"Riya!!..Riyaa!!"
A bold voice echoed through the office of Mr. Gill. He is looking for one of his employees in Riya. She has been working at this company for a few years now and from the onset Gill had an eye on her. She made her way through the ranks and was now part of a marketing team which reported to Mr. Vishal Gill the VP of this firm. With some 20 years of experience, Gill has been at this position after his father took over the reigns from the Original founder and Gill's Grandfather Mr. Tarun Gill.
Riya on the other hand is a normal girl, married and happy, she shares her life with Pradeep. Both of them are in their mid 20s and have had little speed bumps in an ever changing life. Riya has kept her youthful beauty up and running. A curvy vixen, she has gotten really plump at all the right places. With a pleasant face and a bubbly loud personality, she lights up any room. But, she is not the same with Vishal.
Vishal has been a tough boss on Riya ever since she rejected an advance from his side early on. You see Vishal is a womanizer. Not the greatest looking man (not that he is a great human being either), Vishal loves to flaunt that daddy's money every opportunity he gets. Son of a tycoon, and a major position in this really successful company, many people can't afford to speak up, especially woman.
At a team dinner party, Vishal got an opportunity to corner Riya with his questions. On the dinner table Riya was seated right next to Vishal, who was in the corner most seat. At first it was just casual talk, but it soon turned into flirting, then his hand was around her neck and suddenly it was on her thigh. Riya felt uncomfortable as her boss tried to first make inappropriate jokes, then get touchy. She was happily married and completely averse to having any extra marital affairs.
She pushed his hand to the side and sat at a distance. But that didn't sit right with Vishal. Used to getting everything he wants, his ego was hurt. What followed was a tough time for Riya. Work mounted, work hours increased, availability for all meetings and events and on top of all that a handful of quite choice words every single day regardless of the quality of work. He made sure he paid her well to not consider changing her job, but made her professional life hell.
Riya was driven and strong and never showed an ounce of her frustration back home. She was loud and dominant in her marriage but never went overboard stating her problems. Pradeep was also supportive and a pleasant soul to come back home too.
Pradeep was an average joe. Never the most sought after guy, or the most powerful, he was just average. But he really loved his wife, a wife he felt always deserved better than him. Sex life was great they were at it atleast thrice a week and by the end both lay satisfied and tired. Pradeep was good enough for what Riya wanted and she was more than enough for what Pradeep deserved. But in her innocent requests for going deeper and harder at it, Pradeep was really insecure at her demands of more. The seeds of doubt always lay in his head. A wasteful thought, "How could she? She would never do this! She loves me...right?"
It was a very hot summer day as Riya was again overworked and reprimanded for an error she had nothing to do with, which is when Pradeep messaged that his loan for a new car got rejected. The couple was looking to upgrade their car and buy a pretty expensive SUV. Pradeep was confident that his loan will be approved but this came as a real shock. It broke Pradeep to not be able to get anything.
When Riya went back home she found her husband really dejected, it was his dream but now it seemed impossible. Riya too found her heart sinking seeing Pradeep's state.
Next day as she entered the office in her scooter, zoom passed a Porshe past her. Her hair went flying ahead as she saw Gill speeding his way through the campus. A slight thought went through her mind but she quickly squashed it.
While at her desk, she got news that Gill is really mad at something and wanted to meet her. Prepared for the daily reprimand, she stepped into his office. In an expensive grey suit stood an unimpressive man, wearing some foreign shoe with a blinding sheen, Gill was sitting on his table.
A knock, and entered Riya, a burgundy button up shirt and black formal trousers paired with her trusty office heals, she crawled her way towards him.
"Riya, Riya, Riya, it has been years since you joined and still get even the most basic things wrong....." Gill started rambling about it all, as Riya looked down. Never till this day has she ever shown a tear infront of him, but today she broke.
Tears rolled down her cheeks as her mascara got smudged. Gill stopped his lecture and stepped towards her.
"What happened?!" a confused Gill asked.
Riya looked up and he wiped her tears.
"Sit down and talk to me."
Gill consoled Riya and she told him everything that happened. Pradeep's disappointment, her helplessness. It just got to her. She cried while talking about Pradeep, as the man she loved was really not the same. A rented house and cutting corners at every thing, his clothes, lifestyle and much more, but it was still not enough.
Gill heard it all and licked his lips. This man was the happiest listening to this, and put on his sympathizer face.
"You should've come to me," Gill exclaimed, "I will give you the loan, on the condition of a promise."
Riya in a moment of weakness, looked up.
"You don't have to pay immediately, I could issue it today, no interest, but in time I would need you to repay me back"
Not understanding the intricacies, she just believed everything Gill said, and agreed to his terms.
Gill knew she was stuck.
In the following days, Gill issued this loan and finally Pradeep and Riya booked their car. Gill also told Riya that he would help fund their new house too.
Riya's view of her tyrannical boss was fading away while Pradeep questioned this charity. Everytime he raised a concern, Riya squashed it down.
