Prolog
Charlie Smith had a good career as a master masseur. He had owned several successful massage establishments. Early in his career he studied in Southeast Asia. He learned many acupressure massage techniques. Some techniques were erotic and led to a happy endings.
After his wife passed unexpectedly, he sold his business and retired at the age of 69. He also sold the old family house in suburbia. He then purchased a small modern cottage overlooking the ocean on the East Coast.
Being an early riser, he loved to walk on the beach at dawn just before sunrise. The smell of salt air and the ever-changing moods of the ocean suited his frame of mind. Each morning was different. These mornings were special to him.
The Green Flash
Early this morning, Charlie notices a feeling of uncertainty in the cool air as he walks on the beach. The tide is going out and the waves are crashing hard on the shore. Somehow it all seems unusually different.
He feels it. Something is calling him toward the boardwalk. It draws him to sit on his favorite bench looking out at the horizon.
He finally gives in and sits on the bench to watch the sunrise. As the sun breaks the horizon, a green flash from the rising sun mesmerizes him and he smiles.
Looking down at the beach, he sees someone dancing on the water's edge coming his way. As the figure comes closer, he sees it is a young woman. She is skipping and dancing in the foam along the shore.
She dances up the sand to the boardwalk and sits down on the opposite side of the bench. This lovely creature is barefoot and dressed in a short green skirt. Her red hair is dyed with green streaks, and she is wearing green lip gloss. She has this strange look and she is beautiful in the morning glow.
"Did you see it," she asks? "Tell me you saw it!"
"Why yes young lady, I did see it. It is the Green Flash. It is an atmospheric phenomenon that rarely occurs when the sun rises from a cool crisp dawn."
He could not help but notice she is bra-less. Her nipples are poking in the front of her pale green blouse. He concludes they must be hard from the cool sea breeze.
She huffs, "That may be your scientific explanation, but I cast a spell to bring you to this bench and make it flash green."
"What makes you think you can cast a spell and bring on the Green Flash?" He chuckles, "People have been seeing it for thousands of years. Some people stay up all night drinking only to watch the sunrise; hoping to see the Green Flash."
She laughs, "You don't know much of the Fae world, do you?"
"So, are you a fairy or an elf with magical powers?"
"How do you know of the Fae world?" She took a deep breath.
He smiles, "Oh, I have read some fantasy books about witches, fairies, and the Fae."
He could tell she is getting perturbed, so he asks her kindly, "How do you know of the Fae and fairies?"
He guesses her age to be in her mid-twenties from all his years of massaging women. Her body is quite a lovely and she is uniquely graceful in her movements. Something about her eye contact is making him want to hold her.
This is silly, he thought, I am getting stiff. He tries to wish off those thoughts thinking he may be old enough to be her father or even grandfather.
She slides over the bench next to him and takes his hand and holds it.
"I knew it, you are the one!" she whispers... almost like a chant. "I am not a fairy; I am a witch!"
Such an unusual gesture from her. Something is happening to me, he thought. I am feeling as if I have known her all my life, yet I want to know more.
Charlie asks, "You say you knew it. What do you know?"
"You know I am different from anyone you know. I know you know. I have been watching you walk on the beach, and I find you to be special. The way you walk and how each morning you sit to view the sunrise. Quite erotic, don't you think?"
He looks at her hand in his and then back into her eyes. For some reason he feels exhilarated. It is as if time has stopped! What is this strange spell she has on me? I need to understand more.
Taking a deep breath, Charlie asks, "There is a story inside of you and I want to know you more! I am not sure why I feel this way. And... anyway, how is this erotic?"
"Now that the sun is up, let's go get a cup of coffee. Of course, you will pay, I deem it so. Later, you will make love to me," She giggles and stands.
Charlie shook his head; did he hear that right?
"Since I am going to buy you coffee, what is your name? By the way, I am Charlie."
"Ha, Charlie, wouldn't you like to know! Do you want to know my real name or my Fae names?"
"You go by two names?" Charlie chuckles.
"Oh, no, I go by three or four names. Sometimes I make up new names to keep the Faerie time confused. This morning, I am Zelda the Green Witch."
"It seems to me you live in an interesting fantasy world Zelda. Perhaps a cup of coffee will clear both our heads. Though, I must say, I find you very charming and attractive."
The Coffee Shop
Walking toward the coffee shop Charlie could not help but notice her perfect body. She seems to float like a ballet dancer. She again takes his hand lightly and swings their arms as they walk.
Further down the boardwalk, Charlie notices a rather unique new age store. Red letters spell The Tarot Knows. He can't remember if he had seen this store before. Being early morning, it was closed.
Charlie sort-of guides this lovely lady toward the front window and they stop.
"Come on," she says, "Let us get a cup of coffee while the morning is young."
Mesmerized as he is about the store, she drags him away. "I have much to tell you; it is not a time to dawdle."
One block back from the boardwalk is Charlie's favorite coffee shop.
"What may I get you... Zelda the Green?"
