Things had changed a bit for Tony since he had entertained the "Shining Twins". He usually had breakfast in his apartment - something light like cereal or scrambled eggs and toast. He went to the dining room for lunch and dinner. But now Mandy's table was always filled; she no longer saved a spot for him. When he sat at another table, if anyone was there they got up and moved. He tried several days but always ended up eating alone. He gave up and started taking all his meals in his apartment.
It was just as bad at dance class. None of the ladies would dance with him. He finally just left. He didn't go to movie night, game night, or writing class. He was getting very lonely. Even Emma didn't visit that week.
It continued on a downward spiral until the management team asked him to move out. They wouldn't give a reason for their decision. Tony didn't know what was going on but decided not to fight it. There wasn't anything left for him at the retirement community. He started packing.
Emma finally did come to visit. "I am so mad at you! I thought I knew you. What have you done? Couldn't you control yourself?"
Tony just looked at her. "What are you talking about? I haven't done anything."
"Betty and Joan are telling everyone that you forced them to have sex. No one wants anything to do with you. That's why you've been asked to leave."
"What? Are you kidding me? Do you really think I could physically force either of them much less both of them? Betty alone would tear me up. I'd be a eunuch! Yes, we had sex, but it was consensual. And why would you believe them without even talking to me? I thought we had a relationship."
"Wait. Are you saying you didn't force them?"
"Don't be silly, Emma. Of course I didn't force them. You know they came to visit expecting to have sex. What is wrong with you? What is wrong with everyone?"
"Oh Tony, I am so sorry. How can I make it up to you? Wait, I know how to handle this. Please don't move out for a few days."
Emma did know how to handle it. She told Betty and Joan that they shouldn't tolerate such action from Tony, and Emma was going to call the police.
"Don't do that, Emma," cried Joan.
"Yes," argued Emma, "we need to make Tony pay for his actions."
"You don't understand," pleaded Betty. "He didn't force us. We just said he did, because we thought that would make him write an erotic story about non-consensual sex. Things just got carried away, and we didn't know how to stop it. We're sorry. We'll apologize to Tony."
"You'll do more than apologize to Tony." Emma took them to the management office. After they explained, Emma was told to ask Tony not to leave. She thought Management was a bit concerned about legal action. Emma then took Betty and Joan to Tony. Again they explained and apologized.
"Apologizing to me is not enough," replied Tony. "What about everyone thinking I forced myself on you? No one will have anything to do with me."
"Oh, please Tony. We'll do anything," cried Joan. Betty nodded her head.
