Once again, this is a special collaboration with my very talented cowriter, RoleplayLiterate (known as Vivian White elsewhere on the internet). If you like this story, check out her stuff as well! You won't be disappointed.

Because Chapter 2 ends on a cruel cliffhanger, Chapter 3 will release a week from now rather than a month later. Look for it next week!

Chapter 2

Collin and Cassidy lay together in the cool dim of their bedroom, basking in the afterglow of a shared orgasm. These were the moments that Collin treasured the most with his wife. A time of warm togetherness.

But this time, the post-coital cuddles had been spoiled.

"Honey... I have something to ask you..." Cassidy's words were deeply serious.

Collin did his best to be patient as he watched Cassidy wringing her hands nervously, lying just a few feet away from him. Collin's wife was as lovely as usual, her slim, naked beauty pressing enticingly up into the thin sheet covering her. But her body wasn't important right now. Not when she was wearing that expression. Cassidy's face was flushed pink and her lower lip was trapped between her teeth. This had to be important for her to so dramatically announce it right after sex.

Had something bad happened at the store? Was it her parents? Collin wanted her to spit it out, but he knew that pushing his wife right now wouldn't help her nerves one bit.

Cassidy picked at the hem of the sheet, biting at her lip as she tried to organize her thoughts. Despite having gone over what she was going to say nearly a hundred times since meeting with Kelly, the thoughts and words kept getting jumbled in her mind. She'd waited until the weekend to ask her husband because she didn't want to have the stress of the workday or whatever responsibilities they had to get in the way. This could turn into a long conversation. Even a fight. And Cassidy wanted plenty of space and time to discuss everything earnestly and honestly. Having the conversation after sex had been Kelly's idea. Hopefully, her husband would be relaxed and happy enough to actually give the shocking question a chance.

But now, she was having a hard time getting the words she'd memorized out. Kelly had talked to her about what to say, how to say them, and suggest them, and... she'd even suggested a trump card to use if all else failed. First, though, she had to get the question out. So Cassidy took a deep breath, smoothed the sheets over her hips, and met Collin's worried gaze.

"Honey..." Her eyes darted away for a second, then back. "The other day, at the picnic, Kelly asked me for a favor." There, that was a good start.

Colin frowned in confusion. This wasn't the direction that he had expected to go. Kelly had been Cassidy's best friend for... well, for a long time. Collin knew Kelly pretty well by this point, although not as well as Cassidy did. She was a caring woman, and it was unusual for her to do anything that might upset his wife like this.

"What was it?' he asked, concern clear in his voice.

"She..." Cassidy took another deep breath. But, instead of coming out calm and collected, the words tumbled out and ran together. "SheaskedifIwouldbeinterestedinhavingathreesomewithherandJack."

Collin stared at his wife. He took a slow beat, failing completely to absorb his wife's words. Even when he managed to absorb them, they still didn't make any sense. "Wait..." he said, shaking his head. "I think I misunderstood you. Say that again."

"Ohhh Collin," Cassidy put her face in her hands, cheeks on fire. "Don't make me repeat myself! It's embarrassing enough to say it once!" She waited a beat, picking out each word slowly from her brain, "Kelly asked if I would... be intimate with her and Jack. For his birthday. Like, as a special present."

Collin felt his hand form a fist on its own beneath the sheets. Kelly... the sweet, caring friend that had helped Cassidy through thick and thin, and Jack, the charismatic preacher at their church. They had asked his delicate, shy wife for... for...

"So... this is a joke right? Is this some sort of... what, I don't know, prank?" Collin asked, his voice strained. But judging by the look on his wife's face, this wasn't anything to laugh at. His shock was giving way to anger. Or, at least indignation. A thousand questions shouted in his mind, but one seemed most important:

"And you told her 'no', right? Obviously?"

Cassidy sighed. Of

course

she'd said no. At least the first time. But then she just couldn't get the question out of her head. The

idea

. The fantasy. There was a feeling of flattery and pride that Kelly trusted her so much that she'd ask her for something so intimate. Plus... well... maybe she'd also been wondering about Jack. And Kelly. About...

things

...

Her cheeks began heating up. An image of Kelly in her underwear slithered into her mind's eye. She'd seen her friend changing plenty of times for pool parties or when they went shopping together and tried on clothes. The thought of her friend's body had never really triggered anything before, but now, this door had been cracked open, those memories were being tinted with a rosy hue of desire. Kelly was good looking. A very fine body. Cassidy had always known that. But now it seemed to mean something completely different. And Jack... well, the man's smooth and lightly defined abs and the slight V of muscle along his waist spoke for themselves.

It didn't surprise Cassidy that Collin was upset. Confused. She had been too, at first. Kelly and her had discussed how her husband might have this very reaction. But watching it happen in real time was uncomfortable, to say the least.

"Well, I mean, yes, but... we talked a bit more about it and..." Cassidy bit her lip, her face the very picture of anxiety. "I sort of promised I'd talk to you about it. Just, ya know, to see if you might be open to the idea."

Collin closed his eyes and took a deep breath, counting to three. Cassidy was a bundle of stress right now, and snapping at her wouldn't help. This wasn't her fault... It was Kelly's. Jack's. Suddenly, across the canvas of his closed eyes, Collin pictured Jack. Tall, broad, and smiling in a way that Collin had always found charming, until this moment. The image conjured a sudden twinge of inferiority. Collin didn't make a habit of comparing himself to other men, but Jack was more athletic than him, and, although handsomeness was subjective, Collin thought that if the congregation held a vote for the hottest man in church, Jack would be in the top five easily. Where would Collin rank?

Then, for one horrible moment, the image of Jack dissolved into a much more upsetting fantasy. The tall, square-jawed preacher rolling on a bed with Cassidy, their naked, sweaty skin rubbing against each other as their lips locked hungrily...

Collin's eyes shot open, and he pushed the filthy fantasy away with all his might, trying to ignore the stirring between his thighs from the idea. Instead he focused on his wife, who was still watching him nervously.

"So," he said with a sigh, "You're actually considering going through with this? Having sex with our preacher?"

The vivid fantasies returned to Cassidy's mind when her husband bluntly described the arrangement. Sex with Jack. All those old lessons about sex and sexual anatomy came back to her from school. The penis. The vagina. Jack... if she went through with this, Jack would be inside her. Just the simple, anatomically correct thought made Cassidy's chest burn and her pussy feel damp, just like they had when she'd gone to lunch with Kelly. But it wasn't just that she'd be with Jack. This was a

threesome

.

Three

. Jack. Her.

AND

Kelly. She'd be with Kelly naked... most likely touching, at least a little. Maybe even...kissing?

A chill went through Cassidy. The hairs on her arms prickled and goosebumps ran their way all along her skin as she thought about Kelly's lips. Jack's lips. Maybe... both of them together?

Dear Lord, when did I get so perverted?

She thought.

Finally, she just shrugged, the arousing thoughts still blooming in her head.

Cassidy looked mortified to Collin's eyes, a furious blush migrating from her face to her neck and chest. She was as red as one of the roses from her shop. Well, at least she understood how crazy of a discussion this was.

"Collin, don't be like that," she said gently. "This isn't about me wanting to have sex with Jack. Kelly just wants to give him a big surprise for his fortieth birthday. It's a

favor.

Strictly... like a transaction. She trusts me to not be weird about it. Listen, I know it's a big,

huge

, unconventional request. But, if you think about it, it's just one fun night. A... sort of girls night out kinda thing. Kelly wants to be a little wild. It's not like she's asking me to run away with them or anything. I understand it's kind of a big ask, but Kelly has been super sweet about it all. So don't be upset with her."

How could he not be upset? Another man wanted to have sex with his wife. And she was actually thinking about it. Suggesting it as if Jack was just borrowing a cup of sugar. As if that wasn't insulting or emasculating. And yet, there was something oddly compelling about the casualness of it, like it was some simple transaction. Collin had something Jack wanted, and he was asking to try it. To experience it for himself. Thinking about Cassidy in terms of a bargaining chip felt wrong. But that didn't stop Collin from having to shift slightly in bed, adjusting the sheets over his crotch so his wife wouldn't see the sudden growth happening. Luckily, what Cassidy had just said put everything into perspective. It made sense now. Sometimes Cass was just too much of a people-pleaser.

"Well, I'm sorry babe," Collin said, reaching out and cupping his wife's blushing cheek. Her eyes lifted to his, startled by his sudden touch. "It sounds like Kelly put you in an awful position. It's hard to just refuse your best friend a favor right to her face, right? Well, don't worry. I can be the 'bad guy'. Just tell her that your husband said 'no'."

Collin expected his wife's face to flood with relief now that he had offered her an out, but strangely, her eyes darted away from his, her expression carefully neutral.

"So, it's a hard 'no' from you then?" she asked softly.

"Pardon my French, but a hard 'hell no'," Collin stated firmly.

Cassidy looked... reluctant for a moment. She bit her lip like she did sometimes when she was thinking hard.

This was the outcome that Kelly and she had discussed. Collin wasn't a prude. Not really. But he wasn't exactly adventurous, either. And neither was she. Maybe that's why Kelly's indecent suggestion felt so attractive. It was out of Cassidy's comfort zone. Like trying a new restaurant, or going on a roller coaster for the first time. You didn't know what to expect, and that's what made it so exciting. But Collin didn't understand that yet. And Cassidy couldn't blame him.

She thought back to the part of the conversation with Kelly, when her crafty best friend had revealed their trump card. The tactic she was positive would secure Collin's agreement no matter what...

"So, if Collin's answer is a hard, firm, 'no'. And, let's be honest, it probably will be knowing him. I have one other suggestion." Kelly leaned in conspiratorially. "We could offer him a trade. Or at least suggest it."

"A trade?" Cassidy didn't understand. Were they going to exchange goats or dried goods like some ancient merchants?

Kelly grinned, her wide smile holding a trace of sly desire. "A trade. If you help Jack and me... I will help you two."

Cassidy, ever the innocent, still didn't catch on. Her head tilted in polite confusion.

Her friend chuckled sweetly. "Honey. Tell him if you have a threesome with me and Jack, then I would repay the favor. Collin could have a threesome with you and me." Her finger tapped Cassidy's nose like she was a child. "Or, I don't know. We can figure something out that satisfies everyone. Whatever that looks like," she added lightly with a wave of her hand.

The idea rocked Cassidy's world, even more so than the initial ask. Now they were talking about, not just one taboo sexual encounter, but two.

"You... you're not suggesting we lie, right?"

"No! Of course not. I'm serious. If you both want to invite me into your bedroom, then I'm willing to join you. At least, if that's something Collin's interested in. I would need to convince Jack, but he can't say 'no' to me. And fair is fair, after all. I guess we could negotiate something else but trust me, just hinting at the possibility will get that man's mind going. Drop the suggestion and see how he reacts. Like I said, boys think with that thing between their legs way more than they care to admit. And if the idea of you with me and Jack doesn't appeal, maybe the possibility of you and me and him will."

Cassidy pushed the memory aside and met her husband's gaze again, firming up her resolve. She wasn't sure how she felt about the idea of sharing him with Kelly, but if she was going to dive into this, then she needed to be open to the possibilities that came with it.

"Collin, honey," she glanced cautiously away, still organizing her thoughts, then continued. "Kelly told me that if you'd be willing to help with this, she'd be really,

really

, grateful. It's a big favor and she knows that sometimes big favors mean giving back." She leveled her gaze at her husband, trying to communicate the implications of what she was suggesting.

Collin gave her an incredulous look. "Well... that's nice honey, but I don't see how..." Then he stopped, his words trailing off as he put together the embarrassed look on his wife's face with the emphasis she had placed on her words. He gulped.

"Grateful..." Collin murmured.

"Yeah." Cassidy nodded, a shy smile quirking her lips. "

Very.

Grateful." She nodded quietly with each word, trying to emphasize them. Her husband wasn't dense, but he was about as innocent as she was, so this sort of innuendo might be a little out of his league.

Well... in Collin's opinion, that certainly put a different spin on the question. Maybe what was being proposed wasn't so much a giveaway as it was an exchange. That was a crude way to put it, obviously. It was a fun, kinky little experiment with mutual respect and boundaries and autonomy and yadda yadda yadda. The point, as far as Collin was concerned, was that a more equitable exchange wouldn't feel like Jack was stealing his wife.

And, honestly, Kelly was

hot

. Tall, dark, and curvy, with a quick laugh and a wicked sense of humor. Even if it made him shallow, the fact Kelly would be...

grateful

certainly made the deal feel sweeter.

Collin couldn't help but remember one of the handful of double dates he and Cassidy had gone on with Kelly and Jack. They had gone to a haunted house around Halloween. Pretty cheap and hokey, but enough to make the ladies shriek. In one room, Kelly must have been so freaked out that she mistook Collin for Jack, despite the height difference, and grabbed him in fear, pressing her soft, lovely body up against him in a way that made Collin's heart pound for reasons unrelated to the Vampire that had popped out of the closet. The thin sweater she'd been wearing didn't do much to pad against her chest as she rubbed against his arm. And maybe Collin was wrong, but he swore that for just a moment, he'd felt the brush of a stiff nipple against his skin.

Kelly had been apologetic afterward, but not embarrassed. She just said, "Sorry, big guy! You must have looked so manly I thought you could protect me!" She patted his chest and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. "Guess you're my hero." And with a wink she'd gone to take her husband's arm, laughing about her cute mistake.

Just a stupid memory. One that Collin should have forgotten. But hadn't.

"And how would you feel about... Kelly and her...

gratitude

?" He asked, reading his wife's reaction carefully.

Cassidy had gone over the possibility over and over. It sounded fair if she thought about it in simple terms of a transaction. A favor for a favor. But could she really watch her husband with another woman? Was it fair to not want him to do it, but wanting him to let her do it? Marriage was about give and take; understanding and agreement, even when there were immutable differences. But... asking to be allowed to go out and have sex with someone else, while not being willing to let him do the same seemed very unfair. But also... exhilarating.

She gave a noncommittal shrug. "If everyone's happy and agreeable. Then... fair is fair." It was simple and true. The underlying emotions and implications could be dealt with later.

Collin's mind was reeling now, and now there was no hiding the tent forming around his crotch. The idea of Cassidy being with another man felt awful... But, on the other hand, this might be the only opportunity he ever had to experience that forbidden male fantasy: two women at once. And it had practically fallen into his lap! With a smoking hot woman! It was the kind of thing Cassidy would never bring to him on her own, and he could never suggest it to Cassidy either. This strange, rare chance was the only one he would get. He was sure of it.

Collin licked his lips, thinking carefully, then said, "So...

Hypothetically

... If I were to say yes. How exactly would this work?"

***

Having coffee after church used to feel normal. Even boring. But today Cassidy couldn't help but fidget and feel out of place, like the surrounding people somehow knew what she was here to discuss with her friends.

Kelly and Cassidy were seated at an outdoor table, as far as they could get from the other patrons having afternoon cold brews or smoothies. They sat across from each other, both wearing lovely Sunday sundresses. Cassidy's was a pale blue; Kelly's a striking orange. Right now, they were simply waiting in silence as Jack gathered their orders. Kelly seemed perfectly at ease with the quiet, sitting with her hands folded in her lap and looking at some birds lazily flying by. Cassidy, on the other hand, felt like she was a spring, wound tight and ready to burst.

"Okay ladies. I come bearing caffeine." Jack smiled, walking up to the table carrying a tray of drinks. Cassidy tried not to look at his arm, the lean muscles flexing as he held the tray in one hand. "Vanilla iced late for the cool, elegant love of my life." He handed Kelly her drink as she favored him with an amused grin. "White chocolate cappuccino for the best gardener I've ever met. And for myself, a caramel monstrosity of flavors and whipped topping. More ice cream than coffee, really." He put the tray down on the table and sat between Cassidy and his wife. He wore a nice pair of slacks and a white button down, his tie and jacket discarded after church had ended and they'd agreed to meet at the coffee shop down the block.

Even in such a simple Sunday outfit, Jack was attractive. His slacks were just the right amount of tight along his thighs and backside. His shirt fit perfectly; not tight, but fitted enough to show that the man had some definition to his torso. His body was hard not to notice, though Cassidy was trying. Shamefully, even when Jack had been up in front of the congregation for the sermon this morning, she'd felt her eyes drifting all over the man, especially to his midsection, and lower too.

Get a grip, Cassidy. Try to at least not objectify the preacher during church!

Cassidy gripped her coffee, letting the warmth flow through her. The day was nearly perfect and the coffee just added a bit to the heat she was already feeling under her collar, being so close to Jack and Kelly. Maybe she should have gotten something cold? No, cold coffee just didn't taste right to her. Plus, she loved white chocolate. She sipped her drink and let her eyes drift to the married couple across from her.
