"The garage door code is 6728, same as it always was. There's some food in the house, but if you need anything else you'll have to go to the store," the first text from my mom at 10am read. The next one came immediately after, "I fed Sadie already and she'll need to go outside by about 4pm so make sure you're here by then!" Finally, the last one, "We're heading to the airport now, love you!"
My parents were leaving for Mexico today and I was packing up my stuff to house sit and take care of the dog while they were gone. I have a remote job, so staying in their house wasn't a problem for me. It was even nice to get out of the city from time to time. Since I graduated from college and moved to the city only about an hour away from where I grew up, it was an easy solution for everyone involved when they were out of town. Now that my dad retired last year, they had big ambitions as world-travelers and were beginning to see those plans through. I was happy for them and glad they were finally living some long-held dreams.
I closed my work laptop at around 12:15 to give myself enough time to make the drive back to my hometown during what would normally be my lunch break. At 1:07pm, I pulled into the driveway. I could see Sadie in the window of the office at opposite corner of the front of the house from the driveway. Full tail-wag and butt wiggle in her excitement to see me as I got out and grabbed my things from the passenger side of the car.
Walking up to the front door, I glanced across the small front yard to the house next door with a new BMW sedan in the driveway. Grass and landscaping all immaculately manicured as usual. "Looks like Dana has some fancy new wheels," I said to myself. I got to the front door and realized that nobody was home and I needed to put in the code to enter through the garage, so I backtracked, punched in 6728 on the small panel mounted next the door, and made my way into the house.
When I opened the door to the hallway that connected the front door and kitchen in the back, Sadie came tearing around the corner and nearly knocked me over. "Hey girl!" I said as I petted her and rubbed her chest. My parents had gotten Sadie a few years ago when I was at college and I loved this dog. She was still only 3 years old and overflowing with that crazy puppy energy.
It was earlier than my mom said, but I let her out into the backyard to do her business while I got my work laptop out and connected to the Wi-Fi. I needed to be sure to be back online in case any important emails or chat messages came through.
"Nothing new, just how I like it." I said and turned to check on the dog through the glass window. She was there at the door looking at me. "Ready to come in already?" I said through the door which elicited more butt-wiggling and a paw swipe at the window. "Ok, ok, ok," I said as I let her back in.
I went to the refrigerator and checked out what was inside. "Typical," I said to myself. "Do these people even eat?" I thought with an eye roll referencing my parents' notorious lack of just about anything in the kitchen.
I went from cabinet to cabinet and found much more of the same. "I guess a grocery run is in order..." I said as I went back to my laptop to check the chat message that popped up.
After another couple of hours wrapping up small tasks at work I decided to head out to the grocery store. I went out the front door and locked it behind me, having now acquired the spare key my parents left inside for me. As I walked out I noticed that the car next door was gone. Thinking nothing of it, I headed to the car and made my way to the store.
On my way home, I turned left off of the busy street that led into my neighborhood and found myself behind a clean new BMW. I followed this car on the subsequent right and left turns to my parents' street and realized I must've been behind their neighbor Dana when I recalled seeing a similar car in her driveway earlier. My suspicions were confirmed when she turned into her driveway just before I made the turn into ours.
"Ohhhh shit," I said to myself with a giddy excitement as I parked the car. "Dana Davidson, what a nice surprise."
I quickly jumped out to be sure I didn't miss her but took my time to look casual as I made my way around to the passenger side to grab the grocery bags. As I walked around the front of the car I glanced quickly at the slick BMW in her driveway and saw the door start to open. I made my way to the front passenger door, now with my back turned to Dana's house, casually grabbed the bags, took a deep breath, and turned to close the door. Just after it shut, I turned to my right and saw her with hands on her hips looking right at me with a big smile.
"Well, hey there!" She said to me with a big smile and wave of her right hand. Her long, wavy, strawberry blonde hair down over her shoulders. She returned her hands to her wide hips.
I took what felt like an eternity to take in the sight in front of me before responding.
Dana had been our neighbor for as long as I could remember. She had a son that was about 6 or 7 years older than me, so we were never really friends. She was unmarried for the entire time she lived next to us, but I can remember some men coming and going, never lasting very long. She was the neighborhood dreamboat for me and all my friends, probably all the local dads too, and I was just the one lucky enough to live next door to her.
She had to be in her mid-50s now, but she still looked spectacular. She was about 5'5 with round, blue eyes and a slightly round face that tapered down into a thin chin just below a pair of full, but not overly big lips. She had thick thighs, always toned and muscular. They still were and they needed to be as they supported the big hips and ass that sat on top of them. Her ass was much like her legs, big and thick, but not fat. She was powerfully built for her size. And speaking of size, boy did she have it where it mattered. Two enormous and full breasts, her crown jewels. Myself and all of my friends in the neighborhood got our fair share of stares in whenever we could, and she looked just as nice now as she did when I was in high school a handful of years back.
She stood in front of me about 20 feet away in a tight pair of white pants, stylish sandals on her feet. Nails painted as usual, fingers and toes. She was always incredibly well-dressed and put together. She wore a light blue blouse that was loose but couldn't hide those breasts. Only a tarp wrapped around her body could conceal them fully. Her sunglasses were in her left hand at her hip and I could see her bright blue eyes blazing.
"God damn." I thought to myself before reciprocating her greeting.
"Hey, Ms. Davidson great to see you!" I said as I walked across the yard in her direction. I stopped about 8 feet away from her before reaching a small flower bed my mom had planted on the property line dividing our yard and Dana's.
"I was wondering if you still lived here, it's been a few years since I've run into you like this," I said.
"Oh honey, I'm not going anywhere. I have everything I need right here. My house, my pool. Can't beat this." She said with her big smile still planted on her face.
