The museum of Art in this Midwestern community was having a very hard time paying its bills when Wellington Wentworth heard about their problem from his son Arthur as his son likes the town. He went to see the board of trustees with a proposal to give them a 26 million dollar grant seeing as his 22 year old son who just finished college with a degree in art appreciation liked the town and wanted to use the people and the museum as his models for drawings.
Wellington said that he would give the museum the donation if they would give his son Arthur free reign of the museum so that he can prefect his drawing and painting skills. Arthur was very spoiled by his parents he has always gotten his way as he is the only child of the Wentworth's. Mr. Wentworth will be sending to the town a world renowned artist to work with his son the only thing that they would have to do is let them use the town as their background for his sons drawings and paintings.
Cora Kingston the museum's curator was ecstatic that they would have a world renowned artist working in their small town and the town manager gave Mr. Wentworth the keys to the city thinking that a lot of tourist traffic will be coming through the town to see the artist working. The only thing that the town manager did not check out is the types of drawing and painting that the artist's specialty was and he said to Mr. Wentworth that the whole town will cooperate with his son during his summer stay in the community.
The end of May Arthur showed up at the museum with the artist that we will call Jake. He went to the museum and walked through the second floor where there were many female figure studies done by many of the local artists over the years. Arthur went to see Cora and she walked with him telling him about the figure studies. He asked her what she thought about them, she said that they are necessary to become a good artist. Jake was there and said that he was glad that she felt that way as Arthur has expressed an interest as using her as a model for many of his drawings. Cora had to have Jake repeat what he said as she did not think that she heard him right.
Arthur broke into the conversation stating that he has seen in the art world mostly young women and he would like to concentrate on mature women as models and he would like to start with the museum curator as his model. At this time Cora refused to be a model for him when he told Cora that he wanted to do figure studies using her. Arthur called his father he handed the phone to Cora when Mr. Wentworth answered the phone Cora explained to the senior Wentworth that his sun wants her to model nude for him. This did not sway the senior Wentworth stating that the donation was contingent on his son getting cooperation from the town in his drawing endeavor.
After Mr. Wellington got off the phone with the Museum Curator he called the Town Manager and Mr. Wellington told the Town Manager that he does not want his son to have to call him to get the community to do as his son instructs as he will pull the grant if he finds that the town is reluctant to comply with Arthur's instructions.
The Town Manager was in a panic after he got off the phone with Mr. Wellington. He called Cora and told her to come to his office for a meeting as they may lose their grant. Cora was there within five minutes. She told him that Arthur wanted her to pose for figure studies. The Town Manager said that she would have to find someone else of his likings or she would have to model for him.
The fifty nine year old mother of 3 boys and being the wife of the town bank president she is in a contrary on what she could do to defuse this situation. Cora a 5'8" thin woman with small breast, her best asset is her bottom as it is firm and her hair is black with streaks of gray that she feels gives her character.
That night she told her husband what had transpired during the day. He told her that he was fine with her modeling nude to keep the grant and the library open. He also told her that with a famous artist in town it may bring in more tourist traffic something the town has been trying to do for many years since their manufacturing base went south. These remarks made Cora feel better and not as stressed seeing that her husband will not be mad at her if she had to model.
The next morning after a restless night sleep she approaches Arthur about modeling. He smiles at her when she approached asking her if she was ready to model. She said that she would be willing to help him find another woman that would suit him better. Again Arthur told Cora that he wanted her to model for him.
Not wanting to upset Arthur and running out of other options she agreed to model for him. Smiling he thanked her as they walked back into the Museum. Going to the second floor Arthur noted the sign that said only persons over 21 could go to the second floor alone and anyone 16 to 21 needed to be accompanied by an adult. Furthermore there was a 5 dollar donation for adults and two dollar donation for children, students and seniors to view the artwork on the second floor. He asked Cora if the rules noted on the sign for the second floor was strictly adhered to she said yes it was. Good he said as he wanted to start with her modeling on the second floor. This upset her as she thought they were going to have her model in some place that was not public. She asked him if they could have the modeling session in a more private place. Arthur said that he thought that she wanted to have publicity for their Museum and this is a way to do it with a world famous artist in town. Arthur also stated that they could raise the donation fee for the second floor to 25 dollars for adults and young adults 16 to 21 that have to be accompanied by adult to 15 dollars. When do you want to start she asked as I have some work to do trying to postpone her debut and surprised he wants to have her model while the facility is open.
