A/n: Okay sorry for the long update but school is really pulling me down lately, college is hard. I also what to clarify that Jake is a Plastic Surgeon, some people actually think he saves lives, and I suppose if you call a boob job saving a life, then sure but no, he was only working in his residency in the previous chapters.

Amanda stood in front of the mirror in her room wearing a spaghetti halter dress with stunning back. The details on the dress had a smooth crescent cut and crisscross lace-tie-up for that form-fitting silhouette. It had magnificent dual chiffon ruffled slits in front extends right above the knees swaying across the legs flirtatiously. She smooth it out starting at herself as she heard Jake cursing in the bathroom as he came out with his bowtie undone.
"I can't do it." Jake said explaining the problem with tie. Amanda just shook her head a little as she came over and started tying it for him.
"You go through this every time we go to one of these things." Amanda said tying it correctly. She could hear the classical music playing downstairs and she could hear the sounds of the busy waiters and workers fixing up the dining room for the party.
"This is one of the most biggest dinners ever though Mands, I could be head physician and not only that, bring in a lot of money for the hospital." Jake said looking at the clock as it sped up making his heart race.
"Yes sweetie, I know. You told me this like 500 times today." Amanda said kind of annoyed, but understanding at the same time. Jake waited for Amanda to finish then he ran to the door as he went to go check the final plans that were going to be done. Amanda walked into the hallway and stared over the stairwell leaning her arms on it. She put her head in her hand as she stared at her husband barking orders to people. She held her satin purse on her forearm which matched her cute red dress, her hand reached in and she fell back into the guest room down the hallway. Once in the room, she dialed his number and waited for him to pick up.
"Hello?" He said like he was out of breath.
"Are you busy?" Amanda said automatically smiling as she heard his voice.
"No, just working out." Daniel said into the phone.
"I wish I could ditch this." Amanda said with a frown on her face.
"Yes, but then you would feel guilty and you do this to yourself each time. I thought that was why we were gonna stop this whole thing." Daniel said continuing. "You may like it now, but you hate yourself in the morning."
"I miss you though, emotionally and physically." Amanda whispered into the phone.
"I miss you too." Daniel said with a sad voice. "But, I'm not gonna do this if you just regret it every time."
"I know." Was all Amanda could spit out.
"Listen, I gotta go finish my run on the treadmill." Daniel said trying to get off the phone with her, not wanting to cause more pain to himself and her also.
"So, we just don't talk anymore?" Amanda said quietly not getting loud.
"I want you so bad, so bad you have no idea, but I don't wanna cause hurt, and after everything, that's all you feel." Daniel said. "If I see you, I'm not gonna be able to control myself. Just think about some stuff, call me when you are free." And the line went dead. Amanda stared at her phone for a long second then put it back in her purse before composing herself and standing back up. She walked out of the guest room as she caught a glimpse of her husband going back into the bedroom. She rushed in, not causing a scene of herself as she walked into the room seeing Jake dialing something on his phone.
"What's going on?" Amanda asked looking at him.
"Nothing." Jake said looking at her with wide eyes.
"You rushed in here pretty fast." Amanda said realizing she was questioning him. She had no right to do that, all she could do was wonder.
"Just got a phone call, trying to confirm stuff, you know." Jake said to her, for once he did come off as suspious.
"Ah, well, I can hear cars pulling up, we should get down there." Amanda said going to the window seeing a few cars pulling into the circular driveway.
"One minute honey, go ahead, gotta call the hospital." Jake said as Amanda went to the door. Jake closed it behind her as he wanted some privacy. Amanda shrugged her shoulders and started down the steps holding her purse tight, hoping that maybe he would rethink what he said. She needed him now more then ever. Once she got to the bottom of the steps, the door bell ring and she looked at the door then reached for the handle opening the front door. She greeted them all, not knowing half of them.
"Hello, welcome to our house." She said shaking the men's hand and hugging the women. She saw Jake race down the steps to greet his guests. Amanda stood at his side, like a nice little trophy wife, but she felt odd, like something was wrong.
"Rob, Kevin!" Jake said seeing a few co-workers enter as he reached in and gave them a buddy hug. She saw a few women enter and smiled as she recognized one, her name was Alicia. She was a doctor at the hospital that Jake worked at. They had a lot in common, but Alicia was always having problems with her boyfriend, so they never really got to officially hang out and become friends. When she entered, she first, hugged Jake tightly and then kissed his cheek. She pulled away and stared at him for a moment then came over to hug Amanda. Alicia was slightly taller then Amanda, she was really tan, as were most girls in California. She has raven black hair and her body was average, she wasn't fat, but she wasn't skinny. She had a lot of curves in the right places.
"Amanda, it's been so long." Alicia said hugging her close.
"I know." Amanda spit out as they headed into the living room as they all talked about the hospital benefit for 2 months from then and some other issues that they were having with the budget. Alicia and Amanda caught up during most of the evening, talking about everything from how her work was to Amanda's days spent writing music. During dinner, Jake took over the conversation talking about the updates in the system while Amanda's mind she had bigger things, at least to her, to think about. Daniel said to call him when she was free, but how would she know when she was free. Did he mean free from Jake or free from guilt?
"Dear Amanda, how is your music coming?" Amanda's head looked up from the dinner table seeing one of the older gentlemen look at her asking.
"Oh, rather well I suppose." She said with a slight cheery tune trying to me pulled from her thoughts. As the conversation arouse at the dinner table, Amanda saw Jake stand up and slip away from the large oak table going to the kitchen. Amanda didn't think anything off it, but after a few minutes he didn't come back, so she was worried that maybe something might have happened to him. Alicia smiled at Amanda before excusing herself to use the restroom, she stood up and headed down the hallway out of sight for Amanda. The conversation between the group switched and Amanda was to busy to listen while she wondered where in the world Jake was. She picked at her food before standing up and pushing her seat out.
"Excuse me for a moment." She said fixing her dress. She exited the dining room going down the hall after about 15 minutes after Alicia left. She was starting to worry about her, so she turned the corner and walked next to the bathroom door knocking on it. "Alicia, are you okay, you kinda been in there for a really long time." But there was no answer, so Amanda turned the knob and opened the door seeing an empty bathroom. She turned in her heels and looks around the hallway seeing a few of the waiters talking, not doing their job. She didn't really care as she saw the kitchen door swing back and forth as the waiters keep going in and out towards the dining room where all the guest were. Amanda opened it slightly and looked in peaking around the corner. She saw the cooks working as she then walked into the kitchen and saw the pantry door open. Going over, Amanda peaked her head around the door and saw Jake pushing Alicia asking the shelves tugging at her dress. Amanda's hand gripped her mouth to cover up her heavy breathing. Jake was cheating on her, just like she cheated on him. Maybe she deserved it, but how long was this going on? She backed away and headed back into the dining room with a shocked look on her face.
"Amanda dear, is everything okay?" One of her elders said looking at her. "Your looking more pale then usual."
"Oh, I-I'm fine." Amanda said choking on her own words as she saw Alicia come back to the table, then Jake a few moments later.
