The Old Neighbor Ch. 05
After months of meticulous planning and anticipation, the day had finally arrived. The early morning air was cool, carrying the faint scent of dewy grass as Sarah loaded her luggage into the car. Nearby, Alice babbled happily in her seat, her bright blue eyes tracking the world around her with innocent curiosity.
Sarah paused, taking a deep breath to steady her racing heart. The thrill of taking a trip with her secret lover and baby filled her with mixed emotions: excitement, a tremor of guilt, and undeniable arousal from how naughty the whole prospect was. She crouched down, carefully lifting Alice and settling her into the backseat. "Are you ready for our big adventure, sweetheart?" she cooed, kissing the baby's forehead softly. Alice responded with a cheerful gurgle, her tiny hands swatting playfully in the air.
The sound of approaching footsteps broke the quiet moment. Sarah turned, her breath catching slightly as she saw Albert strolling up the driveway, luggage in hand. His ever-present smirk curled at the corner of his mouth, his faded blue eyes glinting with that familiar charm and mischief that tangled her into this whole affair.
"Ah, there they are! My two beautiful girls!" the old man greeted, his tone far too lighthearted to be innocent.
Sarah forced a smile, though her cheeks flushed faintly. "Morning, Albert," she responded with a smile, stepping aside as he set his bag.
Albert's gaze softened as it shifted to Alice, who kicked her feet excitedly in her seat, reaching her small hands toward him. "Ah, my little angel!" he exclaimed, crouching beside the car. His uncharacteristically warm voice held no hint of smugness that always colored his words when he spoke to Sarah. He tickled Alice's belly, eliciting a stream of giggles from the child.
Sarah stood back, her arms folding across her chest as she watched the scene. For all his faults--and she had a long list of them--Albert was undeniably good with Alice. Seeing him dote on her daughter brought a reluctant smile to her lips.
But that smile faded just as quickly. Alice wasn't just
her
daughter. She was
their
daughter. The proof of an affair Sarah still couldn't come to terms with, no matter how many months had passed. Those bright blue eyes, identical to his, were a constant reminder of her choices, the secret they both carried and the tangled mess they could never undo.
Albert glanced back at Sarah, his expression knowing, as if he could hear the guilt swirling in her mind. "I still can't get over how cute Alice is. She's perfect, isn't she?" he murmured, his voice low and filled with something that made her stomach twist.
Sarah bit the corner of her lip, swallowing hard as her arms tightened around herself. She instinctively clenched her thighs, aroused by how naughty their whole ordeal was. "Yeah," she said quietly. "She is."
Albert's grin widened, dark with satisfaction flickering in his old eyes as he watched Sarah carry his luggage into the trunk. He reveled in the fact that he'd knocked her up right under her husband's nose, and Alex could be none the wiser. Every time he looked at Alice--those bright blue eyes, so unmistakably his--filled him with a sense of triumph.
His gaze lingered on Sarah, the flush on her cheeks, the way her curves filled out her worn sweats and cropped t-shirt as she shut the trunk with a soft thud. The thin fabric rode up just enough to reveal a sliver of her smooth stomach, teasing him like a promise. Albert's grin deepened, his cock already straining against his pants at the thought that awaited him.
It didn't matter how many times he'd fucked her. Seeing her like this, casual and unaware of how irresistible she looked, made him want her all over again. He could already picture her naked beneath him, her body trembling, her soft voice moaning his name. The image seared into his mind as his hands twitched at his sides, eager to pull her close, to claim her again and again once they arrived at their hotel.
As Sarah moved to adjust Alice's car seat, the sound of the garage door creaking open made her pause. Alex stepped inside with a cheerful smile as he made his way over to them.
"Ah, heading out now?" he asked, his tone bright, though a hint of reluctance lingered in his voice.
"Yeah, just about," Sarah replied softly, brushing her hands down her sweats.
Alex made his way over to Alice, crouching beside her seat. "And you, little miss," he cooed, gently brushing his fingers over her soft curls, "You be good for mommy and Albert, alright? Don't give them too much trouble while you're off having adventures."
Alice babbled happily, her small hands reaching up for him as Alex pressed a kiss to her forehead. "I'm going to miss you," he murmured, his voice tender.
Sarah stood by the trunk, her arms resting lightly at her sides as she watched the moment unfold. She caught Albert's gaze, his sharp blue eyes meeting hers with a knowing look that made her stomach flutter. They both know the truth--a truth that Alex would never suspect. Alice, so bright and happy in her car seat, wasn't his daughter. She was Albert's, their elderly neighbor.
Albert smirked faintly, his arms crossed as he leaned against the passenger door, watching Alex dote over the child that wasn't his. His expression was calm, almost amused as if he relished the irony of it all.
"Take good care of my girls, Albert," Alex said, straightening and patting the older man lightly on the shoulder. "I appreciate you keeping them company on this trip."
"Don't worry about a thing, bud," Albert replied smoothly, his voice full of practiced charm that came so easily to him. "You know I'd do anything for Sarah and the little one." His words were innocent enough, but when his gaze slid back to Sarah, there was nothing innocent about it.
Alex turned to Sarah, pulling her close for a lingering kiss on the lips. "You two have fun," he said softly, his thumb tracing her cheek affectionately. "You deserve this."
Sarah nodded, forcing a smile as she met his gaze. "We will," she murmured, her voice calm, though her pulse quickened at the weight of Albert's stare.
As Alex stepped back, waving one last time as he disappeared into the house, the garage fell quiet again, save for the faint hum of Alice babbling in the backseat.
Albert tilted his head, watching Sarah with the same knowing grin. "You hear him," he drawled, his voice low and teasing as he slid into the passenger seat. "We're supposed to have fun, sexy."
Sarah rolled her fetching green eyes, though her cheeks flushed as she slid into the driver's seat. "Oh, I intend to," she said softly, gripping the wheel with a playful smirk.
Albert chuckled as he leaned back, placing a hand on her upper thigh and giving her a firm, possessive squeeze. "That's my girl. Now let's get going before we miss our flight."
Sarah started the engine, the garage door closing in front of them as they backed out of the driveway. The tension between them remained heavy and electric. As they pulled onto the road, leaving her house behind, Sarah felt a thrill curl in her stomach.
