Happy reading :)
The rain was pouring down in heavy droplets, battering the car, as I drove through the pitch-black Texas night. The only lights guiding my path were the moon and the dull glow of the headlights streaming out onto the jet-black asphalt of the road I was on. I was driving back to my hometown in central Texas to see my family for a reunion, the first one we've had in the years since I've been gone.
I was about four hours into the five-hour drive and my eyes were starting to become a little weary. As I was gliding down the road at about seventy-five miles an hour I saw a dark figure on the side of the road standing next to a truck that had smoke coming out of the front of it. I flashed my taillights as I was slowing down and pulled over onto the side of the road with the person and the broken heap of a car.
As I was getting out I started to notice a few things that I could not distinguish while I was driving down the road at such a high speed. First, the car was a larger than average truck, massive in comparison to the muscle car I was driving. And two, the dark figure was a woman, slightly older than normal, around her mid forties-early fifties.
As I approached the car I yelled out into the darkness in the direction of the car, hoping my voice would penetrate through the pitch-black void that enveloped me. "Ma'am, are you there?!"
It took a few seconds but she finally replied. "Yes! I'm over here!"
I followed the direction of the slightly familiar voice and came upon the truck. The wind was blowing my hair all over the place and the rain did nothing to help me see that evening.
As I came upon her she began to speak, "Thank God you stopped. I never thought anyone would."
It was at that moment that I realized who it was... It was my childhood best friend's mother, Janet McGowan. I had fantasized about this woman for years when I was younger and even now she still populates the majority of my wet dreams.
"Well are you just going to stand there, or are you going to help me young man?" Janet sounded a little worried, like I might be some kind of robber or murderer.
"Janet, it's me, Brian. You know, Brian Walker, Connor's friend?" I tried to keep the excitement out of my voice, but the act was doomed to fail.
"Oh my God! Brian, is it really you? I haven't seen you in ages! Last I head you were a dealership manager out in the Gulf coast. What are you doing here?" Janet just rapidly shot all the questions out in a manner that left me a little stunned.
"Yes Janet, it's really me," I said in a joking tone. "Why don't we go back to my car and get you out of all of this rain, we can talk once you're warm."
"Sounds good to me!" She replied enthusiastically.
Janet seemed to be really happy for someone who had probably just spent a good half an hour out in the rain trying to flag down a car. We both walked back to my car, trying to keep the wind and the rain from bogging us down. I came over to the passenger side and helped her into the car as best I could. Then I ran around to the other side and hopped into the driver's seat.
As I turned the car on I noticed that Janet was shivering beside me. Thinking for a second I reach back into the back seat and grabbed a blanket from the pile of clothes and other items I had brought with me on the trip. "Here Janet," I said handing her the blanket. "You'll be warmer with this around you."
"Thanks," she said, her teeth chattering all the while. "I'm so glad that you're here. Without you I might have died out there."
There was no doubt she was exaggerating the dying part, but I could hear the sincerity in her voice. I turned the car's heater on and it started to warm up quite considerably in the small interior.
"So, now are you going to tell me why you're here?" She looked at me with those shimmering blue eyes and I couldn't help but get lost in them... "Hey, Earth to Brian! You still there?"
"Oh, yeah, sorry... I was just... Never mind..." I was stammering out words like a little schoolboy who got caught peeking in the girls locker room. "I'm back for a family reunion." I said that with hardly any enthusiasm at all, the reunion was not something I was looking forward to...
"Why the long face? Won't it be good to see your mom and dad, and your brothers and sister?" She sounded concerned for me, and rightly so.
"I guess so, I mean, I haven't seen them since the week after graduation, and that was almost six years ago."
"See there you go! Now come on, lets get on back, we can talk more along the way." She sounded almost ecstatic to get back to town.
"Don't you need to call a tow truck or something?" I was a bit worried about her leaving her truck out here in the middle of nowhere.
"Nah, I'll get someone out here to fix it later, let's just worry about getting you back into town."
With that I buckled my seatbelt, turned on my lights and blinker, and headed back out onto the jet-black road. "So what were
you
doing out here?" I asked Janet.
"I was on my way back from visiting some relatives up in the northeastern part of Texas. I was coming back when smoke started coming up from under the hood. I pulled over onto the side of the road and have been trying to flag a car down ever since, well, until you came along." She said the last part of that almost in a sultry tone of voice.
As she was talking the blanket slowly slipped from her body and I noticed that she had on a pair of tight fitting jeans that hugged onto her thighs for dear life. "It's getting kind of hot in here with that heater on," Janet said, and with that the heavy jacket she was wearing came off as well. Beneath the jacket Janet had on a slim tank top that hid nothing from the eyes. Her long golden hair slipped down and around her neck as she sat there. Following that came her perfectly proportioned breasts and down into her tight flat stomach. Although Janet was old enough to be my mother she didn't look a day over thirty.
"I can turn it down if you'd like Ms. McGowan." I was hardly able to get those few words out. Here I was on the highway with a gorgeous woman sitting next to me, and she was
definitely
putting on a good show.
"No, that's quite alright Brian. I like it when it's
