy but was having a little difficulty with empty nest life, especially without Bill. Annie was only six months post-graduation, and she missed having her around. But one thing was sure, she would

not

put an ad in the college paper. She knew she'd wake up to find applicants wrapped around the block. Sadie decided she would check the bulletin board at church on Sunday. She'd seen such things there in the past, and it seemed a much safer way to go about it.

Sadie sat down at her computer and worked for the rest of the day, creating CAD designs for her employer. She was one of the lucky ones who was never called permanently back to the office when the Covid bug went away. Sadie only had to go into the office on Mondays, and one other day of her choice. She'd attended many a Zoom meeting from home in a nice blouse over a pair of yoga pants.

The next Sunday, she found what she was looking for on the church bulletin board almost immediately. It was one of those ads with the phone numbers typed vertically on the bottom and then the spaces between them cut with a scissor. It made it easy for folks to tear off a number. Only one tag had been torn off.

Junior year engineering student looking for local housing. Call Kelly. 352-101-7474.

, Sadie thought.

"Hello," a deep male voice answered when she called the number.

"Hi, can I speak with Kelly, please?" Sadie replied.

There was a pause on the other end. "Can I ask what this is pertaining to, please?"

Thinking she was speaking with a protective father, she smiled. "Certainly, I'm calling about a room for rent." She heard a deep inhale of breath.

"Ma'am, this is Kelly speaking."

"Oh," Sadie said. "I was expecting a young lady."

Another pause. "Nope. Kelly is an old family name. I hope it's not a deal breaker for you. Is it, ma'am?"

She thought for a moment and was about to say it was, but he spoke up again. "Ma'am, what is your first name, please?"

She gave it without thinking. "Sadie."

The deep voice made her think of one of her favorite actors, Harrison Ford. "Sadie, my housing situation has become...untenable. Can I please speak to you face to face about this, before you decide? Maybe over coffee or a burger?"

She thought for a moment and that word he used stood out to her. Untenable. Such a sophisticated word. It made her think of a mature and educated person. It made her want to

meet

this young man at the very least. She chuckled. "Well, a girl's gotta eat. How about... Cobby's at noon?"

***

Two hours later, she sat at Cobby's, the local college watering hole that was known across the country now. It had been featured on that Food Network show with that weird fellow with the spikey blonde hair.

Kelly had described himself and she waved when she saw him come in. He was a hair over six feet, lean with a head of wavy red hair that made him look a little unkept. She liked the light spray of freckles under his eyes. It gave him a boyish look that was at odds with his long limbs and stature. He carried a manila folder in his left hand.

He smiled, waved back, and started across the dining room. Kelly tried to get a good look at the older woman as he walked, winding through the dining area, but wasn't able to until he was nearly at her table. Sadie stood and offered him her hand with a wide smile.

His first thought was about just how easy on the eyes she was. Her graying hair was put up in a messy bun and she wore a pair of blue jeans with an attractive button down blouse. The woman had a curvy figure and a bustline that Kelly knew he would remember, even if they never saw each other again. Her eyes were blue and sparkled along with her smile.

"Thanks so much for meeting me," the young man said, as his hazel eyes met hers.

Sadie motioned for him to sit down. The young man was barely seated before he began what was surely a well-rehearsed monologue until Sadie smiled and held up her hand. Kelly paused with a sigh. "Shall we order first?" she asked with a chuckle.

She made small talk until their food had been delivered, asking him about his classes, when she noticed that he'd ordered the cheapest burger on the menu with nothing else but a glass of water. Sadie asked the server to bring out another large fry. Once they were served; she smiled at the young man and pushed the fries into the center of the table. He was a good-looking kid, but she thought he could use a few pounds and she could see he was very anxious.

"Now, while we enjoy these Guy Fieri approved hamburgers, why don't you tell me a bit about yourself?" She held up her hand again when he took a big breath. "Slowly. I'm not going anywhere." She saw him exhale and then visibly relax.

As they ate, Kelly told her about his situation. He told her how he'd been raised by his grandmother after his single mother passed away when he was six. He'd never known his father.

She looked at him as he spoke and thought that it could be all lies, hoping to take advantage of her sympathy, but from the look on his face and the way his voice changed when he spoke of his grandmother, she didn't believe it was. Her heart went out to him.

With a greasy hand, he tapped the manila folder and when she looked interested; he opened it and showed her a collection of documents. His highschool grades. His scholarship and grant paperwork. A check stub from his security job. His grades from his freshman and sophomore years. "I've spoken with my manager. If you want, he'll allow you to see the background check that they did when they hired me."

Sadie waved it away. "Tell me where you are living now."

"I'm sharing a cheap apartment with three bedrooms and about five other guys," he said between mouthfuls. Sadie looked down at the disappearing french fries and smiled.

"Is it bad?" she asked. The young man just nodded. She could imagine that any sort of quiet or privacy would be hard to come by in a place like that.

She leveled a serious eye at him. "What can you afford to pay for the room?"

Kelly swallowed hard and gave her a figure. When Sadie frowned, he quickly added, "But I'm a handy guy! I can mow the lawn, trim hedges, clean pools, whatever you need!"

Sadie spun her last bite of her burger into some catsup on the wrapper. With the rent money, if she no longer had to pay for lawn service, that would put her in the black. Barely. Her husband, Bill, had always taken care of the yard and she'd been paying a service ever since his passing.

"Okay." Sadie said, and Kelly shot up in his chair. "The lawn is yours. I don't have a pool, but I do have a hot tub. It's broken right now, but maybe a handy guy could fix it."

Kelly began a heartfelt spiel about how she wouldn't regret it and how quiet he'd be and how he'd keep the lawn just perfect, and then he looked down at her left hand. His mouth shut with an audible snap. "You're married. Your husband...?" He let the question hang unfinished.

"My husband passed about two years ago. Listen, we have plenty of time to get to know one another. When do you want to move in?"

The young man squirmed in his chair. "How does right now grab you?"

Sadie laughed heartily, and Kelly finally smiled. "That's fine. We'll go load up your car and get it done."

He looked back at her sheepishly. "I don't have... a car."

She was surprised. "How do you get to work?" she asked, and he explained he had a scooter that did the job rather well and cheaply.

Sadie sighed. "All right, let's go get your stuff."

***

Two hours later, Sadie pulled into her driveway with Kelly's things. Everything he had, barely filled the backseat. Her home was a modest, single-story ranch-style house, with a two-car garage. She was just getting out when Kelly pulled up on his scooter. It was unlike anything she'd ever seen. It looked completely hand built, and it resembled a recumbent tricycle with a small gas powered motor above the single rear wheel, behind the rider. Between the two

front

wheels was a rugged-looking container with a lid and a lock that kept his school things protected.

Kelly claimed he had built it himself from plans in one of his late grandfather's old Popular Mechanics magazines. It spoke of someone who was indeed handy and resourceful, as every part seemed borrowed from something else.

After securing his scooter in the garage and finding the extra garage door opener for him, she took him inside. She gave him the grand tour, and it ended in the guest room. It looked like what it was. A teenager's bedroom that had been recently un-kidded. A single bed, with a nice dresser and a small desk with a lamp. She was surprised to find the young man near tears and he took a big breath and wiped his eyes when he saw she'd noticed.

"Sadie, I swear you won't regret this. To have a place I can sleep and study and not worry about my things being stolen will be such a load off my shoulders."

She smiled, then she looked at him seriously. "Now, I will

not

be cleaning up after you. For what we agreed on, you get a room and the evening meal. I work full time as well. Sometimes at home, sometimes in the office. I'm a CAD designer." Kelly nodded his understanding and agreement. "You do your own laundry, clean up after yourself. The guest bathroom is yours." Her eyes met his. "

Keep it clean

. I don't have a lot of visitors, but it happens occasionally after church."

She pointed to the room next to his. "This was my husband's office." She opened the door, and they both turned into it. It was bookshelves on either side of the room with a big desk that faced a window into the backyard. The open wall next to the door featured a flatscreen TV and a futon.

"He was a writer. He was moderately successful in science fiction and murder mysteries." She smiled warmly at the memory of her late husband at his desk. "And the occasional television episode." She sniffed and then gave Kelly a sad smile. "He never made it big, but it kept a roof over our heads and put our daughter through college."

She waved her hand in front of her face and then took a deep breath and smiled. "If you'd like to use this room for studying or anything, feel free. You saw my office by the front door, but I pay the bills in here because that's where Bill used to do them." She motioned towards the television. "You can play video games on this or whatever you young folks are up to these days."

Kelly grinned. "Video games. Wouldn't that be nice?" When she met his eyes, he finished his thought. "I haven't played one in two years."

That night, Sadie pulled the sheets tight around her. Her mind was set on one inescapable fact. There was a

man

in her home. A young, virile

man

. God, how she missed the feel of a man between her legs. Her hand slid down over her vulva and she stroked her fingers over her pussy lips.

Oh fuck, it has been so long

, Sadie thought as she groaned softly.

But Kelly was so young. She imagined his face between her hands as his body thrust down into her fiercely. She wasn't surprised to find that she had no trouble thinking of him as a man and not a boy. How many times had she and Bill talked about this, fantasized about it?

Her slick fingers turned lazy circles around her clit and she felt her heart race. "Oh, yes!" she whispered urgently. Finally, she could endure it no more and she turned and reached into her bedside drawer.

She lifted her blue rubberized vibrator to her lips and licked it before opening her mouth wide for it. She imagined young Kelly standing at her bedside, feeding his cock to her with his hands entwined in her wavy hair. At the thought, she ripped back the covers and spread her legs widely. She plunged the toy into her slick pussy and turned it on with her left hand. Normally about half intensity was her go-to speed, but tonight she was in quite a state and didn't stop until she was past three quarters intensity.

She imagined Kelly standing outside her door, naked in the hallway, listening to her whine and moan as her orgasm built until it finally overwhelmed her. She rolled onto her side, buried her face into her pillow, and screamed into it as her body spasmed repeatedly. Finally, she lay gasping on the sheet, basking in the dopamine rush that infused her body.

After a minute, she could feel the wetness beneath her, and grinned before rolling over onto the other side of the bed. "Looks like you're sleeping in the wet spot tonight, honey." She pulled the covers back over her and sighed contentedly. "Love you," she whispered.

Moments later, quiet footsteps moved down the hallway, back to the guest room.

***

The next morning was Sunday. Kelly was on the couch, dressed in a pair of basketball shorts and a science team T-shirt. Engineering and math textbooks were open on his lap and next to him on the cushion. He looked up when he heard Sadie's footsteps in the hall.

Sadie spotted him as she stepped into the open kitchen and living space. "Good morning," she said as she turned towards the kitchen, but after two steps stopped and looked back at her young boarder. He was looking at her with a weird smile on his face. "I said, good morning," she said with a slight frown.

Her coarse tone broke into his reverie, and he started. "Oh, sorry. Good morning." He swallowed and continued. "Where are you off to, dressed so nicely?"

Her frown turned to a smile. "Church." She turned so he could see her outfit. She wore a lovely blouse and skirt combination that tapered at her waist, showing off her fine hourglass figure. The skirt was ankle length, and she wore a pair of wedge heeled sandals.

But that wasn't what caught his attention. It was her face and hair. The day before, she'd met him with no makeup and her hair in a bun, and he'd thought her attractive. Now she looked like a bombshell in her church clothes. Her makeup was very well done, accentuating her natural features and her gray hair was left loose, framing her face perfectly.

"You like?" she asked with a grin.

If she'd expected him to get shy, she would have been disappointed. Kelly smiled and nodded enthusiastically. "You look great." He turned his upper body towards her and she watched him admire her body from head to toe. At twenty-one years old, she hadn't expected that sort of boldness from him.

She cleared her throat. "Would you umm...would you like to go to church with me?" she asked as she turned toward the coffeemaker. She was pleased to see a pot already made. She heard pages turn and then a book close.

"No, thanks. I don't have any church-type clothes with me. They are back at my grandmother's place in Spring Hill."

Sadie took a big sip of her coffee. "Wait, aren't you a member of the church where I got your number?"
